“I had a good time.” The words slipped from your mouth with ease as you finally came to a slow stop before your quarters, the cold metal of the door seeping through the silk dress you wore as you pulled your fingers free from Leonard.

Derek’s been letting his job dictate his life ever since he was promoted from freelance photographer to official travel photographer. In his five years of travel, he’s built relationships in countries all across the globe, yet he still returns home after each job as lonely as ever. When he decides to try out the pen pal site Laura recommends to him, he doesn’t know what to expect. Derek isn’t prepared for Stiles, a small town guy with big dreams of seeing the world. And he certainly isn’t prepared to fall in love with him. He has to remind himself that this is just a pen pal thing and not to get carried away. It’s not like Stiles could ever like him back.

He finds his way to New York where he starts working for the Hale House Nursery, accidentally adopts a werewolf baby (through no fault of his own thank-you-very-much), and somehow starts training to be an Exorcist Emissary. So, in general, life was going good.

Then he hears that demons have found their way into his hometown. Can he face his inner demons and go back to save the day?

There is an uneasy truce between the werewolves in the woods and the humans who live in Beacon Hills, protected by a magical boundary that gives warning any time a werewolf crosses it. Then the sheriff is taken by the werewolves and his son offers himself in exchange.

Stiles promises to serve the werewolf pack, not knowing what horrible use they might have for him. But it turns out his most useful skill is the ability to cross the boundary line between humans and werewolves. Life with the werewolves is nothing like he feared and the werewolves themselves are nothing like the hunters’ stories would have him believe.

Sylvie was loading up supplies, glad that Trout had briefly left her side to go inside and grab a few things. Gabby called off last minute due to sickness, so Sylvie got chatty Trout for the day. She enjoyed to talk, but it seemed like he never shut up.

She heard footsteps approaching. Assuming it was Trout, she began speaking. “Okay, so do you have—” The words faded away as she turned around, surprised to not see her temporary partner. Instead, it was Antonio and, what Sylvie guessed was his investigator partner. “Oh. Hi.” She lamely said.

Their badges shown brightly despite the night sky. They were here for business. Even though she was sure she did nothing wrong, it is always nerve-wracking to be interviewed.

“Hey, Sylvie.” Antonio greeted her, and then gestured to the woman next to him. “This is Laura Nagel.”

Sylvie held out her hand. “It’s nice to meet you.” Laura took her hand warily, it was obvious that making pleasantries wasn’t on the top of her mind.

“So what’s going on?” She questioned, setting the rest of the supplies in her right hand on the vehicle. “I’m not a suspect, am I?” She joked. “Um, sorry.”

Antonio cracked a smile at her nervousness, but his partner didn’t seem amused. “We’re hear to ask you about Justin Wilkes, do you remember bringing him in with Gabby?”

Sylvie racked through her brain. “Oh yeah, I can remember. He was unconscious, but his breathing wasn’t labored, his pulse was normal, and his pupils were reactive. On the way to the hospital, I administered a saline line.” She tried to think of any other details she could have missed, but that was pretty much it. It was a rather simple call. “Other than that, he was just drunk.” She shrugged. She then rose an eyebrow at them, wondering what all of this was about. “Why are you asking?” She directed her question at Antonio.

“Justin is dead.” He told her, arms crossed over his chest.

Sylvie couldn’t hold back her surprise. His state when they got the call wasn’t enough for fatality. “That doesn’t make any sense—” She began to stutter. Did they miss something?

“No, no.” Antonio shook his head and reached a hand out, but then thought better of it and returned it back to his side. “From what we’re hearing, you didn’t do anything—” His phone buzzed, catching his attention. When he looked down at it, he frowned and cursed. “Fuck!”

Sylvie was intrigued, but kept quiet. Laura leaned over his shoulder. “Damn.” She muttered, not as big of a reaction as Antonio’s, but was enough to spike Sylvie’s curiosity even more.

Before she could bring herself to ask, Antonio spoke. “Guess we have to go see Kevin Atwater next.”

