Tony and I went up north to Larsmont Cottages for a little get away right after my birthday. On our way back, we took Camille’s mom Gaelle’s advice and stopped for lunch at the New Scenic Café. I had this sandwich – salami, pâté, roasted pearl onions, cornichon, and a soft boiled egg on baguette.
I recently took a trip up to the North Shore in Minnesota. We discovered some great things to see and do for a weekend adventure. Thought I would share some details for anyone looking to plan a North Shore getaway!
Drive Time (from Minneapolis): 3 hours
Destination: Two Harbors, MN
Resort: Larsmont Cottages
Activities at the resort: Bike rentals, guided kayaking, lawn games, great restaurant, bonfire pits with s’mores upon request. In the winter there are snowshoe rentals.
Activities in the area: Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse and park, Superior Hiking Trail (and much more!)
Suggestions: Book in advance (the Larsmont is known to sell out). Camp one night and stay at the cottage one night if you’re looking to cut costs. Stop in Duluth on the drive home for lunch / extending exploring.
