leading figure

Okey okey... But what if Dreamswap but... DINTIS? (I'm really sorry but the image of DS!Dreamare,,,is,,,just,,,p e R F E CT)

Honestly, Dreamswap + DINTIS is not really a possible combination. Trust me, I’ve thought about it, plus a number of other poeple have suggested it. Thanks to their personalities, it’s just impossible, not to mention unnecessary, since DS!Dream isn’t anything like classic Nightmare.

If you look at original Dream, it doesn’t seem all that farfetched for him to just lose hope, give up and just want to be with his (manipulative) brother again. But in Dreamswap, both Dream and Nightmare are extremely opinionated and ambitious people. Nightmare giving up isn’t an option, either. Dream is trying to eliminate him. Not because he wants to, but because he thinks he has to in order to help everyone else. It simply doesn’t work out.

Given the recent discussion about alternate history, I'd be remiss if I didn't ask you what you thought about Harry Turtledove (his works generally, as well as Timeline 191).

I don’t think Harry Turtledove is a very good alternative history writer, because what he’s usually doing is just telling the original history but with the names and serial numbers filed off, assuming that our history’s OTL will stil happen even though there’s been some big change: the American Revolution never happens, but Martin Luther King still becomes a leading political figure; the South wins the Civil War but WWI and the rise of Hitler are still going to happen just in the U.S; the Great Depression is going to happen in 1929 regardless of the policies of the government of the U.S at the time; the east coast of the United States is a giant island in the middle of the Atlantic, but George Washington still leads a rebellio against Great Britain, and so on.

He also has a tendency to rely on very outdated history in somewhat troubling fashion - one short story of his is grounded in the idea that Lincoln’s lenient Reconnstruction policy would have prevented violence in the South (when Johnson’s quite similar policy led to huge amounts of violence in the South) and that the “harhness” of radical Reconstruction is to blame for enduring radical tensions. Which was the dominant historiographical view in the 1950s, but has been discredited since the 70s/80s.

For Refinery29’s celebration of Black History Month we put together a list of Black men and women you ought to know. Their legacy in civil rights, feminism, and LGBTQ equality lives on today.

  1. Bayard Rustin — A leading Black figure in the civil rights movement and advisor to Martin Luther King, he was the architect of the 1963 March on Washington and was heavily involved in the first Freedom Rides. He was also gay and a registered communist who went to jail for his sexual orientation. Although widely heralded, he was attacked even by fellow activists for his faith in nonviolence, unapologetic queerness, and attention to income equality. President Obama honored Rustin posthumously with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013.
  2. Combaheee River Collective — A seminal Black lesbian feminist group active from 1974-1980. Although officially short lived, its influence has been major. The group is best known for writing the Combaheee River Collective Statement, an important document in promoting the idea that social change must be intersectional — and that Black women’s needs were not being met by mainstream white feminism and therefore must strike out on their own. Members of the collective included Audre Lorde and…Chirlane McCray, now First Lady of New York City and author of the landmark essay “I Am a Lesbian,” published in Essence in 1979.
  3. John Carlos, Tommie Smith, and Peter Norman — The winners of the 1968 Mexico City Olympics 200 Meter Sprint. In one of the proudest and most political moments of sports history, John Carlos and Tommie Smith raised their leather-gloved fists in the Black Power salute. They wore black socks without shoes to represent black poverty and a scarf and necklace to symbolize “those individuals that were lynched, or killed and that no-one said a prayer for, that were hung and tarred. It was for those thrown off the side of the boats in the middle passage.”

