“In order to love and live, we must get rid of fear.” Steff Reed played his guitar and sang “The Light” on the L subway platform. We talked about Marvin, Stevie, Nina and others in 5 short minutes. I love my people and the culture we celebrate.
August 2015: The Launch of The Fashion Collective NYC
I almost missed this, but this is all 2015 was about and what the years forward will be about. Supporting the dreams, goals and visions of your friends, associates and those in your circles is all too important. We’re up next. Keep your eyes on us.
“You can’t shy away from what you were called and meant to do!”
We each have a purpose, a calling, something we are meant to do. We have to go after it, no longer suppressing it or worrying what others might think. Be the best at what you do and the rest will follow.
December 2015: Another opportunity that I am grateful to have been a part of. A year in the making, I hand the honor of documenting Ms. Christina Brown’s #ShopLoveBrownSugar Holiday Pop-Up Shop. There’s nothing better than seeing people come together to support one another through not only business, but empowerment as well. Continued growth and success in 2016!
Continuing my #2015recap because work and play happened. Happy New Year to all.
October 2015: what a year for new music; the emergence of new artists and expressions. Hearing her music and story being shared on Apple Music one afternoon with Zane Lowe, I was compelled to find out more about Ms. Andra Day. Nonetheless, she came to NYC as part of her tour and exceeded expectations. Soulful delivery, with reminders of classics past and contemporaries present, she’s the future of music in a lane all her own. Cheers to 2016.
May 2015: Watching this woman of vision and liberating power lead other individuals to tap into their own visions, potentials and dreams was a blessing I didn’t expect to experience, or even document. Carrying those takeaways into 2016 will result in great things to come, just wait on it.
