Time moves on and trends change and people change with them. While I can understand this fact, I refuse to accept it (for now) and I just can’t move on and completely forget about all these amazing groups that have either disbanded or have been inactive for a long time.
With that out of the way, I would like to introduce you to this guide I created, to help new K-pop fans who may be interested to check out a few of the older groups that were around for the 2007-2015 era of K-pop.
(Note: Some groups underwent line-up changes along the way of their careers, so I will be using the line-up that was more recently active to present each group)
Girls’ Generation (2007-Present)
Taeyeon - Leader, Main Vocalist
Sunny - Lead Vocalist
Tiffany - Lead Vocalist
Hyoyeon - Vocalist, Main Dancer
Yuri - Vocalist, Lead Dancer
Sooyoung - Vocalist, Lead Dancer
Yoona - Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Face of the Group
Seohyun - Lead Vocalist, Maknae
Girls’ Generation debuted in 2007 with the single “Into the New World”. Their musical style relies heavily on electropop and bubblegum pop as well as dance music and their image focuses on carefree and cheerful themes but they have tackled other musical and visual styles as well. While they were relatively well-received since debut, their big hit “Gee” is what boosted their way to the top and has made them a household name in South Korea and most of East Asia, with K-pop fans referring to them as “The Nation’s Girl Group” and other similar titles. Their 2010 Japanese debut with a translated version of their 2009 hit “Genie” was largely succesful and they have met further popularity and success in their neighbouring country ever since.
Minzy - Lead Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Main Dancer, Maknae
2NE1 debuted in 2009 with their hit single “Fire”. Known for their electronic-based sound and bold, in-your-face type of image, 2NE1 was loved for their fierce style and for daring to stand out, refusing to fit into any mold. Their best-selling hit “I Don’t Care” solidified their position as a top-tier group right after their debut and their follow-up hits allowed them to remain on top for the next six years after their debut.
SISTAR debuted in 2010 with the single “Push Push”. They worked closely with producer Brave Sound for the better part of their career and released extremely catchy dance singles which they accompanied with their sexy image and choreographies. Their rise to stardom started in 2011 with their best-selling hit “So Cool” and for the following six years they dominated the digital singles charts with their subsequent releases, a feat which earned them the nickname “Digital Monsters” for their astonishing digital sales and helped them solidify their position as a top group and form what Korean fans call “The Unbreakable Wall” along with Girls’ Generation and 2NE1.
Hara (2008-2016) - Vocalist, Rapper, Main Daner, Face of the Group
Youngji (2014-2016) - Vocalist, Main Rapper, Maknae
KARA debuted in 2007 with their first studio album “The First Blooming” and used “Break It” as the lead single to promote it. After failing to reach the expected ammount of sales and recognition they had hoped to achieve, the group underwent a complete image change one year after debut, switching from R&B/Hip-Hop influenced sound and style, to a cute and bubbly image that was well-received by the public. Their first number-one hit, “Honey” (2009) soon followed and the group continued to gain more and more popularity with follow-up singles “Mister” (2009) and “Lupin”(2010), among others . Debuting in Japan with a translated version of their Korean hit “Mister” in 2010, KARA received further love and fame in Japan, making them one of the most-succeful Korean acts promoting in the Japanese market, with some members still working in Japan after the group’s disbandment.
Yeeun (2007-2017) - Leader, Main Vocalist, Keyboardist
Sunmi (2007-2010, 2015-2017) - Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer, Face of the Group, Bassist
Yubin (2007-2017) - Vocalist, Main Rapper, Drummer
Hyerim (2010-2017) - Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Lead Dancer, Guitarist, Maknae
Wonder Girls debuted in 2007 with the maxi single “The Wonder Begins” and “Irony” as their debut single. The Wonder Girls are known as the “Retro Queens” of Korea thanks to their musical style that draws inspiration from the 60s, 70s and 80s and a fashion sense and visual style to match. In the later years of their career, the dance group learned how to play musical instruments, and made it a core part of their revamped image. Their rise to fame followed soon after their debut with their singles “Tell Me” which took their home country by storm and “Nobody” which followed the next year. Following the huge domestic success of “Nobody”, the group released an English version of the song the next year, specifically-made to target the American music market. The song was a hit and the group was the first Korean act to enter the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. They went on to appear on TV and radio shows and even tour with the Jonas Brothers as their opening act and star in their own Nickelodeon-produced movie while working even harder to polish their musical style and skills during their stay in the United States.
