“Barba, we apprehended the suspect.” Benson said over the phone. “You’re going to want to add shooting a police officer to the charges” She continued and any celebration Barba had been feeling was pushed out by dread.
“Who?” Barba asked, not wanting to hear the answer. All he could think was ‘not him, not him, please, don’t let it be him’, over and over like a mantra, like a prayer.
“Carisi” Liv replied, sounding defeated.
Rafael felt like he had been punched in the gut, unable to breathe and he could feel a deep painful ache in his chest. “Which hospital?” he said, barely able to get the words out.
Benson didn’t ask why he wanted to know, she’d teased him too many times about Rafaels feelings for the detective to play dumb now. “Mount Sinai. Rafa, he’s going to be okay” she added, but Barba could barely hear her over the roaring in his ears as he pulled on his coat and rushed out the door, calling a car as he did.
His head was buzzing the entire ride to the hospital. He kept trying to remind himself that Liv had said he was going to be okay, but then his mind would always drift to Dodds. How everyone had thought he would pull through and within the hour he had been dead. And he couldn’t bare for that to happen with Carisi, Carisi who deserved so much better than to die like that. Carisi, who still didn’t know how Rafael felt about him. Carisi, who Rafael had been so scared of, so certain he would break his heart, but it seemed he didn’t even have to let him in for Carisi to have that power.
Pairing: Peter Stone x Reader Word Count: 1.3k Warning: smut…
“Hello, Carmen.” You smile, greeting Carmen as you walk up to Peter’s office door. “How are you this morning?”
“I’m fine thank you. How are you?” She asks with that bright smile she always greets you with.
“I’m great, Peter left some stuff at home which gives me a proper excuse to pop in.” You snicker at yourself. “Is he in?”
“Yes, he is.” She nods toward the door.
“Thank you.” You smile and head toward his office door, opening it and peeking inside. “Hey, handsome.”
“Hey!” He smiles, standing up and making his way toward you as you step inside the office. “What are you doing here?”
“You forgot these at home, I figured you might need them.” You pull two files from your purse and hold them out to him.
“I thought I got those.” He takes the files from you and opens them up seeing that they are in fact, the files he thought he picked up off his desk in his home office. “Then what are these?” He turns walking to the leather briefcase you bought him for Christmas.
Digging through the bag he pulls out two matching manilla folders. He lays them on the desk and opens them up. You snicker watching his eyes go wide in surprise before closing the yellow folders. Slowly, he looks back up at you, eyes dark and a humored smirk on his face.
Casey: Casey would get jealous very easily. She’d always be a bit suspicious of your friends. It’s not that she doesn’t trust you. She trusts you completely, it’s just other people she’s wary of.
Munch: Of course he’d get jealous. He’d constantly think you’d be willing to leave him for a younger man. You wouldn’t, though. You’re loyal to him and you’d never leave him.
Olivia: Olivia would say she doesn’t get jealous, but she does. Especially of people you’re friends with that she doesn’t know. She’d always see how close you are to them and have to remind herself that they aren’t a threat.