We also include in our list Peter Norman, the white Australian silver medalist from that ceremony, to commemorate his solidarity with the two Black athletes. White people are more than indebted to black history, and Norman is an excellent example of a white ally. Although he didn’t perform the black power salute, he publicly supported the duo without regard to personal safety or retribution. Norman was penalized for his alliance with Carlos and Smith and was never again allowed to compete in any Olympics despite repeatedly qualifying. Largely forgotten and barred from major sporting events, he became a gym teacher and worked at a butcher shop. At his funeral in 2006, John Carlos and Tommie Smith were his pallbearers.
  4. The Friendship Nine — This group of nine Black students from Friendship Junior College willingly went to jail without bail in 1961 after staging a sit-in at McCrory’s lunch counter in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They pioneered the civil rights strategy “Jail, No Bail,” which placed the financial burden for racist incarceration back on the state. They’re appreciated today for their bravery and strategic ingenuity. In 2015 their conviction was finally overturned and prosecutor Kevin Brackett personally apologized to the eight living members of the group.
  5. Barbara Jordan — A lawyer and politician, Barbara Jordan was the first Black woman elected to the Texas Senate after Reconstruction, the first southern Black woman to be elected as a US Senator, and the first Black woman to deliver a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention. Her keynote address is widely considered the greatest of all time, aided by her charismatic and eloquent public speaking skills. She is also remembered as one of the leaders of the impeachment of Richard Nixon. We chose the above quote to illustrate her unique punchy sense of humor.
  6. Pauli Murray — This civil rights activist, feminist, and poet was a hugely successful lawyer who is also recognized as the first Black female Episcopal priest. Like many figures on this list, Murray was acutely aware of the complex relationship between race and gender, and referred to sexism as “Jane Crow,” comparing midcentury treatment of women to that of African Americans in the South. Although she graduated from Howard University first in her class, she was barred from enrolling as a postgraduate at Harvard because she was a woman. Instead, in 1965 she became the first African American to receive a JSD from Yale Law. Once armed with a law degree she became a formidable force in advancing feminist and civil rights. She is a cofounder of the National Organization for Women (NOW). She also identified as having an “inverted sex instinct,” which she used instead of “homosexual” to describe her complicated gender identity and lifelong attraction to women.

Black Panther Portraits: New Looks at Wakanda’s Heroes and Villains

Black Panther

There is no denying the beauty of the costumes and people of Black Panther. In this gallery of portraits by photographer Kwaku Alston, created exclusively for EW’s Comic-Con preview, the king and protector of Wakanda reigns supreme. Chadwick Boseman is photographed in T'Challa’s obsidian-colored, Vibranium-woven armor as the hero of this Marvel Studios movie.

Nakia

As one of Wakanda’s top spies, protecting the secretive nation’s interests around the globe, Lupita Nyong'o’s character is often undercover. But that doesn’t mean she blends in. “I would say Nakia is very practical,” the Oscar-winner says. “She dresses for the job at hand, but she doesn’t compromise her style.”

Okoye

“Danai Gurira is going to steal every scene that she’s in is the head of the Dora Milaje, the all-female secret service to T’Challa,” says Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Here, The Walking Dead actress is seen in Okoye’s ornate uniform as part of the order, created by costume designer Ruth E. Carter. W'Kabi

Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya plays Black Panther’s best friend, W’Kabi, the head of security for the Border Tribe. “They live on the borders of Wakanda and serve as the first line of defense for the country,” says executive producer Nate Moore. “As T’Challa ascends to the throne, he asks W’Kabi to serve as an advisor, trusting his friends knowledge and instincts.”

Source: Entertainment Weekly

Shuri

Letitia Wright plays T'Challa’s sister, Shuri, who crafts weapons like the Vibranium-enhanced panther gauntlets on her hands. “She is also a genius and runs the entire Wakandan design group,” Feige says. “She’s responsible for amazing technological advances that Vibranium has brought about from Wakanda.”

Zuri

“He’s somewhat a religious figure or spiritual figure,” director Ryan Coogler says of Forest Whitaker’s shaman character, Zuri. “Forest’s character, more than anything, is a major tie-back to T’Challa’s father. Zuri is someone he looks to for guidance.” Coogler says to think of him as the Wise Old Man — Black Panther’s version of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ramonda

Angela Bassett is Wakanda’s queen mother, as vital to T'Challa and Shuri now as when they were children. “Her goal in the film is to help T’Challa become king of Wakanda in a peaceful transition of power, serving as a de facto advisor to the throne,” Moore says. “However, as things get complicated for our hero, she sets aside any political functions and instead operates as a mother whose sole concern is the physical well-being of both of her children.”

Source: Entertainment Weekly

Erik Killmonger

Here’s one of those complications. In the comics, Killmonger is an exiled dissident from Wakanda who believes T'Challa will be too weak a ruler. “Something we felt was important was that Wakanda wasn’t treated monolithically, meaning everybody agreed to do the same thing all the time,” Moore says. “Wakanda has a lot of citizens who have a lot of different ideas of Wakanda should be. Killmonger is a voice of a different side of Wakanda.”

