This is one of the views from the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which snakes its way from Cairns, Australia to the town of Kuranda, through the Macalister Range.

This morning we made our way to the train station. We rode up the mountainous rainforest of Cairns, going under 15 manmade tunnels and over 98 bridges. For the duration of the train ride we learned about the history of the railway and how dangerous the construction of it was having been worked on in the late 1800s. The views from the train were ridiculously unreal as we saw all of Cairns below us, deep valleys and huge waterfalls. The ride was around and hour and 20 minutes and I wish it had been longer! Tons of history and wonderful views of Cairns.
