Dr. Tsunemi Kubodera, with the help of his partner Kyoichi Mori was one of the first scientist to film the giant squid in its natural habitat. They relied on sperm-whale paths to find this squid, as sperm-whales prey on giant squids.
Scientist have learned that the giant squid uses a more agressive hunting style than they thought.

My full report/review of the Touken Ranbu stage play. Live Viewing May 20th 2016 7pm Toho Cinemas Nagoya Bay City
The Touken Ranbu stage play was beyond my expectations. I can’t even remember what those expectations were because all I can think of is the show itself right now.
The actors involved appealed to me greatly with some I’ve been watching for a few years and some I’ve heard of but not kept much attention on. I have already seen Higashi Keisuke, Someya Toshiyuki, Teruma, Sasaki Yoshihide, Aramaki Yoshihiko, Hirose Daisuke, Wada Masanari, and Sugie Taishi in action before. But it was my first time to see Kitamura Ryo, Naya Takeru, Suzuki Hiroki, and Shiina Taizo in real time. But, I definitely have to give props to Marume Kiyohito and Kubodera Akira to. I’ll write about my particular thoughts of some actors later.
I came in already have played some of the Touken Ranbu (TouRabu) game so I had a decent grasp of who the characters were. However, information such as the swords’ history of sword smiths, previous owners, and such were nonexistent for me. My knowledge of Japanese history is quite weak as well. On top of that, my level of Japanese is lower-intermediate at best. Despite all that, I found the show thoroughly entertaining and moving at times.
When I heard Suzuki Hiroki do Mikazuki Munechika’s game loading phrase to signal the start of the show I’m pretty sure I held my breath for a moment.
Gakugata-san* ironing during the break with Deragamo-san* creeping suspiciously behind him! I don’t know how it ended up like this, but they’re both persisting in their sincerity as warriors
☆ …in other words, they’re adorable. #HakuMyu
*TN: “Gakugata” is Taira’s nickname for Matsuda Gaku who plays Hijikata and “Deragamo” is Kubodera Akira who plays Serizawa Kamo.
