lean hounds

Ned Stark would have loved nothing so well as to see them both lose, but Sansa was watching it all moist-eyed and eager. The hastily erected gallery trembled as the horses broke into a gallop.

The Hound leaned forward as he rode, his lance rock steady, but Jaime shifted his seat deftly in the instant before impact. Clegane’s point was turned harmlessly against the golden shield with the lion blazon, while his own hit square. Wood shattered, and the Hound reeled, fighting to keep his seat. Sansa gasped. A ragged cheer went up from the commons.

The Hound just managed to stay in his saddle. He jerked his mount around hard and rode back to the lists for the second pass. Jaime Lannister tossed down his broken lance and snatched up a fresh one, jesting with his squire. The Hound spurred forward at a hard gallop. Lannister rode to meet him. This time, when Jaime shifted his seat, Sandor Clegane shifted with him. Both lances exploded, and by the time the splinters had settled, a riderless blood bay was trotting off in search of grass while Ser Jaime Lannister rolled in the dirt, golden and dented.Sansa said, “I knew the Hound would win.”

Any Other Way

Nancy, Steve and Jonathan decide to spend the summer after graduation driving around the country fighting monsters. But they weren’t counting on a stowaway…

It’s Nancy’s idea originally. She brings it up one January night, their senior year, when the three of them are studying at Steve’s house.

“There’s this…’network’ of people.” She drops her voice to a whisper. “Monster hunters.”

Steve and Jonathan glance at each other but let her go on.

“We weren’t the first to deal with something like this. And it happens, like, all over the country. A lot of people don’t know how to handle it, so they…well, they hire someone.” She pauses. “And they pay you.”

They don’t say anything and Nancy sighs. “Look, don’t you feel like we should do something? I do. I think about all the things that could be out there and the people who don’t know what to do…”

The boys both nod, looking away from her. They know that feeling well. Steve finally speaks.

“Nance, we can’t just drop out of school to go monster hunting.”

“I’m not saying we’d go now. I was thinking this summer, after graduation.”

blackstones of the ancient
woodland huddled in their
same white nulled dominion,
goes bad end to end worthless
by winter cold to the touch I am
only a husk of all former will

heroic in conviction, keeper of
the wound silent in weeping,
down to the squall of bone

and the nights end here, crude
as a Saxon, mistral and guttural
ruined

fast in the grasp of delible,
lean and wolf hound to my will

I will be in doubt of myself, forever

Jessica: Could you write a long Noctis x shy Reader oneshot, where Reader is from the Real world and she suddenly finds herself in Final Fantasy XV (and she meets her crush, Noctis, and his friends)? P.S. Awesome blog! I really like it!

I can certainly do my best, Jessica!
It’s all under the cut!

A Game of Thrones - Eddard VII - Sansan Excerpts

Sandor Clegane dropped his visor with an audible clang and took up his position. Ser Jaime tossed a kiss to some woman in the commons, gently lowered his visor, and rode to the end of the lists. Both men couched their lances.

“I wonder how I ought spend your money,” Littlefinger called down to Lord Renly.

sorry for sending so many questions lol. I just love your blog so much. Anyway, do you have a favorite dog breed?

No way. How ever would I choose?

I adore all sighthounds, but only a select few would fit the lifestyle I need - I’m leaning towards an afghan hound when I’m in a position to be able to own a dog. But, man, I drool over them whenever they’re on my feed.

Beagles and other hunting hounds are some of my favorites to train because of how they think, but their intensity is a little overwhelming and it’s always nice to give them back to their owners when it’s time to leave.

Well bred toy dogs, like papillions and chihuahuas, are really fascinating. I love their engagement and their connection to their people.

Mastiffs and other molossers are wonderful lumps from a distance but I prefer to not be covered in slobber, thanks.

Most bully breeds have some of my favorite personalities but their temperament is nowhere near suited to my lifestyle or what I need in a dog.
