Y/n = Your Name Y/f/n = Your Friend’s Name O/f/n = Other Friend’s Name
Fall…A season filled with pumpkins, sweaters, colorful foliage, cool weather, and most importantly Halloween. You wandered up and down the aisles of a pop up Halloween store trying to find a costume for a party your friends were throwing. You huffed and pulled out your phone and called one of your friends. “(Y/f/n) I can’t find a costume… They all either suck, are too expensive, or are too exposing…What should I do?” You asked them. “Oh come on y/n! Don’t be so negative! You’ll find something! You’re probably looking in the wrong place…” Your friend said with a light laugh on the other line. You glanced around “Really y/f/n? I’m in a Halloween store… How could I be in the wrong place?” You asked unamused. Your friend laughed, “Try another store silly! I have to go, the party is in a mere matter of hours and o/f/n and I need to finish decorating.” Your friend said. You sighed before bidding them goodbye and hanging up. Maybe they were right… Maybe you were in the wrong place. You left the store and got in your car, you looked up nearby Halloween stores, and chose one that looked promising. “Hopefully they’ll have something… otherwise I don’t know what I’m going to do…” you muttered to yourself before driving off towards the store.
After driving for a bit you finally pulled into a parking lot in front of a sizable Halloween store. You took your key out of the ignition and grabbed your purse before getting out of your car and locking it before walking into the store. After entering, you were no less than amazed, not only did the store have tons of aisles packed with costumes and props, but there was a whole other floor of more costumes. This place had to have something. You wandered up and down the aisles, surveying the vast selection before you. After you had spent a solid forty-five minutes looking around the store, you had found several options; a witch, a secret agent, an angel, or a Greek goddess. You looked at each costume and weighed the pros and cons of each before finally deciding on the Greek Goddess. You placed the other costumes back in their respective places, and headed to the prop and accessory aisles. You had completely fallen in love with the costume and you wanted to go all out now that you found something that worked. You picked up a gold olive leaf crown, some fake gold costume jewelry and you decided to splurge a bit and purchase a pair of gladiator sandals to complete the look. Elated with your purchases, you rushed back to your apartment on your college campus to get ready and tie everything about the look together.
“There, that’s it…” you smiled as you observed your reflection in your bathroom mirror. You had pinned the frontward locks of your hair back and loosely curled the rest in an elegant way that made it appear as if your hair just simply blossomed from beneath the gold olive leaf crown. Your makeup was simple but elegant with gold eyeshadow dusting your lids, a bit of blush and a fair amount of highlighter dusted across your cheeks and a rosy-gold lip color painted across your lips. You smiled to yourself before exiting your bathroom to change into your costume. You slipped into the silky, flowy, white Grecian dress. You looked in the floor length mirror you had in your room, giving yourself a little spin before clipping a gold belt around your waist, and slipping on the gold armbands and other costume jewelry you had bought. Lastly you sat down on your bed and got to work on lacing up the knee high gladiator sandals. After you finished you stood up and headed to the mirror once again, you looked like a princess…well, a goddess actually. You smiled and grabbed a small gold clutch and tossed your phone and keys inside before heading out of your apartment, and heading to the party.
You couldn’t stop the gasp from leaving your mouth as you walked up to the fraternity house the party was being held in. One of your friends who had planned the party was close with some of the fraternity members and since they hadn’t been able to come up with a good idea for a party themselves, they saw no wrong in letting people use the house…as long as they could invite people too and it would be a shared party. Your friends and the fraternity members who had helped them went ALL OUT there were fog machines, decorations, orange black and purple lights, jack o lanterns, pumpkins, and what appeared to be black lights illuminating the inside of the house. “They really outdid themselves.” You thought as you walked up the front steps of the house. Upon opening the door you were immediately greeted by the sound of pumping music coming from the grand lounge space that was housing most of the party at the moment. A figure dressed as a the Grim Reaper was actively working a set of turntables and typing things into a laptop that was hooked up to the large speakers at the front of the room as people danced. You couldn’t tell who the person was due to the dark hood that was shrouding their face. Maybe you’d find out later… Your curiosity was peaking, and you decided to take this opportunity to explore the other areas of the house and see what else was going on. You soon found yourself standing in one of the entryways to the kitchen where three people were working as impromptu bartenders and mixing drinks, while a throng of people were gathered around two tables in the dining area of the large kitchen as people played beer pong and other drinking games. You rolled your eyes and continued walking, “typical frat boy behavior” you thought.
You soon found yourself in the backyard of the large fraternity house, where there were more activities such as; spin the bottle, truth or dare, and never have I ever. Not particularly wanting to join in on any of these you walked back into the house. “Y/n!” You heard being called out to you. You snapped your head in the direction of the voice, only to see your two friends approaching you. “Hey y/f/n! Hey o/f/n! This is amazing! You guys really outdid yourself!” You said. They smiled, “Good to see you’re having fun!” Y/f/n said before they and o/f/n walked off. Now that you had a good feel about what was going on around the house you decided you’d go and dance for a little bit. After walking into the grand lounge, you saw that the person dressed as the Grim Reaper had disappeared, they must’ve been creating a playlist before so they could actually have some fun around here. You smiled as one of your favorite songs came on, and you joined the crowd and danced to the catchy beat that played throughout the room. Suddenly as the song faded out and a new one began, you felt a hand wrap around your wrist and pull you aside. You gasped as you came face to face with a guy a few inches taller than you, with a devious smirk adorning his face. “My my my, you certainly chose the perfect costume, because you’re a goddess among all the other girls here.” The guy drawled. You wrinkled your nose as the overwhelming smell of alcohol hit you as he spoke. “Come on cutie, how about you show me how the gods do it on Olympus huh?” He asked as he bit his lip and reached for your shoulder. You gulped, and glanced over his shoulder for a possible escape, but your thoughts were interrupted as a voice called out from behind you. “Hey! Leave her alone!” The voice said while pulling you from his lustful grasp. The guy glared and tsked before walking away dejected. You felt your heartbeat begin to slow back down to a normal pace now that you were no longer in a compromising situation. You turned around to thank the person who had saved you, and you were greeted by…
It's only January but all im thinking about is spring fashion, what do you think will be important to have in spring
spring/summer presents in september b! i would look @ the collections if you want to be on top of it. i guess some really big takeaways this season as far as trends go would be fringe- lots of 1920’s inspired accents (big @ celine, proenza) all neutral/pale whites- color-blocking + layers with neutrals that have big, free flowing shapes (see: hermes, lanvin, the row) lots and LOTS of denim- skirts, shirts, jackets, jeans, dresses, jumpers, etc (stella mccartney, fendi, chloe) spring leather- lots of it, leather on leather (see: proenza, prada, j.w. anderson) the whole 70’s era thing was definitely in this current season and it’s going to progress into spring with patchwork, minidresses, fit + flare denim, large lapels on coats + all lace (you see a lot of this in chloe, emilio pucci, derek lam) sportswear- will obviously still carry over bomber jackets, perforation, heavy graphics (see: alexander wang, carven, public school), shirt dresses + two piece suits.
colors: shades of whites/neutrals, deep jewel tones, yellows + oranges, navy // gingham print, soft metallics
