The Littlest Viking - Bob Golic ‘79

My favourite song of these crazy dudes.

Happy to finally present to you folks a trailer for my film No Way Jose. A labor of lust, I co-wrote this with Sarah Kate Levy, directed it, made some songs for it, and licked it. It’s got an exceptional ensemble with some wonderful known and not so known actors – great friends of mine with whom I’ve collaborated on a variety of other projects and other mediums over the years before writing for them. Featuring Ahna O’Reilly, Emily Osment, thepathealy , Brendan Hines, Anna Belknap, and steveagee  making a very special appearance as The Clown). Also featuring some badass titles from number34 and an amazing soundtrack featuring some of my favorite ‘70s era tunes I cleared for the film, but not the trailer.  Coming to a home near you on July 7. You can pre-order the DVD (bonus features, commentary by me, etc)  or watch it on iTunes and other digital outlets in July. Or both. Or neither. It’s your life, you need to do what’s best for you.

Forgive me father
for I have sinned
it’s been two hours
since my last injection
allow this blessed sacrament
this bolsa chica
to wipe away my guilt
cleanse me of my shame
if only for the briefest
of moments

They say to be proud
of your heritage
but what pride can there be in
slave-owner ancestors?
Who held people as chattel?
as property?
Used men for their labor
women for their lust
What heritage is that?

Forgive me father
for I have sinned
it has been five minutes
since my last injection
and all is as it should be
this body of Christ
this little bag
has done it’s work
and I am free
of fear, at last

What is the cause
of this breakdown of empathy?
Why can we not
place ourselves
in the shoes of another
and understand
the pain we have caused?
Why pretend
that God has blessed us
when we have done nothing
worthy of blessing?

Forgive me father
for I have sinned
this is my
last injection
of fictitious history
remove this bolsa chica
this little bag
from my eyes
so that I may truly see
what we have done
