A Victim Almost Escapes.

Konerak was only 14 and he was running for his life. This was his only chance to escape from the horrible-smelling apartment where the creepy blond guy had slipped him some kind of powerful drug. It seemed that luck was with him that he started to come around just as the blond man had left the apartment.

It took all the strength he had to get up and get to the door. He was so disoriented and panicked that it made no difference that he was naked. This was his only chance to survive. He was working strictly on instinct. Just get out of there and run away.

Konerak, victim

It was just before 2 A.M. and Sandra Smith called 911 to report the boy running around “butt naked.” She didn’t know who he was, but she knew he was injured and terrified.

The paramedics got there first and put a blanket around the naked, dazed boy. Two police officers arrived soon after and tried to understand what was going on with this young man of Asian descent.

Sandra Smith, 18, and her cousin Nicole Childress, also 18, were standing near the boy when the Milwaukee city police arrived. The tall blond man was also standing near the boy. The conversation became heated between the girls, the blond man and the police.

The tall blond man told the police the Konerak was his 19-year-old lover who had been drinking too much. Konerak, who was drugged and incoherent, wasn’t able to contradict the smooth-talking blond man. Dahmer gave the police a picture ID.

The two young women tried to intervene. They had seen the terrified boy trying to resist the blond man before the police arrived. They were angry and upset. The police were ignoring them and listening to the white man instead.

Just to be on the safe side, the two officers went with the boy and the tall blond man to his apartment. The apartment smelled bad, but it was very neat. Konerak’s clothing was folded and placed on the sofa. There were a couple of photographs of Konerak in black bikini briefs.

Konerak sat quietly on the sofa unable to talk intelligently. It’s not even clear that he understood the calm explanation the blond man was giving the police. The blond man was apologizing that his lover had caused a disturbance and promised it wouldn’t happen again.

The police believed the blond man. They had no reason not to — he was well-spoken, intelligent and very calm. The Asian was apparently drunk and incoherent. The officers, not wanting to get in the middle of a domestic argument between homosexual lovers, left the apartment with Konerak still sitting quietly on the sofa. In that neighborhood, the officers felt that there were more pressing things for them to do.

911 Operator: Milwaukee Emergency Operator 55. How may I help you?

Cleveland: Yes, yes. A moment ago, how long ago was it? About 10 minutes ago, my daughter and my niece flagged down a policeman when they walked up on a young child being molested by a male guy and, uh, no information or any-thing was taken, but they were taken downtown. I was wondering, I mean, I’m sure further information must be needed. The boy was naked and bleeding.

911 Operator: Okay.

Cleveland: Have you had any reports of that? Anyone been brought down like that?

911 Operator: Okay, you know where it happened at?

Cleveland: The squad car was Number 68 that they flagged down and they picked him up.

911 Operator: Um hunh.

Cleveland: And my daughter and my niece said, that you know, their names or nothing was taken down or whatnot, but the fact is a crime was being committed, I’m sure you must need, you know, some kind of information based on it.

911 Operator: Okay. Let me get you someone to talk to.

Cleveland: Okay.

[She is put on hold momentarily until another voice answers.]

Operator: 66.

Cleveland: I was calling to see if a squad car, 68, brought someone in, a child being molested by an adult that was witnessed by my daughter and my niece?

Operator: Where was this?

Cleveland: 26th and Highland, Sandra? 25th and State. Okay., they was the ones that witnessed it and flagged the policeman down, and you know, told about the situation, but their names or nothing was taken down, and I’m wondering if this situation was being handled. Because what it indicated was that this was a male child being raped and molested by an adult. It was…

Operator: Where did this happen?

Cleveland: Around 25th and State.

Operator: Okay, now what district were you calling?

Cleveland: What district? They were flagged down. The policemen were flagged down.

Operator: Okay. If that’s where it happened, then they were in that district. Hang on one second.

Cleveland: Okay.

[She is put on hold a second time while the call is transferred once again.]

Operator: District Three.

Cleveland: Yes. I was wondering earlier this evening about 15 minutes ago, my daughter and my niece flagged down a squad car, Number 68, whereas they witnessed a young child being molested by an adult.

Operator: Um hunh.

Cleveland: And this has been reported?

Operator: Where was this happening at?

Cleveland: 25th and State.

Operator: 25th and State.

Cleveland: Yes.

Operator: Hold on. Let me check.