Sylvie’s heart dropped at that. Kevin was one of the nicest guys she knew, and judging by Antonio’s reaction, his involvement in this case could potentially be bad. “You don’t think….” She couldn’t help but whisper, eyes widening with shock. Kevin couldn’t have possibly murdered Justin!

“You can't—” Laura began to protest against her asking, but Antonio answered her question anyways.

“We are just talking to him, that doesn’t mean anything.” He assured her. Sylvie nodded, hoping he was right.

“If you could, would you potentially be a witness—” Laura began to ask.

“That won’t be necessary.” Antonio interrupted, shaking his head.

Sylvie frowned. If Kevin was potentially the suspect, then she wanted to do whatever she could to help. “There’s a difference in opinion here, and since I think your reason is strictly personal, I’m listening to Laura.”

“We aren’t a thing anymore, Antonio.” She gently interrupted him. “I appreciate you caring, I really do, but if this could possibly help, then why wouldn’t I be willing to do it? And why would you want to stop me?”

He sighed, clearly frustrated. “We’re only toes deep into this, we came to you for a simple explanation. You aren’t needed anymore, Sylvie.”

Her eyes narrowed, taken slightly off guard by his fierce, blunt tone. She turned towards Laura. “Well then. It was lovely to meet you, Laura. Good luck with this stubborn mule.” She threw an angry hand towards Antonio’s direction. “And with this case. Contact me if you need me.”

She turned back to the ambulance, putting her attention to the supplies, reordering them even though she was already done. But she stopped when the footsteps walking away finally were too far for her to hear. And when she let herself look behind her shoulder, Antonio and Laura were gone.

“Well that was interesting.” Nagel said as soon as they got into the car.

Antonio was not in the mood. “Don’t talk about it.” He snapped, starting the ignition. “It has nothing to do with work—”

“It can if she is one of our witnesses on the stand—” Laura argued back.

“Fucking hell, Nagel! She is not going near that damn stand!” Antonio exploded, angrier than she has ever seen him. “End of discussion.”

“Dawson. At least tell me who the hell this woman is…” Nagel sighed, beginning to get irritated herself. Yes, if this was a hundred percent personal life issue she wouldn’t be pressing for information, but he was brought it into work life with denying a potential witness.

“She’s my ex girlfriend.” He muttered, keeping his eyes on the road. “We were acquaintances for years, she’s my sister’s paramedic partner.” He explained. “Long story short, we broke up, but left things open ended to come back to later.”

“I mean it’s obvious you still have feelings for her.” Nagel commented, tapping her fingers against the glass. “But what’s the big deal with her being on the stand or not—”

“I was a cop for years.” He interrupted her, shaking his head. “Witnesses are targets, sometimes they end up roughed with, or even killed.”

“I don’t think this case—”

“I don’t care what kind of case we are dealing with.” He firmly stated. “Sylvie is not getting up there. And if she goes to you privately, please, please say no. I’m begging you. And I’m not the begging type.“

Nagel sighed. "Fine. I’ll leave your precious girlfriend alone.”

“She’s not my girlfriend.”

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that.” Nagel rolled her eyes, as they pulled into the police department.

6. Cornerstone by Vendelin

Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else.

7. Play Crack the Sky by WeAreTheCyclones

Excerpt from “Hale Pulls the Plug on the Future of Rock,” Rolling Stone, Issue 1203 – Oct. 2014
“Fans and music industry vets alike are left reeling in the wake of bassist Derek Hale’s sudden departure from Smokes for Harris. At a time when the foursome from Beacon Hills, California seems to be on the cusp of rock superstardom after just one double platinum record, Smokes has everything to lose.”

Excerpt from “Smokes for Harris: Gladiator,” – Feb. 2015
“Smokes for Harris gives in a little to the pop punk of yesteryear in their sophomore effort, but rather than pandering to fans of a lost era they elevate the genre in a way that hasn’t been seen in quite some time. Frontman Stiles Stilinski works double duty as singer and primary songwriter and proves that he can handle the task even without former bassist Derek Hale.“

8. Stiles’s Story Time by trilliath

Where Stiles is a librarian who is in charge of the kids’ reading hour and such. And Derek is 6-year-old Scott’s adoptive dad. And Stiles has his own take on Stories and Scott loves wolves and Derek tries not to admit that he likes the way Stiles’s face looks in those glasses.
Or something like that.