Eunjung (2009-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Lead Rapper
Hyomin (2009-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer
Jiyeon (2009-Present) - Vocalist, Main Dancer, Face of the Group, Maknae
Dani (Predebut) [2012-2014]
T-ara debuted in 2009 with the single “Lie”. Known as “K-pop’s Chameleons”, T-ara constantly redefine their musical and visual image while at the same time mainting their trademark hook-heavy dance style. Their first hit was “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, released in 2009. They continued to release hit songs for the three following years, and went on to debut in Japan in 2011 with a Japanese version of “Bo Peep Bo Peep” and then China, with their collaboration single “Little Apple” (2014) with Chinese duo Chopstick Brothers, making them one of the most succesful groups in South Korea, Japan and China. Their public image in South Korea suffered a big hit in 2012 after fabricated rumours arouse, claiming that the original members of the group were bullying a member who was removed from the group and company at that time. The group continued to release music in their home country, but were mostly supported by their international fans. Said rumours were finally proven false five years later, restoring the group’s image and ceasing all of the unjust accusations made against them.
HyunA - Vocalist, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, Face of the Group
Sohyun - Vocalist, Rapper, Lead Dancer, Maknae
4Minute debuted in 2009 with their best-selling hit single “Hot Issue” which helped them gain fame and recognition at the start of their careers. The group focused on dance, electronic and EDM music and sported a sexy but bold and independent image. They maintained their sound and style as well as the popularity they acquired with their debut and never failed to release music each year during the entirety of their career, making them one of the most consistent groups when it comes to hiatus periods between each of their comebacks.
Krystal - Lead Vocalist, Face of the Group, Maknae
f(x) made their debut with single “LA chA TA” in 2009. Their style is a perfect mix of cute and soft vocals with an alternative visual and artistic style, often experimenting with new sounds and styles. Their big breakthrough came in 2011 with their single “Pinocchio” and the follow-up and best-selling single “Hot Summer”, receiving much love and adoration from K-pop fans worldwide.
Jia (2010-2016) - Vocalist, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer
Min (2010-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Rapper, Main Dancer
Suzy (2010-Present) - Main Vocalist, Rapper, Face of the Group, Maknae
miss A debuted in 2010 with hit single “Bad Girl Good Girl” from their debut EP “Bad but Good”. Adapting a sexy but also strong and independent public image right from the start of their career, miss A are famous for their dance-heavy title tracks and R&B-influenced b-sides and songs that promote female sexuality (”Touch”, “Hush”) but also independence and feminism (”Good Bye Baby”, “I Don’t Need a Man”). miss A’s songs never fail to impress and capture audiences.
Gain - Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer, Face of the Group, Maknae
Brown Eyed Girls debuted as an R&B/Ballad vocal group with “Come Closer” in 2006. Brown Eyed Girls are what one would call the ultimate feminist icons in the K-pop industry. Mature, bold, brave, sexy, strong, independent, unapologetic are all words that perfectly describe the core concepts that the group’s music and image revolve around. They started gaining popularity in 2008 with their song “L.O.V.E” and then captivated their home country with “Abracadabra” the following year. The Brown Eyed Girls are also notable for the relatively big age gap they have compared to their contemporary colleagues, and for staying together for eleven (and counting!) years, without any member changes too.