Cleveland: Okay.

[She is put on hold for a third time and the call is transferred to a specific police officer’s telephone.]

Officer: Police.

Cleveland: Yes. There was a squad car Number 68 that was flagged down here earlier this evening, about 15 minutes ago.

Officer: That was me.

Cleveland: Yeah. What happened? I mean my daughter and my niece witnessed what was going on. Was anything done about this situation? Do they need their names, or…

Officer: No, I don’t need them.

Cleveland: Or information, or anything from them?

Officer: No, not at all.

Cleveland: You don’t?

Officer: Nope. It was an intoxicated boyfriend of another boyfriend.

Cleveland: Well, how old was this child?

Officer: It wasn’t a child. It was an adult.

Cleveland: Are you sure?

Officer: Yup.

Cleveland: Are you positive? Because this child doesn’t even speak English. My daughter has dealt with him before, seen him on the street, you know…

Officer: Yeah. No, uh, he’s uh, he’s….It’s all taken care of, Ma'am.

Cleveland: Isn’t this…. I mean, what if he’s a child and not an adult? I mean, are you positive this is an adult?

Officer: Ma'am. Ma'am. Like I explained to you. It’s as positive as I can be.

Cleveland: Oh. I see…

Officer: I can’t do anything about someone’s sexual preferences in life, and if…

Cleveland: Well, no, I’m not saying anything about that, but it appeared to have been a child, this is why…

Officer: No.

Cleveland: No?

Officer: No, he’s not.

Despite the fruitless results of her conversation with the Milwaukee police, Cleveland was not ready to dismiss the situation from her mind, feeling that the Laotian boy could be in jeopardy. Four days after calling 911, she read a newspaper article concerning the disappearance of Konerak Sinthasomphone and decided to go one step higher in her effort to alert authorities. This time she telephoned the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI telephoned the Police Department and inquired about the report on a missing person, apparently deciding that since no evidence existed that a federal crime had been committed, the local authorities should handle the matter. The Milwaukee police returned a call to Glenda Cleveland, saying that they were aware of the incident and would contact her. She waited. No one came to talk.

It would be learned in a few months that her efforts would have been to no avail in any case, even if the police had come zooming back to apartment 213 with sirens wailing and lights flashing. The fatal mistake had already been made. A quick response at that point would have done nothing to help Konerak.

Dahmer, in discussing the matter, told investigators that as soon as the door closed and the three police officers walked back downstairs, he had strangled the drugged Laotian boy until he was dead. Dahmer said he then had sex with the corpse, took some photographs to add to his horrific collection, and began the long process of dismembering the body. As a trophy, he chose to keep the teenager’s skull.

Konerak Sinthasomphone was one more person who would never leave Jeffrey Dahmer.

Sega Bodega - Konerak

Sega Bodega - “Konerak”

In the early morning hours of May 30, 1991, fourteen-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone (the younger brother of the boy Dahmer had molested in 1988) was discovered on the street, wandering nude and under the heavy influence of drugs. Dahmer convinced police that they had an argument while drinking, and that Sinthasomphone was his nineteen-year-old boyfriend. Against the teenager’s protests— which the police likely didn’t understand, as Sinthasomphone didn’t speak English, police turned him over to Dahmer. Later that night he killed and dismembered Sinthasomphone keeping his skull as a souvenir. Police had no idea they had allowed a murder to occur and a murderer to continue…

The Child Murders At Robin Hood Hills

I’ve changed my mind after watching “West of Memphis” …

Terry Hobbs.

I’d be surprised if he had nothing to do with the murders.

I assume he has connections to the local police, that’s why he’s never been treated like a serious suspect.

Because once you compare his history of offenses to the rumors and diaries of the West Memphis Three, it’s really not funny anymore.

It’s so obvious, it’s ridiculous.

It’s JUST AS RIDICULOUS AS the episode with Dahmer and Konerak Sinthasomphone … why didn’t the police check his background when this shit happened ??? And if they did, why didn’t they treat him like a serious suspect AT ALL ???

Police + Terry Hobbs.
They’re either guilty or know a great deal about all of this and are covering up one another AND someone else they’re connected to who did it.
Drugs, child prostitution, something big and ugly.

But with Terry Hobbs’ history he would need a fucking great alibi to not be a suspect. For some reason he didn’t. That’s so fishy, I can’t believe it.

This case is an absolute disaster.