Source: Entertainment Weekly

M'Baku

Winston Duke (Person of Interest) plays another leading figure in Wakanda who poses a threat to T'Challa. What the panther is to the royal family, the gorilla is to M'Baku’s mountain tribe. “The idea that they worship the gorilla gods is interesting because it’s a movie about the Black Panther who, himself, is a sort of deity in his own rights,” Moore said. In the comics, M'Baku wears white fur and an animal mask as the villain Man-Ape. (Read more: How Marvel has modernized the character to avoid unintended racial sterotypes.)

Hidden Figures was the perfect film to see on International Women’s Day.

Such a beautiful representation of female strength and intelligence, and a showcase of the inspirational courage, tenacity and resilience that women of colour posses.

anonymous asked:

So my fancast Jessica Chastain is out most likely of playing Ivy in the DCEU. Who do you want to play Poison Ivy?

Hi,

I saw that she’s up for some “X-Men” movie right? Well good for her lol. I think Chastain would’ve been great because she’s a great actress but I don’t think someone should be picked for Ivy because they have red hair. Not saying that’s why you picked her but I often see - when people are fancasting- that they just go for the obvious. People can dye their hair for roles, isn’t Margot Robbie’s a natural brunette? Her roots seem to grow brown and I once saw an interview of her on Jimmy Kimmel where they showed a young picture of her and she had dark brown hair.  Obviously Jared Leto’s hair isn’t naturally bright green. I’m not trying to offend you or anyone so don’t take it that way please.

This is David Ayer. He made the most diverse superhero film ever. He said in a press conference that “kids need to see people that look like them” on the big screen. This is Warner Bros. who have shown that they want to show as much diversity as possible both in front of and behind the scenes. I would be willing to bet money that “Gotham City Sirens” will NOT be three white female leads. I would actually be kinda disappointed if it was to be honest. WB is not a white sausage feast that is only 14 movies in getting diverse like some other movie studio. Just remember who is making this movie they have all shown that they are very driven to show as much diversity as possible.

So if you’re asking me who my fancast for Poison Ivy is? I’ve had this person in mind since I saw her speak at the Oscars then I watched ‘Hidden Figures’ and she was fantastic in it. My fancast for Posion Ivy is Janelle Monáe. (x)

Thanks!

Sell the raven cycle to me. Why should i read it? What's so good about it?

man that’s a tall order lemme do my best here

1. The characters are very difficult jigsaw puzzle people. They’re wedged in the middle of adulthood and childhood, and magical realism is sprinkled over top of that awkwardness so that we feel very situated in that exact space and time of lost & messing up & family not being enough anymore/friendship being all you can see. And it’s not just the main characters, it’s a spectrum of cameos from people so vivid that you could hitch a ride to a whole other series on their backs. It’s this mass of interconnected lovers and churchgoers and rich boys and school-haters and hard-asses and scared kids and witches and characters that don’t quite know whether to be alive or dead.

Every person is lovingly invented to be difficult to parse upon first glance. they’re magic-eye people. You know when you’re at the optometrist and they put down slides on their big ol’ eye contraption and ask you to tell them when things get clear? it’s kind of like that. You’ve gotta keep accumulating lenses and when it’s finally clear you realize you don’t know where or how the difference set in. And better yet, the characters feel that way too – you’ve got unreliable points of view from everyone from villains to leads to sentient forests, figuring each other out, growing and misunderstanding and loving from afar. Everything has a voice, even birds and trees. This book is made of too many voices in too many languages and all you can do is sit down and be very still and listen (jot that down)

2. The plot/magic in this book are compelling as all hell, and they wind and trip and fall, but it’s worth climbing in and letting the car speed so your head rattles or the magical forest turn you around until you get lost. It’s just the right balance of relatable teenaged disasters and wholly un-relatable living nightmares and hitmen and possession via nature and ghosts and old old old magicians. Somehow pizza with the gang transmutes quietly into burying the carcass of a monster, tennis during the day becomes deadly streaking car racing until someone wins or dies. The books never let up, they go and go and talk about how much they’re going and throw too much at you.

It’s frustrating actually, the way you’re breathless for four entire novels. There are so many loose ends that you start writing ways to tie them together in your head before you’ve even finished. Impossible things represent gritty reality at every turn, you have manifestations of real depression, escapism from real abuse, resentment of real neglectful parents. You have a mosaic of things that hurt so much that they’ve become magic so that we can stand to look at them. trc wants you to look at a kissing curse and a dead king and quietly put them aside until you need them again. If you only read the back of the book, you’re brushing fingers against a scapegoat for a host of things that are much realer.

