Yukon Delta, Alaska

Yep. This is Alaska. You heard me. It’s also natural color with visible light and all that. The Yukon Delta looks like this. The elevation here is so low that the river can randomly change courses, leaving ponds and fissures in the ground. It picks up a whole lot of sediment and salt from its travels and consequently turns to a pale green color.

Description: Small, blocky shapes of towns, fields, and pastures surround the graceful swirls and whorls of the Mississippi River. Countless oxbow lakes and cutoffs accompany the meandering river south of Memphis, Tennessee, on the border between Arkansas and Mississippi, USA. The “mighty Mississippi” is the largest river system in North America.
