layout web

It is finally completed and I’m ready to start yelling. And crying.

I loved this series with my whole heart and of course I had to do what I’m better at - which is definitely not writing - so, I ended up making this layout even if I really didn’t plan to make a new one.

Once again, I went with my forte points - scratchy/paper style, monochrome + an additional color and typography. Can’t tell I’m entirely satisfied (bc come on, when was I like really proud or satisfied of my work? right, n e v e r) but it’s not that bad either. I guess it’s quite acceptable. *shrugs*

There’s A Nap For That

Based on this post: “If you both agree to take a nap instead of going out, it’s a date.”

Or: The one where Bellamy and Clarke keep taking naps together. You know, platonically. See also: Let Them Rest

A/N: I started this before New Years and thought it would be done in like, three days. Oh how naive. But hey, here we are!

Clarke doesn’t plan to be alone on New Year’s Eve, but she also doesn’t plan not to be alone–if that makes sense. She could fly back to Los Angeles and attend her mother’s extravagant corporate party, if she wanted to put herself through that. It’s definitely an option.

But she’s long since decided that it’s better to deal with the vague feelings of missing out on the New Year’s celebration over fielding questions about why she’s not following in her mother’s footsteps or, god forbid, whether she’s gotten over that whole sexuality thing yet.

So she calls Abby the night before the party, fulfills her yearly, good-daughter quota of well wishes and pleasantries, and calls it good.

And really, doing nothing on New Year’s Eve is kind of the best thing that’s happened her, stress-wise, in the last six months.

She works in the graphic design department for an uber-trendy website that facilitates commissions for freelance artists, which makes it an incredibly lucrative avenue to get her name out there in the industry. It just also happens that the company is very concerned with staying up-to-date with aesthetic trends, and has her changing logos and web layouts on a weekly basis.

It’s the kind of somewhat crappy, over demanding job that she feels weirdly excited to have, because it means her mom isn’t paying people to make her life easier.

But it has been running her to the bone, so she’s positively delighted to do absolutely nothing for a night.

Or she is until she finds out that Bellamy also doesn’t have plans for New Year’s Eve.

06.18.17 // It’s easy for me to get caught up in the aesthetic side of the studyblr world. Putting together pretty layouts is fun. But today, I’m here to share the technical side of studyblr. I’m here to talk about how I work. I’m in the web development field, and while I favor back-end development, I’m working on building an all-around skill set. I really enjoy being able to casually work on a project, rather than full blown sessions at a computer. I also love the ability to change up my work area, and go to coffee shops to work. I work best when I’m not distracted by tasks to do at home.

The Tools I do 90% of my coding on my iPad Air 2, which allows me to be extremely mobile. I use a Clamcase keyboard, which serves as both a keyboard and a stand for my iPad. Let me go on a quick rant about keyboards for iPads. I searched far and wide for keyboards for my iPad. Because I type way faster than I write, I used my iPad as my note-taking tool. My biggest complaint was that my iPad would fall off of my keyboard due to the tiny desks in university classrooms. It drove me absolutely crazy. Because the Clamcase actually holds the iPad in a frame, the iPad stays secure with no risk of falling out. I also rely on my iPhone when designing webpages, because who wants a webpage that isn’t optimized for mobile? Not this gal! I also have a Mac that I use for more intense CSS and layout, because nothing replaces Web Inspector.

The apps:
-Prompt: Prompt is a handy little SSH console that takes place of Terminal. I often use it to communicate with MySQL, since I haven’t installed phpMyAdmin. I wanted to learn the ability to communicate with MySQL without using the easier web interface.
-Transmit: This app allows me to manage files on my server. Quite a handy little tool.
-Textastic: This code editor is a life saver. It provides colored guides for the syntax of my choice (which really helps me check for mistakes), and allows me to upload to my server in the app.

I hope this gives a small look into how I work!

A few changes

Hi, everyone. As Domhnall season is approaching, I’m trying to improve this blog. So I changed the web layout, and I’m working on a new tagging system, which hopefully will make it easier for you to navigate through this blog. I’m still going through the archive to tag old posts as we speak, and will continue working on them for the next several days or probably weeks (it’s such a mess, I’m amazed that so many of you put up with this huge mess of a blog, seriously, thank you).

Also, from now on the content will be 100% Domhnall, no more Adam or Star Wars cast (don’t worry, I still love them and you can find me blogging Star Wars cast on my main @kylemclachlan). However, I will keep my old non-Domhnall posts here for archival purposes.

That’s all for now. Thank you and have a nice day!

Happy AoKaga Month 2016!

So, it’s finally that time of year when AoKaga fandom blooms like a beautiful bunch of flowers with hundred of fanfics, drabbles, fanarts of every kind, from kinky and dirty/badwrong/ bdsm-ish to fluffy and stupidly romantic ones. It’s my first AoKaga month, so I’m extra excited, like super super excited to see all the things prepared by this wonderful fandom, and also to contribute by myself with a fiction or some graphics (literally the only things I’m capable of OTL I wish I could draw /sobs/) This layout itself is kind of a contribution to AoKaga month, so if I made someone happy by making it, know that I’m like 100 times more happy than you are, ‘cause it is just wonderful, alright. I need to stop my gross sobbing while writing this- Seriously, just wtf is wrong with me, I’m way too sensitive. ANYWAY, ENJOY AOKAGA MONTH, FELLOW AOKAGA SHIPPERS!

Mottiva is a new academy of studies specializing in science. For this project we developed naming, corporate identity, and the graphic campaign. Soon we will show you the web and layout of the premises.

Mottiva es una nueva academia de estudios especializada en ciencias.
Para este proyecto desarrollamos el naming, identidad visual corporativa y la campaña gráfica. Próximamente os mostraremos la web y el diseño del local.

Naming: After studying the sector we realized that one of the main factors in a student’s success is the motivation to face future challenges. Without motivation, there is no effort and without effort, it is very difficult to get the desired results.

Visual identity: Objects associated with the sector as a Bic pen, fluorescent markers, or the typical straightedge (stencil) we all remember from our childhood gave us guidelines to create the IVC. We customize a stencil typeface reminiscent of this school straightedge. Used chromatic range is the same blue from Bic pens. Finally, we used as a supplementary element colors fluorine of the markers/highlighters that “decorate” the notes to highlight the most important thing.

The corporate stationery plays with these elements as well as geometric shapes, while posters excels thanks to the flashy colors fluorine and motivating messages that accompany them, highlighting so the goal of this academy, motivate their students to achieve their academic goals.