3. The writing knows what it’s doing. It needles its way into pretentious territory, but I can’t pretend that trc didn’t burrow into my writing style and rearrange things. The writing feels like.. i don’t know man like you’re holding a beating heart in your hand and watching it sputter and try to keep going, and it’s fucking amazing to witness even though you know it can’t last forever. You can see the mechanism of it and gore of it, but you keep watching and waiting. There are so many plain little to the point sentences that fit into the grand scheme of things so perfectly that you just. sob. and there are so many intricate metaphors and frank magical descriptions and charming, human ways of saying something that isn’t charming or human.

It’s a hell of a series. It knows when to open the door, it trusts that you’ll come through it. It makes you hurt so bad for a friendship that hurtles down like an asteroid and ruins everything but you. It makes you feel a little better about whatever ancient welsh king you’re looking for, whatever night horror is ripping up your head space. It makes you dog-ear every other page because the dialogue is so unnecessarily clever and the descriptions sit right in your throat where you almost choke on them.

It’s not perfect. But it singlehandedly made me start reading again (heart in mouth 4 am reading, buying the ebook the second it comes out reading, crying at lines that shouldn’t be cried at reading), what put things in motion for me to make a funny little book blog called ravenvsfox

I can’t promise that you’ll like it, but I think the mess is beautiful & youthful and there are miles of slack to make it whatever you’d like. I hope you pick The Raven Boys up and see where they drive you in their stupid orange car.

why do y'all care about Namjoon so much?

why do we care about namjoon so much?

He is literally bts’ leader. and if that doesn’t seem like a relevant point to care about him, he literally gives his all for the group.

Honestly, Namjoon gets so much shit for every breath he takes. of course he did wrong things in the past, which none of us has the right to erase, but he has apologized for his wrongs and tried to make up for us with understanding lyrics showing just how much he changed. not to mention during interviews when you can see his speech has changed and he doesn’t say things he used to. yet, every single person throws shit at his direction and closes their eyes at everyone else’s mistakes inside the group.

Namjoon chose bts over his own solo career many times. he puts so much effort into composing and helping others and speaking up for the group. namjoon is the strongest connection between bangtan and international armys and no one appreciates that. no one else in the group is fluent in english and even though they try to communicate with us, namjoon is always the one who makes half a speech in english so we can feel loved and appreciated. he’s always trying his fucking best. remember the “rap monster, not dance monster”? that is fucking true. he shouldnt have to put himself into dancing and trying to keep up with the group’s dance machines, but there he is. he fucking tries his best. he could be inside an office with his IQ and doing other things but he puts his heart into music. he not even once lost his shit, even when he did wrong stuff and people bashed on him after apologies.

whenever he gets the spotlight for something nice, everyone comes up with that “oh but what about [insert member here]?????” like no. stop that shit. namjoon gets little to no recognition for his stuff. namjoon stans live hiding because they get shit for god knows what reason. stop trying to pick fights between the members. hoseok made a face while namjoon talked about being fluent in english and yall started making fun of namjoon and suddenly he wasnt nice for making all the speeches anymore. he was being “rude to the other members” like okay. so where were the other members speaking in english during every single interview? namjoon never forced them into speaking korean. as a matter of fact, he’d coax them into keep on speaking in english even with wrong grammar and pronounciation.

honestly namjoon does too much for no recognition. if there wasnt namjoon sticking up to his dream and holding everyone together ever since predebut, there would be no bangtan. just stop looking at your fave for one damn second and appreciate small things our leader does for us.

remember your fave looks up at him like a leading, father-like figure.

Planning out a Novel

Anonymous asked: “How do you plan a novel? What are the next steps after developing the main characters?”

First, I want to say that there is no right or wrong way to go about this. Some people use charts and drawings or really long lists, summaries for each chapter, or just have a general concept of what the ending looks like.

The most important thing to figure out, if you plan nothing else, is to know what the central conflict that will be addressed at the end of the novel will be. You don’t need to know what happens, what the fall out is, or anything like that, just what is the conflict the protagonist faces? This is usually a very difficult question to answer if you don’t have a solid premise yet or are in the early stages of planning.

A Kaneki/Touka parallel to Guts/Casca’s descent into Hell from Berserk?

Okay so, I actually got a few questions on the subject and I didn’t see anyone making a post about it (please tell me if someone actually did), so I might as well write one quickly. Apologies in advance for those I might slightly spoil about Berserk.