Jung-A (2009-2016) - Leader, Main Vocalist, Main Dancer
Juyeon (2009-2015) - Vocalist, Dancer
U-ie (2009-2017) - Vocalist, Rapper, Lead Dancer, Face of the Group
Raina (2009-Present) - Main Vocalist, Dancer
Nana (2009-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Rapper, Lead Dancer
Lizzy (2010-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Main Rapper, Dancer
E-Young (2011-Present) - Vocalist, Lead Dancer
Kaeun (2012-Present) - Lead Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Dancer, Maknae
After School debuted in 2009 with maxi single “New Schoolgirl” and used “Ah” to promote it. After School are notable for their admission-graduation system, but most importantly, for their complex choreographies; from drum-marching, to tap dancing, to pole dancing, they’ve trained for months to perfect said choreographies and have succeeded with much grace and efficiency. Their best-selling hit “Because of You” is their best-known hit and its success enabled them to continue releasing great music for the next six years after it’s release.
1. Don’t compare yourself to others. You are totally unique, and have different talents, abilities and strengths.
2. Never criticise or put yourself down. There are plenty of others who will do that for you. You need to be your biggest, and you greatest, fan. Be understanding, gentle and kind to yourself.
3. Consciously accept every compliment you get and see them as accurate and genuinely meant. Don’t brush them off as stupid, wrong, or meaningless.
4. Keep affirming yourself until it changes how you feel. It may feel false at first when you say something like “I accept myself completely– and believe I’m valuable”. But as you constantly repeat it you’ll find that, over time, you do accept and value the person that you are.
5. Surround yourself with positive, encouraging people. If you hang out with people who always put you down, and never seem to like or approve of your ideas, then you’ll soon stop believing in yourself as well (and it will also crush your creativity).
6. Make a list of your successes and accomplishments – like playing an instrument, learning how to cook, passing an exam, graduating from high school, or getting into college, or receiving an award. Review this list often – and be proud of yourself!
7. Make a list of your positive qualities and traits. Are you an honest, reliable and caring friend? Do you make time for others? Do you try to do your best? Again, review this list often, and get into the habit of focusing on your positive qualities and traits.
8. Spend your time doing things that you are good at, and enjoy. We become more alive when we’re doing things we love - and that naturally increases our self-confidence (as we’re being our true selves and not just acting out a role).
9. Get involved. If you sit on the sidelines and avoid all challenges then you won’t be able to achieve much in life. But if you push through the feelings of anxiety and fear, then you’ll grow, be successful, and have higher self esteem.
10. Be true to yourself; live a life that’s really “you”. Don’t let other people decide what you should do, or what is best for you, or who they think that you should be. You only have one life – choose your own path – just be you!
Oh my GOD being a Witch/Wizard in the 2010-2017 era would be so much fucking fun I swear I’ve never wanted to be a modern witch more than I do now
Imagine every Friday night to celebrate the weekend, whatever year you’re in has a battle of the bands tradition, where everyone gathers in the Hufflepuff common room to rock tf out.
Pureblood student’s learning muggle music and instruments and LOVING it.
Every person in the year having mad hangovers the next day, and being dragged to the Quidditch pitch. All of the older students who attended the battle the previous night would all be dying, some of them even conjuring their own potions in an attempt to stop their hangovers.
FUCKING FIRST/SECOND YEARS DABBING
“10 points to Ravenclaw” *AGGRESSIVELY DABS*
If you weren’t in Hufflepuff yourself, the Hufflepuffs would be so fucking annoying. In EVERY SINGLE HOUSE EVENT they would all be chanting this song. (Even better if there was a Hufflepuff vs Slytherin Quidditch match and all the fucking Hufflepuff’s start shrieking the snake part)
I’m convinced there would be a Wizarding equivalent to social media apps like vine, instagram etc. Imagine the fucking vines that would be made through the school year im dyigreqdasiuf
Some Ravenclaw students using the room of requirement as a gym, because they know not only the importance of a healthy mind, but a healthy body too. Some Gryffindor students tagging along too when they notice what they’re up to, interested in muggle ‘leg day’, as they call it.
Piercing’s getting banned but most students being like lol fuck ya, wearing nose rings, septums etc all the time without fail.
Skater kids would enchant their skateboards to be able to hover, riding them in the corridor to their classes. Some teachers like Professor Longbottom would let it slide, others such as Filch wouldn’t be as forgiving.
Voldemort would become a meme.