9. Dating Backwards by RemainNameless

Pornstars Derek and Stiles work for the same company. Derek only shoots with werewolves and Stiles only shoots with humans. That’s not going to change after they meet. It’s really not.
(It might.)

10. Gravity’s Got Nothing On You by zosofi

“Three weeks,” Derek says.

“Still don’t want to,” Stiles says.

“I’ll pay you,” Derek says, and that… that has Stiles interested. Alf’s Antique’s may be a great job, but it’s not a high-paying job, and half of Stiles’s tuition is coming from financial aid, so…

“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.“

“My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”

“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal.

@bigironbigiron from this

It was pure luck that Laura knew the small town so well, an area she had explored thoroughly with Valentine on the hunt for Eddie Winter… She knew damn well they wouldn’t be able to take the mutants on at the moment; they had no higher ground to fight from and her bag was getting too damn heavy to efficiently fight with it on. A decision had to be made, so she made it- even if it was a tight squeeze, she didn’t care. They might actually live to see another day.

She was breathing heavily, the adrenaline singing through her veins. She might have tried to fight if she had faced off against them on her own, but having another life tied to her own prevented most of the reckless behavior she’d exhibited as of late…

As Laura’s heart raced, she felt Daniel’s hand on her head, apparently holding it… And then gripping her hair just a bit too tight.

“Ow, ow, fuck-” A shallow shake of her head didn’t help, so she glanced to his expression as best she could, confusion etched into her expression. “What? We’re alive… What are you going on about?”

anonymous asked:

Saturday was Stiles and Erica’s day to gossip and by gossip, they meant they’d have coffee at their favorite cafe by the sheriff’s station and commiserate about their coworkers and classes.

It was their way of catching up, having no classes together this semester and barely having time to sleep between school and work let alone hang out with friends during weekdays.

So every Saturday morning around ten they’d meet at the cafe, greet the owner Laura, order their drinks―a vanilla latte for Erica and a caramel macchiato for Stiles―and claim a table where they’d spend the next few hours talking before parting, Stiles ordering a few coffees and some muffins or donuts to bring to the station.

This morning Stiles had deviated from his usual routine, unable to resist ordering one of the delectable chocolate donuts in the display case on the counter. Erica had teased him about cheating on the diet he’d adopted along with the Sheriff after the doctor diagnosed his dad with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Stiles had shushed her and threatened to stick her with the check next weekend if she didn’t swear herself to silence. Erica had mimed zipping her lips and tossing the key over her shoulder, smirking as she picked an empty table for them.

They’d immediately launched into a heated discussion about their upcoming finals, bemoaning the essays they had yet to finish. Erica suggested they drop out and become strippers. Stiles wholeheartedly agreed.

They were joking about their potential stripper stage names―Erica deciding on Goldie and Stiles torn between Little Red and Bambi―when Stiles found himself suddenly distracted. An unfamiliar, absolutely gorgeous man had walked passed their table, the black apron tied around his waist identifying him as an employee.

Though not usually one to ogle, Stiles couldn’t help himself when the man leaned over to wipe down another table, his ass on blatant display. The tight black he was wearing perfectly hugged the tight globes of his ass, accentuating his impressive posterior and nearly making Stiles drool.

“Stiles!” Erica barked, startling Stiles out of his rubbernecking reverie. He turned to her, eyebrows raised in question, trying to look as innocent as he possibly could after being caught gawking at someone’s ass. “Geez, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Stiles flushed and took a sip of his macchiato, hoping Erica wouldn’t press the issue.

“Anyway,” she continued, shaking her head, “I definitely vote for Bambi.”

“Looks like you’ve got yourself an admirer, Der,” Laura teased as Derek returned to the cafe’s kitchen, immediately slipping on a pair of oven mitts and pulling a tray of muffins out of the oven. He sent her an unamused glare as he closed the oven door.

“Relax,” she laughed, flapping a hand around to wave off his concern. “It’s just Stiles.”