Death flag. I think that’s one of the words I saw the most everywhere that I looked today and frankly, even though I’m generally not bothering so much with death flags, I kind of have to admit that I got worried after reading this chapter because, well, it’s TG. And Ishida-sensei. So we’re used to crazy and violent things happening, especially right after something sweet occured.

But what’s the link with Berserk?

Well, first of all, Sensei made several references to Berserk before, mainly through Amon’s character (please see the following posts: [x] [x]), that were explicit enough to think that he might be a fan of the series.

Second thing, for those who are not familiar with it, Berserk is the story of Guts, a mercenary, who was once sacrificed by his close “friend” so that the latter could be reborn as a very powerful demon entity. Obviously that kind of broke their friendship, especially since the other dude didn’t just try to sacrifice Guts, but also cursed and heavily abused Casca, Guts’ lover, leaving her with a big trauma towards men as well as a regression into insanity.

So anyway (please read Berserk), when it comes to the link between that and :Re ch125, it turns out that a little before Guts and Casca went through absolute hell, they had the opportunity to share a very sweet and intimate moment, exactly like it happened between Touka and Kaneki for this week’s chapter…

…A moment that resulted of Guts and Casca honestly talking for the first time in a while and finally admitting to their feelings for each other, so again, a little like it happened between Kaneki and Touka ever since ch122.
EDIT: @lilylunac also saw the similarities between the two scenes! :)

Now obviously TG =/= Berserk, Kaneki =/= Guts, Ishida =/= Miura, but the two sensei still have this shared enjoyment that is to constantly inflict pain to their main character as they make them go through many hardships and, as I was saying above, the fact that so many TG readers are now bracing themselves for something terrible to happen, because ch125 was really sweet and positive in comparison to a lot of shit that Kaneki (and Touka) went through, makes me think that we learnt our lesson long ago.

So yes, as it happens, daily happiness never really lasts for long in TG, especially not when Kaneki still has a lot of personal issues to sort out and a lot of self-reflection to do (and especially not when the current main villain is aiming to fly the TG plane into an ocean of blood), but guess what, it’s exactly the same for Berserk, happiness never lasts long for Guts either.

So, it is very probable that shit will go down soon in TG, if just because we could have an arc paralleling the Anteiku raid arc next, as many fans already explained and as Juuzou also implied…

…which would make the new relationship between Kaneki & Touka (and the sweet chapter of this weekend) the last positive moment to behold (both for us fans and for Kaneki) before Kaneki, Touka and the rest of Kaneki’s side might be separated and hurt/injured by Furuta’s side.

To be honest, I have no idea where TG will start again next week, but here’s what I understand from the recent developments:

  • Furuta has Kanou and Kanou’s future dead army
  • Furuta has the Oggai
  • Furuta has V on his side (as far as we know)
  • Furuta has a good part of the CCG still ready to obey his command
  • Furuta is loved by most of the public opinion in TG (those fanclubs :/)
  • The Clowns might fight for Furuta’s side again (unsure)
  • A parallel to the Anteiku raid arc would mean a lot of blood and possible deaths
  • Furuta wants to watch the world burn and for Kaneki to die

Meanwhile Kaneki…

  • has issues to solve and for now doesn’t make for a good leading figure as the OEK
  • has less manpower than Furuta and way less deadly weapons (as far as we know)
  • is supposedly dead for a good part of the world, which means he can’t really gain new allies amongst ghouls
  • might be joined by the Clowns at some point (unsure)
  • might have CCG deserters (Juuzou, Urie and co) joining him (unsure again)
  • also Mutsuki is a bit insane and has a real grudge against Touka, which means they’ll face off again, definitely

TL;DR Kaneki doesn’t have the odds in his favor, for now at least, especially since he doesn’t really appear to have a good plan, which is why an arc similar to the Anteiku raid one definitely sounds like bad news and a lot of pain.

To be honest, I don’t know if Sensei really decided to include explicit lovemaking between Kaneki and Touka before shit might really go down as a parallel to Berserk and Guts/Casca, or if he found that the idea of a young love being tried by all sorts of madness was simply interesting, but… there is one more possible parallel that made me think of Gutsca, as I read the new :Re chapter.