He would definitely be a meme oh my god I am CONVINCED of this
In the History of Magic studies, the selected teacher would be expressing how dangerous and fearful the Dark Lord had once looked, one of the Slytherin students yelling out, ‘He doesn’t even have a bloody nose?! Dark Lord my arse.”
Muggle born students would take their pureblood friends to Muggle music festivals like Glastonbury and Reading Leeds, and they would go OFF.
Wizards/Witches enchanting their camping tents so it’s like a small cabin, so it wasn’t uncomfortable to sleep in after a long day of seeing all the bands.
Kids who stay over the Christmas holidays would so stay up and play beer pong for New Years- all the Ravenclaws using advanced magic to cheat.
In Charms class, the students in their last year would do the mannequin challenge, making objects levitate while someone records it all.
Gryffindor students being annoying little fucks and trying to see how many teachers they could get to dab over the year. This turns into an annual house event for students, Slytherin always winning.
For Halloween all the older students enchanting their image to look like professors, which may become problematic through the day.
Hufflepuffs coming to class stoned, but never get told off for it. Sure, the odd point or two will be taken away if it’s that obvious, but those little shits always get away with it. Bonus points because their common room is so close to the kitchen.
If you haven’t heard this song before, I believe the Gryffindor would change the lyrics to “Gryffindor sound, we aint fucken around, fuck our classes man so we keep it underground, cause potions each day got me feeling like shit but it’s all worth while when the weekend hits.”
Slytherin students playing odds on, getting their Gryffindor mates to jump into the black lake to see the giant squid.
Muggle borns taking their pureblood friends to rugby/hockey/soccer games, and them not having a fucking clue what’s going on.
KIDS IN THE CHOIR USING THEIR FUCKING FROG’S TO DO DUBSTEP AND TRAP BEATS FUCK
Students using Snapchat to record small snippets of Mandrakes screaming then slow it down- Professor Longbottom finds this hillarious.

What instruments would Hamilton and his friends play?
Hamilton: Drums. Loud. Obnoxious. If Jefferson tries to steal the spotlight he casually // throws his drumsticks as hard as he can at him //
Laurens: Ukulele, very soft and sweet with that angel voice of his. Hamilton always asks him to play for him in a so //t o t a l l y p l a t o n i c w a y//
Mulligan: Harmonica. He keeps it in his pocket at all times and plays it so beautifully people forget how big and tough he looks. He's just a big soft bean
Lafayette: He's too busy learning English, do you think he has time to learn an instrument? The answer is yes, he plays the flute
Burr: Violin. Elegant and soft, gentle in a way Burr has always tried to be. This is how he got Theodosia to fall for him.
Washington: Cello. He doesn't like to talk about it, but Hamilton often here's him softly playing at night after an extra stressful day
Eliza: Piano (*gross sobbing* she taught philip piano)
Angelica: Harp. She rarely gets to play, but when she does she will drop everything and she can play for hours. She played one at Eliza and Hamilton's wedding when they danced.
Peggy: Picollo. vv high pitched, vv trilling, vv bad ass,, vv anD PEgGY
Jefferson: Fiddle. Straight outta Virginia, a southern instrument, as well as it gives him the chance to constantly steal Hams spotlight
Madison: Acoustic guitar. Can be soft and soothing or loud and very country. Normally plays it very soft, and Jefferson will sit outside of his door and listen but doesn't tell him about it.

After watching a Ghibli movie: holy sh i t I’m so inspired I’m so MOTIVATED I’m gonna clean my entire house and write 300 novels, maybe even cook a meal for my family, or start my own business, or go on an adventure, or perhaps learn an instrument, or—
Don’t ever tell me that marching band isn’t important.
I have had so many problems with public schools putting all the emphasis on athletics. When a school’s budget is cut, they don’t choose to take a little from each program. No. They choose to completely eradicate the arts programs, usually starting with the marching band. If you don’t play sports, you’re not a valuable asset, you’re not qualified for scholarships, and you mean nothing. Marching band? Why would we be impressed that you’re in marching band?
Anyone can do that.
