I lead an after school club (check out http://laslatinitas.com/, we’re pretty cool), and today we basically just talked the whole time because it was an internet safety lesson. But the girls were really great, and offered lots of good comments and stuff. I’m so glad they’ve all grown comfortable with each other and with the other club leader and me. They’re all so smart and talented. Thanks girls <3
so I found this mysterious message in a 100yr old school book in our book room. I included the title page and the student’s name that was written in the cover. Any ideas what our friend Thomas Taylor is saying?
For you purists out there, his pronunciation is not always perfect (though its better than mine), but he reads with inflection and emotion, which makes things much easier to understand. Excellent, if somewhat advanced, comprehensible input for auditory practice.
How do you keep your students sticky paws off your new book? Call on the Di Manes (gods of the underworld) for help! Defixios or curse tablets like this are worth more research if you are looking for Roman related Halloween stuff.