See, it’s a spoiler (sorry :/) but Guts and Casca actually conceived a child during that one moment of bliss that they shared, a child that unfortunately got cursed to have a really sad fate, and it just so happens that the cover of :Re ch122…

… triggered many theories about Touka possibly becoming pregnant, with the pregnancy unfortunately not going and ending very well (please read these posts [x] [x]).

Personally, I don’t really have much of an opinion about a possible pregnancy, if just because I don’t know if Kaneki can even reproduce in the first place (that is a very debated question within the fandom), but I have to admit that the pregnancy idea crossed my mind during ch125 more than it did with ch122 because…

So in conclusion, I can’t be certain that Sensei was influenced by Berserk when he decided to write ch125, but I suppose that it could be a possibility considering that he added references to Berserk before. I guess it might depend on what happened next in :Re and on if Touka actually becomes pregnant or not. Also please note that this is a possible parallel of situation, not a parallel of dynamics or of characters.

I hope this post was informative for the few people who were interested by the subject. Feel free to ask if anything is unclear!

“Then who is running the city?” said William.
“I don’t know,” said Mr. Slant. “That is not my concern. I–”
“Mr. Goodmountain?” said William. “Large type, please.”
“Got you,” said the dwarf. His hand hovered over a fresh case.
“In caps, size to fit, ‘Who Runs Ankh-Morpork?’“ said William. “Now into body type, upper and lowercase, across two columns: ‘Who is governing the city while Lord Vetinari is imprisoned? Asked for an opinion today, a leading legal figure said he did not know and it was no concern of his. Mr. Slant of the Lawyers’ Guild went on to say–’“
“You can’t put that in your newspaper!” barked Slant.
“Set that directly, please, Mr. Goodmountain.”
“Setting it already,” said the dwarf, the leaden slugs clicking into place. Out of the corner of his eye William saw Otto emerging from the cellar and looking puzzled at the noise.
“‘Mr. Slant went on to say…’?” said William, glaring at the lawyer.
“You will find it very hard to print that,” said Mr. Carney, ignoring the lawyer’s frantic hand signals, “with no damn press!”
“‘…was the view of Mr. Carney of the Guild of Engravers,’ spelled with an e before the y,” said William, “‘who earlier today tried to put the Times out of business by means of an illegal document.’“ William realized that, although his mouth felt full of acid, he was enjoying this immensely. “‘Asked for his opinion of this flagrant abuse of the city laws, Mr. Slant said…’?”
“STOP TAKING DOWN EVERYTHING WE SAY!” yelled Slant.
“…Full caps for the whole sentence please, Mr. Goodmountain.”

“Like elder brother and younger brother”

(Shoma and Keiji’s interview in Quadruple 2017 Extra magazine. Thanks to @chestnutskating for the scans!)

Shoma Uno and Keiji Tanaka have been leading Japanese men’s figure skating since they were juniors, and they finished gold and silver at this season’s Japanese Nationals. Their joint interview became a reality after they finished their segments at Worlds. We got a sneak peak into the 19 and 23 year olds’ raw, true selves which we do not get to see most of the time.

– Well done at the World Championships. Were you in the same room this time?

K + S: Nope, we weren’t.

S: We haven’t roomed together much since we became seniors right?

K: Nope, not normally.

– You roomed together frequently when you were juniors.

S: Yep, that’s right.

K: We did room a lot when we were juniors.

Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever. -James O’Barr

No Strings Attached: Pt. 3

Pairing: Kol x Reader

Warnings: None

Word Count: 2173

PART ONE | PART TWO

The cab ride to the Mikaelson Compound felt terribly long. You had the need to just blow up Kol’s phone with calls and texts. But, you knew better that he would only ignore them so instead, you held back.

You gazed out the window and started slightly shaking your right leg from being so impatient to arrive at your destination already. We’re you really in danger or is it possible that Kol got jealous? Surely enough, you won’t stop until your question gets answered.

Finally after what felt like forever, you have arrived. You paid the cab driver with cash, letting him keep the rest of your change as you rushed out. Thank goodness Hope was spending the night at Hayley and Jackson’s apartment because you planned on raising hell once you got inside.

“Kol!” You shouted as you marched inside the compound. “Kol effing Mikaelson!”

Klaus and Elijah just happened to be sitting at the table exchanging words while drinking scotch. “Oh, hey guys.” You greeted, then went back to using your eyes to scan around the compound. “I know you can hear me!”

Just as you grabbed onto the railing to walk upstairs, Klaus stops you to get a word in. “And may I ask what my little brother did this time? It seems that bloke has a habit of getting himself into a mess.” If you had eyes in the back of your head, you would be able to see the amused look Klaus has on his face. The tone in his voice says it all.

