Themed entertainment doesn’t always live in contained park spaces, sometimes they’re location-based at museums, hotels, city blocks or gardens. The Las Vegas strip is packed with overly-themed resorts such as Circus, Circus, The Venetian or New York, New York. After the iconic lagoon show debuted in front of The Mirage, The Goddard Group was tasked by The Excalibur Resort to create something to give their hotel some fiery street cred. Goddard and his team settled on a massive animatronic dragon that would tower over the strip and wreak havoc on the lagoon. This enormous creation never came to be, but the prospect would certainly have enticed pedestrians towards this medieval adventure.
The Sands was where the Palazzo/ Venetian currently is. But that Denny’s has been there for decades 😂🙈🙈 I pass it all the time when I leave work, and never knew it’s been there longer than I’ve been alive lol
