Voltron: Legendary Sweater Weather Defender!

I hc that Lance easily gets cold on the castle and that he somehow ends up having a huge stash of big sweaters…no one knows from where though

I also hc that Keith secretly loves seeing fluffy Lance in too big sweaters

GUYS. I did it! I finished my wedding shawl!! 1,600 yards of yarn, 3,000 beads, and several months later, it is done!!!!!!! 😀😄

The pattern is the Evenstar Shawl on Ravelry for those who are curious.

Edit on 10/27/16:

I have received so many lovely comments on this shawl!  Thank you all so much! I also have gotten a lot of questions as well, so I figured I’d use this edit to address some of those:

  • I think (I’m not sure at all) this shawl took me about 4-5 months to make.
  • I used about 1200-1500 yds of Bare Gloss from KnitPicks
  • The original pattern called for a 3.25mm needle (I think?) but I sized up to 3.75mm because go big or go home.
  • There is 1 blue bead among the 3000 for my “something blue”.
  • I wouldn’t consider this a difficult project; it was more of a really freaking long project.  The knitting from the center to the edge is pretty straightforward chart reading.  The edging with the beads took an excruciatingly long time, but that also wasn’t especially difficult.
  • I should also mention I’ve been knitting since I was around 6 years old. So sometimes “difficult” does not mean the same thing to me.
  • I didn’t really choose to make this shawl because of a tradition or anything.  I just thought it would be something cool to do.  I also didn’t want to wear a veil, but I still wanted something similar.  So wedding shawl.

My dinosaur jumper
I’m really pleased by the way this turned out. It was really afraid that it would be too small, and while it is close fitting I am able to get it on and off! Plus the seams and the neck turned out okay so overall a success :D
I’m really proud of this, though. It took about two months to make, and the colorwork got really annoying at points, but I managed it, and it makes me really happy.

A quick overview of all of my current projects:

*Posy Cardigans 1 & 2. 1 is complete and I just started on the sleeves of 2!

*White Cabled Scarf, will be a Christmas gift. I love the stitches so much. I can’t wait to make a fisherman cabled sweater.

*Gray socks, were a possible Christmas gift, most likely not. Instead using them as a way to test out stitches. Its pair will not be the same.

*Sandy Tweed Cowl, just an excuse to play with texture and use up some yarn. Liking the outcome so far!

That’s all!

I’m Back!
I took a little time off of posting because I was busy and tired, and not really working on anything exciting.
As you can see, my current projects haven’t really changed. The only new thing is my urgent need to start a baby project. I have a new niece being born at the end of the month, so I have to start something. The plan is to make it a few sizes bigger, so when I finally finish it and mail it, it will fit her perfectly.
Other than that I’m just whacking away at that sweater… the sleeves might be the death of me, or the sweater. They make for some sloooow knitting.

Order your Resistance Hat

FIGHT THE TRUMP AGENDA!

Say no to racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, and all other forms of hatefulness.

For $20, you get a hat, and I’ll donate the proceeds (all $ minus cost of shipping) to the following charities: ACLU, Planned Parenthood, CAIR, Trans Lifeline, SPJ Legal Defense, and Immigrant Defense Project. I will split the total money earned between them evenly, once a month.

As for the hats themselves, you can choose an approximate color (I’m using yarn I already have to keep costs down, so the actual shade may vary) or let me surprise you.

Your order will be for an adult sized, basic knit or crochet, beanie-style hat. I’m not able to honor any customization requests, except for the one mentioned below.

**If you have any fiber-related needs (wool allergy, or if you’re vegan and want non-animal fibers, for example) please let me know in the comments section on your order.**
