Keeping with the flora theme, we took a drive out to the resettled community of Big Brook, where, walking across the barrens, we saw these hardy creatures. The first two I can’t identify: are they the same plant in different stages? Arctic willow perhaps? The 3rd I’m IDing as a purple mountain saxifrage, and the last two a bud and flowering lapland rosebay. I’m no expert when it comes to flora so corrections welcome!
ETA: these were all tiny, btw: the willow-things were about an inch in height, and the flowers a couple of centimetres each!