Okay, fine. Anyone can do marching band. Anyone can spend hours on the field doing the same forty-second section over and over and over and over. Anyone can hit over 75 precise dots on the field with the correct step sizes, the correct amount of steps, the correct timing, without being so much as an inch to either side, in order and without looking at the yard line markers or the field. Anyone can memorize all of those extremely specific points on the grass and varying counts for steps and then execute them with a shako visor pulled down over your eyes and looking up at the press box the whole time. If you look down at the yard line markers to see where you are, congratulations, you just lost points for the group.
Anyone can memorize eight pages of notes, rhythms, dynamics, phrasing, and tempos. (But of course, before you do that you have to learn an instrument with hundreds of different fingerings and learn how to make slight changes in your lips to change notes and stay in tune.) Memorize all seven and a half minutes of music and then marry it to the seventy-five pages of drill you memorized. Do them both perfectly and at the same time. But you can’t just do what you memorized. You have to do it in perfect sync with everyone around you and know how to make the slightest adjustments to fit perfectly within the group. If you’re an inch to the right or barely a thousandth of a step sharp, it’ll throw everything off.
But anyone can do that.
Then add in the fact that you don’t get any individual credit for doing this. The closest you’ll come to recognition is your identity lumped into “The Such-and-Such Marching Band” as you all march onto the field looking exactly the same. You don’t have a number on your back. You have a uniform intended to erase you and turn you into dot T14 and nothing more.
But, for some reason you can’t explain, you love it. You love throwing everything you have into this ridiculously precise pursuit and then not getting any credit for it. You start thanking people when they call you a band geek. You start taping pictures of marching bands into your locker. You start wearing your band shirt everywhere you go. Because you look at the person in an identical uniform next to you and you know that you’ve done this for them and they’ve done this for you. This is more than just a team, this is a family; and if one person is missing from the form, the show can’t ever be the same.
It costs so much money, so much time. You’re out there on the field in the blazing sun for fourteen hours a day during summer band camp, out in the street getting frostbite on your fingertips during the holiday parade. If anyone knew what you went through for this, they would wonder what made it all worth it.
And the truth is, what makes it all worth it cannot be described. It’s the camaraderie between you and the center snare, the colorguard newbie, the tenor sax player in the set in front of you. It’s the sunset behind you lighting up the back of your plume. It’s the hazy nostalgia that racks your chest with emotion. There’s something about the family you’ve chosen and the experience you’ve internalized that gives you the passion to throw everything down onto that field like nothing else matters in the world… because in that moment, it’s true.
Your nerves are damaged from the cold. Your skin is damaged from the sun. Your joints are damaged from marching and marching and marching. You’re physically and mentally drained, your body is irreversibly compromised, you’re broke as hell, and all you have to show for it is a polyester jacket and a couple of blurry photographs.
But sports are what require hard work and dedication, not marching band.
Even though you complained basically the entire time you marched and even though you’re done with it, you pull out those photographs and you remember. You remember your first day of high school band camp when you had absolutely no idea what you were getting yourself into. You remember your first final retreat when they announced your band’s name as state champions, and you wanted to cry with happiness but you weren’t allowed to move, so you just clenched your fists so tight that your fingernails dug white crescents into your palms. You remember coming back the next year and thinking you knew everything as a sophomore, only to realize there was still so much to learn. You remember the band trips you spent months fundraising for, all the lame tourist attractions you visited between performances, and how you wouldn’t trade those memories for all the money in the world. You remember being a junior and getting nervous because people looked up to you now: as an upperclassman, as a section leader, as a friend. And then you were a senior and you cried on the final day of band camp. You remember how your life became a series of lasts. You had to decide which of the freshmen would inherit your band cubby, your lucky bottle of valve oil, your bus seat. You went to graduation but it didn’t mean anything because you still had one last band trip coming up. You didn’t shed a tear when you tossed your cap but you cried like a child after your last parade. You remember on the plane ride home, you expected to feel devastated and heartbroken, but you just felt… empty.
You remember printing out what seemed like the most difficult solo in the world. You remember driving up to your college and entering a room with a chair and a stand and a couple of people giving you skeptical looks. You remember getting an email from the college marching band with your audition results and reading it with tears of joy in your eyes because you realized it was starting all over again.