“Wait, what? Stiles?” Derek asked incredulously, raising his brows in surprise, setting the tray of muffins down on the counter. He was used to people shamelessly ogling him as he worked and it bothered him every time, one of the many reasons he preferred working in the kitchen, but Stiles? Stiles was completely different.

Ever since Stiles and his friend had started frequenting the cafe back in February, Derek had been infatuated with him, nevermind the fact that he’d never actually talked to him. Stiles had captivated Derek with his carefree laughter and the way he never failed to make a sarcastic comment, his broad smile always brightening Derek’s day.

Yeah, he was pretty far gone on Stiles.

So the very notion that he had attracted Stiles’ attention, especially since he had thought him straight at first, sent a pleasant shiver down his spine.

“Yeah, Stiles,” Laura confirmed. A smirk stretched over her lips as she added, “He couldn’t stop staring at your ass.”

Derek could feel himself blush as he pulled the muffins from the tin to arrange them on a display tray. He knew all those squats would pay off eventually.

“He got one of your donuts, too,” Laura mentioned all too casually as she grabbed the tray of muffins and slipped out of the kitchen to put them out on the front counter.

“Really?” Derek whispered to no one in particular as he peeked out of the kitchen to catch a glimpse of Stiles, seeing that he did indeed have one of Derek’s chocolate donuts on a napkin on the table in front of him. Half-eaten, Derek noted, feeling himself smile like a fool, irrationally flattered that Stiles seemed to enjoy the donut he’d made as he turned back to the oven to check on the batch of peanut butter cookies still baking.

“Aww! Look at that smile! Someone’s in love!” Laura sang as she walked back into the kitchen, playfully elbowing Derek’s side. Derek swatted her away and tried to school his features into something more neutral than besotted affection as Laura inquired, “So are you finally gonna ask him out?”

“Of course not,” Derek scoffed, “I can’t even work up the nerve to say hi to him let alone talk to him long enough to ask him out.”

“Well, you better work up the nerve. And quick because I gotta go and by the looks of it, he’s about to, too,” Laura remarked as she shrugged her coat on, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

“What?!” Derek definitely did not squeak.

“Mom just texted me, she needs my help with something so… You’re on your own, bro,” Laura explained before bolting out the back door before Derek could stop her, calling, “Good luck!”

“Laura!” Derek growled as the door slammed shut behind her. Groaning angrily, Derek checked the cookies again and left the kitchen to tend the front counter, dreading every minute he’d have to spend interacting with other people.

Indeed Stiles and his friend were getting up from their table, throwing out their trash and hugging each other goodbye. Stiles’ friend left the cafe with a wave over her shoulder, blonde curls bouncing as she walked to her car, as Stiles walked up to the counter, looking down at a piece of paper with some scribbles on it.

“Hey, Laura,” Stiles greeted without looking up, busy stuffing the slip of paper back into his wallet. Derek couldn’t help but smile wryly. When Stiles looked up his eyes widened exponentially, making him resemble a deer in the headlights, and he croaked out a surprised, “Oh!”

“Hey,” Derek answered, unable to help himself from beaming widely. Stiles returned the grin with a soft smile of his own as he scratched the back of his neck, obviously embarrassed.

“Could I get a dozen cinnamon apple muffins, please?” Stiles asked, still looking unusually shy. Derek dutifully punched in his order, rattling off the total that Stiles handed him after a moment, before filling a brown paper bag with the requested muffins and placing it on the counter for Stiles.

Before he could think twice, Derek took a leap of faith and blurted out, “Can I buy you a drink?”

Eyebrows raising as his mouth formed a perfect ‘O’, Stiles looked down at the unfinished to-go cup of coffee in his hand. Derek felt his stomach sink, feeling like an absolute idiot. He dropped his eyes to the counter, wincing when he saw Stiles move in his peripheral vision.

“Sure,” Stiles said, drawing Derek’s attention. He was standing by a trash can, to-go cup dangling between his thumb and index finger before he dropped it into the trash, smiling broadly at Derek. He sauntered back over the counter, leaning his elbows on it and resting his chin in his hand, smiling up at Derek as he repeated, “Sure.”

Derek grinned back at him breathlessly. “What’ll you have?”

