Details: “Kupala Evening was the Pagan Slavic feast of fire and water connected to summer time solstice” says Kosmos, who examined ancient Slavic rites and ceremonies to “recreate the power of emotions that was aroused for the duration of the mysteries.” Interpreted into contemporary design and style language, the tapestry, handmade in natural wool, attributes colourful images of woodland animals.
“Given that the previous is often an element of the potential, we feel that returning to our roots can show us the way of generating the potential.” The tapestry will be shown for the duration of Dutch Design and style Week 2014 from October 18 to 26.
Designers: Kosmos Project, designers Ewa Bochen and Maciej Jelski, is a modern style studio based in Warsaw, Poland that specializes in interior, product, exhibition and graphic layout. Their design method is “constructed on the conviction that our surroundings determines our attitudes.”
