Neither of them had meant to make their feelings so transparent, but somehow these Amestrians knew (Edward, Greed, Mr. Hohenheim, Alphonse, Dr. Knox… they all had a way of seeing straight through them)
maybe it was something in the way they spoke of each other, or perhaps in the way they protected each other, or in the way they each admired and valued the other
Perhaps the people of this country just have a way of recognizing l o v e when they see it.
Lingfan Week - Making it Public
(repost, because for some reason this never posted in any of the tags, and done a month later because i did not notice at first)
The themes for FMA Femslash week have arrived! The week will run from February 14-20.
Please note that you do not have to follow them; they’re just suggestions!
Sunday: Romantic Evening Celebrate Valentine’s day! From cute first dates to steamy evenings or perhaps even undercover fake relationships, kick off with an interpretation of how your ladies might spend a romantic evening together.
Monday: Military and Country One of the things all the FMA ladies have in common is a complex relationship with her country and the military. Tell us a story (in whatever medium you like) about those relationships and histories and how they connect to our couples’ love lives. Is it easier to date in a military town? How about those military academy hook ups? How do they balance Official Duties (military or royal!) with date night? What’s a girl to do when she doesn’t like dating military women but can’t find a civilian girl she likes enough to bother with a second date?
Tuesday: I love you, let me count the ways Happy queer ladies in love! Tell us about when they realized they were in love, those first I love yous, when she realized that hey, I really like this girl (or these girls!). If they’re monogamous, when did they decide to be exclusive? If they’re poly, how’d they realize they balanced and worked as long-term lovers? Or tell us about how they know their partner(s) love them, silly little love stories and those quiet moments together. Or those dramatic declarations of love! Affection within relationships is varied and complex, and we want to hear all about it.
Wednesday: Alchemy Whether alchemists or not (alternate takes on canon where non-alchemist ladies have picked up alchemy are absolutely encouraged), alchemy is a fascinating concept to explore in how it affects the lives of those close to it. How do non-alchemists handle an unfamiliarity with this aspect of a partner’s life? Or perhaps it’s a relationship founded on mutual fascination—or dislike—of the science. Or just longsuffering girlfriends having to deal with the melodrama of State Alchemists and the fact that no, you really can’t apply equivalent exchange to a relationship, dammit.
Thursday: Format Challenge! Try creating something in a way that you usually don’t–writing in a different tense or with a different style (epistolary, poetry, point of view), creating art with a different medium (switching between traditional and digital, trying sculpture or cross stich, cake decorating, whatever inspires you), or even trying something entirely new (maybe you’ve always wanted to try gifmaking!). Step outside your box and have fun!
Friday: Queer Identities As queer identities are never covered within canon, we invite you to explore them yourself. There are no guidelines here: perhaps same sex relationships are heavily frowned upon, and romance must be kept secret. Or, it may be accepted, but maybe this is the first time someone’s really liked a girl, and she’s not sure quite how to handle it. Alternatively, navigating mixed-orientatiton couples, polyamory, modern/historical time period (during the gay rights movement, for example), or nonbinary/trans or other gender identities are all possibilities!
Saturday: Alternate universes and fusions Go wild! High school and coffee shop. Sci-fi and high fantasy. Put them in your favorite TV show or video game; create your own world with its own rules and customs. There are infinite universes out there and a place for our ladies in each and every one of them.
1. Please tag your works as #FMA Femslash Week so we can reblog it! 2. We will be tagging by ship name alphabetically in the following format: Firstname x Firstname. I.e., Riza x Winry, or Maria x Riza, or Olivier x Sheska. 3. We will also be tagging by content warnings that are immediately apparent, but we may not be able to read thoroughly through everything before reblogging. Tag your works with common content warnings (NSFW, Underage, Gore, Noncon, etc.). 4. Submissions are absolutely accepted! 5. We will be creating an AO3 collection. Keep an eye out!
