The Roaring Twenties and the Golden Age of Hollywood

Evening Coat, French, 1925

Robe de Style, House of Lanvin (Jeanne Lanvin), French, 1924

Evening Dress, Travis Banton, American, 1934

“…This dress was worn by Chinese-American actress Anna May Wong. While the dress may evoke the “cheongsam”, a from-fitting traditional Chinese dress style, its construction is along the lines of high-necked form-fitting Western gowns from the Belle-Epoque period, but the dragon motif adds a distinct Asian influence, dazzling in its execution in gold and silver sequins on luxurious satin.  It was designed by Banton for Wong’s role of Tu Tuan in the 1934 film “Limehouse Blues.” Wong was a pioneer for Asian-American actors and one of the few actors in general to transition from silent to talking films.”

VMAs Special : Demi Lovato

Demi has been attending VMAs for quite some time now and stunned us all with her confidence. Take a look at her VMA fashion history.

This 16-year-old VMA Disney star looked gorgeous in a off-shoulder Herve Leger dress with black heels. Her straight hair and makeup completed her look. She looked great.

Her next appearance showed off her sexy side wearing a silver Mandalay dress with black Louboutins. I wasn’t really a fan of her hairstyle (and hair color) though, the makeup was fine.

I totally loved this comfortable look of her’s where she wore a black sparkly Topshop prom dress with matching heels and a leather jacket. Loved her hair and makeup. So cool!

And last year, she definitely turned heads with her daring red Lanvin gown and though I loved her hair and makeup, I wasn’t impressed at all as the dress was supposed to be more on the elegant side and apparently, it looked more raw!

I’m eagerly waiting what she’ll wear this year… Let’s see!