But marching band doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t matter.
Tell me that it doesn’t matter. Tell me as many times as you want. You could scream it in my face and I still wouldn’t hear because the music we’re making is too damn loud to let anything else in.
Tell me that it doesn’t matter when I’m standing on the field for the last time, knowing that everything behind me will last forever and that nothing will ever mean more to me than this… and all you’ve got is some money and a jersey with a number on the back.
Do not ever tell me that marching band isn’t important. It is everything to me, and it is everything to millions of other band geeks across the world.
When you refuse to support kids because they participate in the arts rather than athletics, you’re no better than the football player who takes lunch money from nerds.
To all of my fellow band geeks… keep marching, even if the world tells you it’s not worth it. It is. God, it is worth it, in ways no one else but you will ever understand. Continue your band career in college. Audition for a drum corps. Stay active in your high school band as an alumnus supporter. You are all my family.
why don't you start making more covers? i think everyone would love that, your voice is sooo lovely
Well, I’m really trying to learn an instrument so I can accompany myself! Uke first! Right now, I’m constrained to waiting on someone who can duet with me, so I can borrow their instrument-playing expertise! Haha
One year ago, I told my band director I wanted to learn another instrument so I could be bisectional, as a joke. Today I learned that he posted it on an international Facebook page for band directors, and it has over 3,500 likes and comments. World class musicians I will never know commented about how funny I am, especially since I go to a catholic school. Y'all, I am more famous in the world of band than I am on tumblr. I have peaked, and will never accomplish more than this.
【Japan Official Fanclub Magazine Vol.3】BTS My Biography – V’s part
Full of curiosity since childhood A bright child who was brought up by his grandmother
Just like Suga hyung, I’m also from Daegu and I’ve lived in Gochang
for a while. I have always been an optimistic
child since nursery, the teachers really liked me. When I see something nice, I would always take it to school and give it to the teachers. They would praise
me: “oh, well done!”, I’m happy whenever I hear that. I had a close friend who
was in the same class as me, I miss those times when we shared the green sweets
which were popular back then. I have a
lot of memories with my grandmother during childhood. My grandmother would take me
to the nursery and come to pick me up, every day I looked forward to the time
she came to pick me up. She always bought me citron tea from the vending machine and I loved that.
During primary school, I was a child full of curiosity and wanted to try
everything. I’ve slept over my friend’s house and Taekwondo training camp was also
fun. Many children from the my nursery went to the same primary school so I had a
lot of friends. Every day, I played with my friends in the playground until it
was dark. But I didn’t just play, I attended Hagwon too
(laughs). I attended from 6th
grade of primary school to 3rd grade of middle school. Since I lived
in the countryside, I’ve never imagined working outside of agriculture/ farming. I knew that I had to study properly. But I changed my
mind after I fell for music. I don’t remember when but I remember pestering my
parents: “buy me a MP3 player~! I want to listen too!” And that’s how I started
to listen to different genres of music. Towards the end of 6th
grade, I had the dream of becoming a singer. It was the first time that I had a
Learnt saxophone and dance with the goal of becoming a singer
It was 1st
grade of middle school when I started to work towards my dream. My father asked
me: “what do you want to be in the future?” and I replied: “I want to be a
singer.” My father’s dream was to be an actor, so he said seriously: “if you want
to be a singer, you’ve got to learn an instrument.” So, I learnt saxophone for about
3 years. It looked cool but my lips were in pain and it was quite heavy, so it
was tiring. But I continued to attend the lessons, with the mindset of “if I want to be
singer, I have to play an instrument.” Because I diligently practiced, I even
won the gold medal in the Gyeongsang province competition!
school, there was a dance club for those who likes to dance and it was a place
to learn K-Pop dances. I was really busy (back then) as I attended Hagwon while I was
learning saxophone and dancing. I spent the rest of my time playing basketball
with my friends, it was fun. I wasn’t good at it but my friends loved to play basketball. So, I started to like basketball and continued to play under my friends’ influence.
