Photographs from the funeral of Lee Harvey Oswald, who shot and killed president John F. Kennedy. The only people in attendance were his mother, his brother, his widow and his children. The weren’t enough mourners present to carry his coffin, so instead it was carried by the reporters who attended the event. Not even the minister went to the funeral, instead the executive secretary of the Fort Worth Council of Churches conducted the ceremony.

It was reported that Jackie Kennedy wrote a note to Marina Oswald, following the murder of her husband Lee Harvey Oswald, saying she was sorry for her loss.

As the adults argued politics we kids went through a massive tonal shift when it came to our perspective on our culture and our security. And that is when I became paranoid. Because our parents had wars and we had Columbine.

Me & Mass Shootings, Eugene Lee Yang

Okay so this video is hard to watch. It is 8 minutes of brutal honesty that needs to be seen. There is some perspective on mass shootings in there that is forgotten. But this line is something I hadn’t realised. And it does include us all know. Social media changed everything. My view has been changed and influenced by shootings as the previous generations were by war. Don’t tell us we’ve never seen violence. Ours is just different.