“Long story, Klaus.” You weren’t in the mood to vent.

“I assume you’ve been drinking, miss Y/N? I can smell the alcohol in your breath from here.” Elijah said.

“Yup. Your sisters too.” You continued to make your way up the stairs without caring if Klaus and Elijah wanted to add on or not, you needed to speak with Kol.

After looking in room after room, you found Kol hanging out on the patio taking his time drinking out of a blood bag.

“Okay so you’re playing the ignoring game now?I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s going on.” You spat, stopping just a few feet behind him crossing your arms in front of you.

Kol sighed before speaking. “You don’t give up do you?” He turned to face you, setting the now empty blood bag on the nearby table.

You made no answer. “Fine.” Kol sassed then continued, “Well go on, let’s have a seat.” He pointed over at the bed since his bedroom didn’t have any chairs or couches available to sit on. You swallowed, then followed through, perching yourself at the edge of his bed as Kol did too.

“Okay, so?” You questioned, keeping your eyes on him.

“I suppose, seeing you with that vile man made me uneasy. I wanted to snap his neck the moment I saw him speak to you. But seeing as Marcel has these rules, I simply cannot.” Kol said.

“First of all, that man was very polite to me. And secondly, how in the world did it make you feel so uncomfortable that you just had to ruin our night out?” You asked, fixing him with a stare as you await your answer.

“I’m aware that we had these bloody rules about not allowing ourselves to feel feelings for each other. I mentally punish myself for it everyday.”

“Um what?”

Kol took a deep breath. “I, Kol Mikaelson, have unintentionally fallen for my…fuck buddy.” He admitted while forcing a smile.

You stifled a laugh and fell silent for just a moment. If you could, you’d pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming. How in the hell did you get so lucky?

“My apologies, darling. I know this is uncomfortable for you since it’s obvious you’re to trying to move forward with your life and all.” Kol stood up off the bed, he frowned, feeling embarrassed because he assumed you don’t feel the same way he does. “You asked, so I answered.”

“Oh no no no. I’m just processing this right now. Sit back down.” You patted your hand next to you on the firm mattress. “So when I told you yesterday that I wanted to start dating again. I actually don’t.”

Not a word came out of Kol. He just sat there trying to read your facial expressions.

“I ended up having feelings for you too, but since we made that stupid vow, I thought you followed it.” You confessed.

“Why not bother telling me, Y/N?” Kol questioned, resting his hand on top of yours.

“I could say the same to you, Kol.” You blurted, then softened your tone of voice. “But I hate rejection, so, I figured if I just distanced myself, the feelings would go away, you know?”

“I understand, love. Well since that’s all in order, what shall we do?” Kol quickly lightened the mood. He can’t ever be in his feelings for too long or else he’d go crazy.

You stretched, then made yourself comfortable on the bed by resting your head on the pillow. “I don’t know, you tell me.”

Even though Kol ruined your planned night out, you couldn’t help but get over it, especially since he looks so hot in his button up and you were still a little buzzed. Laying in his bed gave you dirty thoughts of all the sex you had with him. You flirted with the idea of Kol being on top of you right now. And of course, since you were his play thing for those last couple of months, you knew exactly how to get him in the mood.

You brushed your hair with your fingers to one side and teasingly bit your bottom lip, hoping it wouldn’t look too obvious that you’re trying.

“You’re a daft one, Y/N.” Kol chuckled, then crawled over to place himself on top of you. He planted his lips on yours which led to a hot and steamy kiss. You started to wrap your legs around his waist until all of a sudden, he stops and pulls back, giving you a devilish grin.

“Um, what’s wrong?” You questioned.

“Sorry, but that’s all you get, love.” Kol made known with that grin plastered all over his face.

“You’re annoying.” You scoffed and moved him off of you so that you can sit up on the bed.

“Oh don’t be so cross with me. Now that we both fancy each other on a deeper level, you’re going to have to work for it, darling.”

At first you didn’t understand, but you realized that Kol did have a point. “Yup, you’re right. So how do we approach this then?”

Kol took a second to think about it and then an imaginary light bulb appeared over his head. “I have a thought. How about I take you on a date or two and we move from there?”

“I’d love that.” The smile on your face could be seen from a mile away. You leaned over to give Kol a kiss on the cheek. “Pick me up tomorrow night at 7:00.”