I stopped learning saxophone because I want to focus more on dancing. If you
want to become a singer, it wouldn’t be cool if you can’t dance, right? I
wanted to learn properly, so from high school I started to attend dance
classes. About 6 months later, BigHit Entertainment held a
private audition. My friend went to the audition and I was free so I went along. I danced, rapped, showed voice imitations and comedy
acts in the audition. I thought “I must have failed” but then they contacted me
saying that I’ve passed. I thought they were lying, because I was the only one
from Daegu to pass the audition.
The trainee period was full of memories with the members
When I was in 1st grade of high school, I came up to Seoul in
August to start my trainee life while studied in an arts high school in Seoul. When
I moved in, there were Jungkookie, Suga hyung, J-Hope hyung and Rap Mon hyung.
I’m not shy with strangers so we got close straight away. I was happy that I
became a trainee, so I was happy every day. However, we had a lot of practices.
I couldn’t spend my days like an ordinary high school student but I tried to
make memories in the dormitory and practice rooms. I still remember the day 1st of January, when the 7 of us went to the amusement park together.
Everyone wanted to look cool so we all wore black clothes. And we stood out so
much (laughs). For your information, my fashion has always been coordinated with the clothes that
my grandmother bought me. My grandmother has great fashion sense, so she has
always been good at choosing clothes for me.
Even after our debut was set, I
was hidden until the end as I was the secret weapon (of the group). Because of that, I was upset that I couldn’t even tell people that I was
debuting soon. The other members all had schedules but I just rested in the
dormitory. So, I was really happy when they revealed me. I was happy that “my
dream since 6th grade of primary school has finally came true!” BTS is my first and last group of my life. I want to move up together with
our members and reach a high place until the end. I want to reach a high place, look back all the things we did so
far and be able to say, “we have worked hard to get here.” If there’s a chance, I
would like to act too, but it wouldn’t be great if I’m not ready to act, right?
I want to study acting properly, if I think I’m ready then I want to give it a

Lance: -plays the tenor sax -used the entire box of tenor sax reeds in the first week, is now responsible for funding the tenor sax reed purchases for the rest of the year -misses cues bc he’s too busy laughing at his distorted reflection on the surface of his instrument -learned the pink panther theme in 2 days and plays it at every opportunity. has played it so much that every time he picks up the instrument the entire band cringes and shoots him death glares -it becomes so annoying that one day one of the percussionists gives up and throws a timpani mallet at his head -he still plays it
Keith: -percussionist -gets bored during rehearsals and practices random shit while he’s supposed to be playing with the rest of the band -no one notices -except for the tuba player, who is too nice to say anything -drops drumsticks all the time, during the worst possible moments -*slow & intense piece ends gently* *final note is lifted* *sound of drumsticks hitting the floor* -is responsible for every single ba dum tss delivered after every lance roast
Hunk: -plays the tuba -kinda nervous about playing loud, but is always encouraged bc he is always perfectly in tune -really nice about correcting the rest of the low brass when they’re doing the wrong thing -once freaked out when he got eighth notes, excitedly sent pictures of the score to all his friends -everyone thinks he practices a lot bc he’s super good, but really he’s just amazing at sight reading
Pidge: -plays the keyboard -loves to fuck around with the sound settings -procrastinates practicing & never knows what they’re doing, actually just makes up half the notes and hopes for the best -can get halfway through a piece before realizing it’s the wrong one -coffee stains are covering all the important bits in their music -has never seen a pencil in their life
Shiro: -plays the french horn and is f ucking good -people forget to play after his solos bc everyone is hypnotized -always has extra pencils for anyone who needs one -casually knows every instrument’s fingerings, people ask for his help all the time -has emergency reeds too ??? has saved the lives of many reed players in emergencies -makes sure the other horns get to have solos too, bc he knows he’s not the only good player and likes everyone to have their proud moments
Allura: -the conductor -dumps 15 new pieces on the band at once -“yes, i am aware that we’ve only been playing this for five minutes. your excuse is…?” -has incredibly high expectations -but is really proud of everyone & shows it