Jamie Benn ~ Whipped

Laura turned the key in the ignition, making the engine stop. She put her hands into her lap and closed her eyes, resting her head against the headrest. Letting out a groan, Laura tried to relax before she got out of her car. After a few minutes she took her keys out, grabbed her purse, and got out of the car.

The sound of her heels hitting the cement floor of the garage echoed  around the room as she walked to the door. When she stood in front of the door she could hear the TV in the living room and a few different voices. Laura took in a breath before opening the door. Coming out of the garage, Laura now stood in the entryway. Walking towards the living room and kitchen, the voices and TV became louder.

“Baby?” She called out as she stood in the space that was between the kitchen and living room. Laura looked over into the living room to see that the TV was on and the backs of five heads. Then she saw Jamie’s head turn towards her when he heard her voice. He said something to the guys, then jumped over the back of the couch and walked over to Laura with a smile on his face.

“Hey beautiful. How was work?”

“The same old same old. You have no idea how annoying it is selling houses that you would never be able to afforded to assholes who are buying the house for their mistress.”

“I’m sorry. Dinner?”

“If you want be to cook it you have a death wish. I’m going to bed and  go to rethink my life and cry myself to sleep. Have fun with the guys,” she told him as she put her purse down on the island counter. Laura turned towards Jamie and gave him a quick kiss then walked past him and towards the stairs.

Jamie watched her go upstairs with a frown on his face. He knew that Laura had a tough job, but she did love it most of the time. She was the youngest realtor at her company and was climbing up the ladder there. However, lately work had been really hard on her and it was stressing her out to no end. Most nights she’d come home too tired to do anything, and some nights she would just sleep on the couch in the living room. She hadn’t even been to one of his games in two months. If she kept this up any longer she was going to explode.

“Yo, Jamie you coming?” Tyler called from the living room. Jamie turned back towards the living room to see Tyler and his brother looking at him.

“Where’s Laura? Didn’t I hear her?” Jordie asked, looking around the kitchen for any sign of her.

“Yeah. She went up to bed. Look guys, I think we should call it a night.”

“It’s only 7:30. The game hasn’t even started yet.”

“Dude, you are so whipped isn’t not even funny,” Freddie said, joining the conversation. Now all four of his friends were looking at him. Jamie rolled his eyes and his jaw clenched at Freddie’s words. He  looked at Laura’s purse quickly, then back over at his friends.

“Laura is going through some stuff. We just need some time alone,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. He heard Tyler let out a laugh and he looked back over at his linemate.

“I get ya man. You’re whipped, it happens to the best of us. I mean, not me but some of us,” Tyler said with a smile as he got off the couch and walked over to him. Jamie didn’t say anything to him, all he wanted was them out of the house so he could talk with Laura. Jordie, Freddie, and Eric all followed Tyler and walked to the entry way.

“We can watch the game at my place,” Tyler continued, and the small group all agreed as they got their shoes on. Jodie walked over to his little brother and gave him a quick man hug.

“Good luck with Laura. She really hasn’t been herself. And I think it’s nice that you’re taking care of her. You’re not whipped, you care about her.”

“Thanks man. I’ll see you at practice.”

“Yeah. Bye bro.”

“Bye,” Jamie said to his brother as Jordie walked towards the door where everyone was leaving. Jamie called his goodbyes to his friends as they left. When the front door was shut Jamie walked over to the stairs and went up to his and Laura’s bedroom.

When he got to the door it was open just enough so he could look inside the room. The light was off but he could make out Laura on the bed. Taking in a breath, Jamie knocked on the door then slowly opened it.

“Hey Laura?” He asked into the darkness of their bedroom. He heard the body on the bed move, then her voice.

“What?” She asked in a small tired voice.

“Do you want to go out for dinner?”

“No. I’m too tired.”

“What if I went and got something? Would you be up for that?”

“I guess.”

Jamie smiled to himself then started to close the door. “Oh, I almost forgot.”

“I love you, Laura.”

Again Laura moved on the bed but Jamie heard her mumble something that sounded like, ‘I love you, too.’ He closed the door then hurried down stairs.

