largest poster

When i visited the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville i hung out with an extremely large version of taylorswift. i think it was the largest poster I’ve ever seen of taylor. i hugged it while my dad took a photo and everyone was staring at us like what the heck hahaha. i was unleashing my inner swift. anyways, hopefully one day we’ll be able to hug in person. regardless, ill see you at gillette :)

womens' rights are not a joke.

so we had a rally at my high school today right which is normal, the theme was battle of the sexes, and i am still angry. not because of the fact that it was boys vs. girls, but because a decent size group of boys were being so ignorant and disrespectful and i didn’t see anything done about it. said group of guys had made posters which is fine and dandy, but these posters were awful; it started with the illustrious phrase: “make me a sandwich,” which is just plain annoying, but tolerable. then, on the back of it, it said “get back in the kitchen” and then they started chanting “make me a sandwich” over and over again.
the other fucking posters was where it really started to get to me: “why is my laundry still dirty,” “the floor don’t gonna mop itself,” “nudes!” “top?” i heard later on that one of my friends had seen a sign displayed for several moments that said something like “thots” or “don’t be a thot.” and then the last poster made me lose my mind.
some fuCKING PERSON HAD THE AUDACITY TO MAKE PERHAPS THE LARGEST POSTER WITHIN THE GROUP SAY “REPEAL THE 19TH AMENDMENT" AND NOBODY DID ANYTHING. NOT A TEACHER, NOT THE PRINCIPLE, EVEN ONE OF THE VICE PRINCIPLES WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE GROUP OF GUYS. RIGHT. NEXT. TO. THEM. AND HE WAS SMILING. (ALTHOUGH LATER ON, AGAIN, I HEARD SOMEONE SAY THEY TOOK AWAY THE "MAKE ME A SANDWICH” POSTER). AT THIS POINT, SOMEONE GOT AN ACTUAL SANDWICH IN A PLASTIC TUPPERWARE CONTAINER AND HELD IT UP AND ALL THE GROUP HELD THEIR ARMS OUT TO IT AND WIGGLED THEIR FINGERS AND WERE LIKE “OOOOOO” LIKE IT WAS SOME SACRED JESUS STONE OR SOMETHING. AND AFTER THE RALLY I TRIED COMPLAINING TO MY FRIENDS, AND DO YOU FUCKING KNOW WHAT I HEARD SOMEONE SAY. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAID??????????? SOMEWHERE IN THE CROWD I HEAR A, "BOYS WILL BE BOYS.“
BOYS WILL BE BOYS??? HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO LET "BOYS WILL BE BOYS” JUSTIFY INAPPROPRIATE ACTIONS. as i was venting to some people (as i did continuously for the next few hours), someone told me how they were angry when someone made a remark about how “the military sucks” after the national anthem was sung by our school’s choir group. this is also not okay, but neither is disrespecting womens’ rights, which i was told i was overreacting to and the posters were “a joke” and “meant to be funny.”
just because its a joke doesn’t constitute immoral, profane, and degradation in any form.
if the poster had been an attack on mens’ rights, how fast do you think the rally would have been shut down or controlled.
honestly i was so upset. i don’t care that it was meant to be joke, it isn’t funny, its rude and disrespectful and i’d like to say i can’t believe it, but with all that’s happened in the world regarding equality its hard not to.
