Ridiculous Pontmercy gifs, since I had the day off and decided to mess around with cosplay today.
(The reason it’s in German is just that that was the closest copy of the Brick I could find, and I was too lazy to hunt down an English version to flip through.)
“Nur mit dir, Cosette, erwärmt sich die Welt…” or “Life without Cosette means nothing at all…”, from the musical. (Fun fact: literally translated, the German is ‘Only with you, Cosette, does the world grow warmer.’)
“ICH WILL BEI DIR ÜBERNÄCHTEN!” or, as it’s usually translated, “I HAVE COME TO SLEEP WITH YOU!” (Book)
“Was gibt es größeres als dies?” “Frei zu sein,” or “What greater thing is there?” “To be free.” Also known as the scene where Marius gets rekt.
“Und Ich vernehm’ sie noch…” or “And I can hear them now…” from Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (musical).
“The positive nature of Cabiria is so wonderful. Cabiria offers herself to the lowest bidder and hears truth in the lies.
Though she is a prostitute, her basic instinct is to search for
happiness as best she can, but she has not been dealt a good hand. She
wants to change, but she has been typecast in life as a loser. Yet she
is a loser who always goes on to look again for some happiness.” –Federico Fellini
Hii! Recently I was listening too dilliwali girlfriend from yeh jawaani hai deewani and that I realised that it (especially in certain parts)) weirdly fits Arnav and Khushi a lot. Thoughts?
I’ve never thought of them when I’ve heard the song, but I can see it, especially in these lines:
Teri galli mein bhi aana start kar diya Ik tere naam apna heart kar diya Karne laga aankh matakka Ab toh aashiq ban gaya pakka
Aaj abhi maine tera boycott kar diya Teri saari harqatein main toh note karu Tujhe thaane mein le jaake main report karu
Unasked for opinion: the song is about a man wanting praise for leaving his other girlfriends to chase after this girl, who doesn’t seem to want him anyway. Now, I have no issue with people dating and having serious relationships prior to marriage or whatever, but to want praise for deciding to be exclusive seems a bit weird to me.