“Brilliant.” Kol agreed.

You left the room so that you could end your night with Kol at that. Waking downstairs, you can still see Klaus and Elijah in the same spot. “Great.” You mouthed to yourself.

“Where’s Kol? Ah, let me guess. You rid of him with that dagger?” Klaus implied, taking a sip of his bourbon. Elijah just sat there and decided to mind his own business this time by keeping his opinions to himself.

“Ha. Ha. Very funny.” You joked, then walked out the front so that you could wait outside for your cab. There was no way you were going to wait in the middle of the compound for your cab with Klaus. You were tired and just wanted to go home and get some rest.

As you were waiting, you thought about how excited you are to go on your first date with Kol. You mentally crossed your fingers hoping that this leads to something amazing.

(The First Date…)

You never thought of Kol being the romantic type. Who can blame you though because you were so used to being his booty call that being viewed as something much more will take some getting used to.

The night sky was pitch black as the time is a quarter to 9. Kol told you to dress up and have you meet him at his house. Arriving there, there was a stranger on the driveway dressed in a suit who had special instructions on where you to lead you. You figured Kol had compelled this man.

The man led you towards the backyard in a path that led to the trees which had beautiful lights and lanterns wrapped around and hanging. The end of the path brought you to a table meant for two with high end looking plates and utensils. The table was also minimally decorate with well lit candle and rose in the center of the table. The best part about it, is seeing Kol sitting at the table waiting especially for you.

“Hello, darling. You made it.” Kol smiled, then he got up to pull your chair out for you.

“I mean of course. But oh wow. You did all of this?” You sat down, still looking around amazed with everything.

“I may or may not have compelled someone to help me.”

“Of course you did.” You rolled your eyes at him playfully.

It didn’t take long for the compelled butler (as you call him) to bring out a cart filled with 3 course meals. “Not too shabby.” You commented.

After lots of food and laughter, the night ended successfully. Kol walked you to the car and innocently planted a kiss on the forehead. Butterflies took over your stomach on your drive home and you laid in bed with a gigantic smile on your face.

(Several Dates Later…)

It has been almost a month now that you and Kol had agreed on this whole ‘dating’ thing. To the fortune of both of you, everything has been going great and you were just dying to have sex with him already. You were hoping he was thinking the same thing too.

Today is your day off, so you decided to invite yourself over to the Mikaelson Compound to hang out with Kol. The plan was to watch a couple of movies and maybe even spend some time with Hope if she isn’t with her mom and Jackson. Today would also be the first time that the both of you had alone time in his room since this all started since Kol’s been really strict on taking you out on dates only.

Walking in, you see Rebekah playing with Hope. Kol was just hanging out on the chair scrolling through his phone. It looked as if he was doing it to kill time as he waited on you. “Hey guys.” You announced.

“Hi, Y/N.” Rebekah greeted you, then went back to smothering Hope in kisses.

After Kol heard your name, he looked up and put his phone in his pocket. “Ah, darling. It’s about time you arrived.” Kol stated, greeting you with a hug and a long kiss on the lips.

“Oh you two lovebirds.” Rebekah stopped to compliment.

“So, I brought my favorite Tim Burton movies that we can watch.” You said to Kol, pulling the movies out of your bag for Kol to see, then put it back inside. You would love to give Hope some of your attention, but whenever Rebekah is here, she always tends to hog her.

“Whatever you like.” Kol said while looking at you with loving eyes.

Of course movie time meant cuddling in Kol’s bed under the warm blanket. 30 minutes into the movie, Kol had his hand over your thigh. It wasn’t long until the temptation got to him which led him to slowly traveling his hand high towards your core. Since you’re the one that’s probably wanted it more than him, you were more than happy to allow Kol to do whatever he wanted to you.

You started breathing heavily and let out light moans while he slowly rubbed his fingers in circles through your panties. One thing led to another and the next thing you know, the both of you were ripping each others clothes off.

Before getting too aggressive, Kol stopped himself so that he can take his time with you. This was a first considering when you two were friends with benefits, you were practically attacking each other. But this moment, at this pace was a euphoric experience.

You’ve never made love to anyone like you’ve done with him and you have the confidence to say that he’s the best you ever had, enough to put you to sleep. As Kol was spooning you while you were asleep, he made sure to kiss you goodnight. “So much for finishing this movie, love.” He whispered in your ear.
