Skye Bridge by Moonlight by David McHutchison Via Flickr: While out checking for an aurora, what does one do during the waiting? Well, taking a few shots of the Skye Bridge can pass the time nicely :o)
Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina. You would never know that this remarkably scenic town experienced the worst bombardment of the Bosnian war just two decades ago. Like Sarajevo, the city has revived itself in astonishing fashion and is now a top destination in the Balkans. Mostar is filled to the brim with important war museums and galleries as well as gorgeous cafes, shops, mosques, and churches adorning the winding streets that line the emerald green Neretva river, which slices through the town underneath the iconic Stari Most. Having been destroyed in 1993 during the conflict along with the majority of other important structures, today the rebuilt “Old Bridge” is one of the country’s most recognizable landmarks and a symbol of the coexistence that built modern Bosnian culture.