When he got down to the entryway he went over to the small table by the door and grabbed his car keys off of it. With his keys in hand he walked to the garage door and went inside. Hurrying over to his car Jamie started to form a plan in his head. He wanted to do something special for his girlfriend. He was thinking her favourite Italian food from a small restaurant downtown, her favourite beer, and dinner out on the patio. It had to cheer her up. Challenge accepted.

For the second time that night Jamie stood on the opposite side of his and Laura’s bedroom door. Knocking again, he opened the door and saw that she was still on the bed.

“Baby. I went out and got dinner,” he said as he walked over to the bed. Sitting down next to her and placing his right hand on her back, Jamie slowly started rubbing her back.

“Beautiful, you gotta wake up,” he said softly to her. Laura moved in her sleep and opened her eyes to look up at Jamie.

“Hey there Sleeping Beauty. You have to get up.”

“Why? Sleep is so nice.”

“I have something waiting for you down stairs. Come on.”

“Can you carry me?”

Jamie chuckled and he stopped rubbing her back. He moved his hands onto her, one locked under her knees and the other cradled her neck. Picking Laura up in his arms, Jamie walked out of their room and took her downstairs.

“Do I smell food? Don’t tell me you cooked?”

“What? I’m a good cook.”

“You keep telling yourself that, baby,” Laura said with a very small faint laugh. Hearing her laugh Jamie smiled, knowing that he was already making her feel better.

“Just wait till you see what I have set up,” Jamie told her as he walked out the open back door.

“Wait, is that Frank Sinatra?” She asked hearing a familiar melody. But the question was forgotten when Jamie stepped outside. Laura gasped at what was on the back deck.

Jamie had gotten the Italian food and then some. He had the patio table set up with light yellow Christmas lights around the the top, inside and on the pole of the umbrella. The food was set out on the table with a pack of Laura’s favourite imported beer, and her record player was sitting on the table playing her favourite Frank Sinatra album.

“Baby… I can’t- did you do this?” Laura asked as Jamie let her out of his arms and she stood on the back deck next to him.

“Every single part. I thought you needed a pick me up. After all if a game wouldn’t fix you, this had to,” Jamie said with a proud smile.

Laura looked back at him with a look of shock mixed with disbelief on her face. “Baby… I don’t even know what to say. This is… No one has ever done this for me. Ever.”

“You are my princess and you need to be treated like such,” Jamie confessed. Laura shook her head and couldn’t help but smile at him. She stood on her tip toes and kissed him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

“I love you, Jamie.”

“I love you more, Beautiful,” Jamie said, kissing her nose and making Laura giggle and turn a light shade of pink.

“You are so whipped.”

“I can’t treat you? What is wrong with society in thinking that doing something nice for a girl or wanting to spend time with her makes you whipped?”

“Cool it. I was joking. I’m over the moon that you care about me this much.”

“Oh, and there with be a showing of the Godfather after dinner.”

Laura giggled and kissed him again. “I have the best boyfriend in the world.”

“And I have the best girlfriend in the world.”

“Shut up,” Jamie said with a laugh, then kissed Laura again and wrapped his arms around her tightly. He felt her body start to relax in his arms. Jamie smiled, knowing that he had kicked this challenge ass and took names.

“There is a world where whenever someone fantasizes about you, you can physically feel it, but you have no idea who is thinking it about you.”

Stiles knows it’s wrong, but he’s been Fantasizing about Derek and he can’t bring himself to stop. Derek doesn’t know who’s taken an interest in him, but he’s enjoying it way more than he probably should.

Three Marks by sanam

“And then there was pain again, but this time it was in only three places—his arm, below his clavicle, and next to his heart, all on the left side. It felt like the skin was being sliced apart, ripped open, flayed off—
And suddenly it was done.
Derek looked across the room and saw the boy on the floor, looking about as bad as Derek felt.”

Derek and Stiles learn that bonding is probably best done with ridiculous amounts of video games and maybe a little bit of time.

Permanent Fixture by linksofmemories

An Artist’s Personal Statement by howl-to-the-wind

Being the middle child of five siblings, Stiles was used to taking the backseat. He was twenty-one years old, mouthy, pale skinned, and twitchy, and was probably the most overlooked in such a talented and good-looking family. Not only that but more often than not, he was bullied, teased, exposed (in a literal sense) and also ended up getting banged up and bruised. Thank goodness, there’s Dr. Hale to patch him up after all is said and done.

Just a monster of a fic with doctor!Derek and artist!Stiles, complete with a couple more Stilinskis and a gang of well-meaning friends running around trying to hook them up and keep them together.

The Boy Next Door by dereksstilinski

Stiles thinks he’s doing the right thing by distancing himself from Derek, but little does he know that Derek needs him more than ever.

You Can’t Trust Everyone by lokasenna (mimirswell) (15/? | 171,803 | NC17)

It’s the summer after sophomore year in college, when most people are getting to test their new freedom from their parents, and reconnect with high school classmates.

Instead, the Pack is dealing with teenagers being turned into monsters, and the mysterious doctors behind it, and trying to accept the newest member of the Beacon Hills menagerie, Theo. And Theo is tired of waiting to win over the Pack’s trust, and sick of Stiles suspecting him when he’s offered nothing but help. So he finds a way to get them in the palm of his hand, and all it takes it a few days, his claws, Stiles Stillinski, and himself as the noble hero. What he didn’t factor in right? Stiles himself, and Derek Hale.

“What’s your name?”

He scratches at his cheek. “People call me Stiles.”

It sounds like something he came up with to make it harder to find him – assuming there’s even anyone left to look for him. If he’s out here, doing what he does, it’s highly probable that he doesn’t. “What’s your realname?”

A smile, self-deprecating. “Does it matter? I don’t have one anymore.”

Stiles didn’t even glance up from the book in his hands before saying to the alarmingly tight pair of jeans and knee high boots in front of his desk, “Information is out front. They can help you with what you are looking for.”
“Actually, Emissary.” A soft and clear voice said, “I don’t think they can.”
Allison stared at him, amusement and small smile on her face.
Stiles dropped the four hundred-year-old book in his hand.

For once the pack doesn’t panic when a new hunter arrives. The gleefully sadistic man has labelled himself a collector of all things rare in the supernatural world and wants one of the rarest creatures; a werefox. Content that the pack is safe, the wolves focus on why their human member is acting so strange, ignoring the fact that Stiles only started once learning who the man wanted…

Coffee Catch

For the prompt “You’re the hot asshole who dumped your coffee down my shirt and turns out you are my college professor” from this list.

1k, G, no warnings apply

Derek is nervous.

He’s in the little coffee shop just off campus, drinking one last coffee before his first lecture starts.

A few girls start giggling loudly behind him and he catches one of them say something about a hot older professor, but when he turns around they are looking at him, giggling even louder, ducking their heads together to whisper urgently.

Derek whips back around, feeling his cheeks flame, not because they called him hot, he knows what he looks like, but because they think he’s a professor. He feels terribly old suddenly, aware of every single year that sets him apart from those girls and everyone else in the coffee shop.

Because he might be old enough to be a professor, but this is actually his first day as a student.

After the fire, Laura barely got him through the rest of high school, and college was out of the question then. He was barely above feral, jumping at mean laughter, eyes flashing at the faintest hint of roses, Kate’s favorite perfume.

But now Laura is going to get married and he really can’t live in her guest bedroom anymore. And though he didn’t need to get a degree to get a job, didn’t need a job period, he decided to finally get that college experience he was missing out on all those years.

He’s been so caught up in his thoughts that he didn’t notice that he has to leave now or he’ll be late for his first class.

With a bitten back curse, Derek stands up and starts walking while still pulling on his leather jacket, not really looking where he’s going. He does actually curse out loud, when someone slams into him and hot coffee runs down his front.

“Oh my god, I am so sorry!”

Derek looks up from his ruined shirt into bright amber eyes that are staring back at him. The guy that ran into him is gorgeous, moles scattered across pale skin that Derek wants to lick. He’s not as heavily muscled as Derek, but his plaid shirt stretches nicely across his broad shoulders and Derek really wants to bury his hand in his hair and tug.
