I recently did some portraits with Tacoma rapper UGLYFRANK of the group (ILLFIGHTYOU). Frank is the homie and I expect 2014 to be a huge year for him and his crew. FADER Editor In Chief Matthew Schnipper recently featured him on the FADER’s website. HERE
A super fun and rather fitting assignment I shot for the December issue ofPopular Mechanics . The Salmon Cannon! Helping transport Hatchery fish up river to leave more spawning ground for the wild fish. Also used to safely transport fish over dams.
I’m very excited to share a few tearsheets and some favorite images from the September 2014 Filson Catalog. Shooting this catalog was as much of a dream job as I could get. I have done several smaller projects for Filson and am a longtime customer/huge believer in their incredible products. It was exciting to shoot something more in depth and high stakes for them. We featured the real men from the Northwest School Of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock, WA. This catalog focused primarily on workwear and I cant think of many northwest places that fit better inline with the Filson brand than this school. Please pick one up or order one to see the rest of the spreads and the quality printed real life versions.
Some of my favorites from shooting the new Cocktail Cover story for the December issue of Seattle Metropolitan. Meeting and photographing Cocktail Legend Murray Stenson was a very memorable experience. Such an interesting character who makes a damn good cocktail.
I had the extreme honor of photographing former Sudanese Lost Boy Machot Lat Thiep for the new issue of VICE magazine. The entire issue is about the problems that have faced South Sudan. Machot now lives a happy simpler life here in America but the issue follows him back to Sudan for the first time since he escaped.
New work for AFAR Magazine. Exploring the Oregon coast with the guys behind Portland’s Holdfast Restaurant. The two spend summer/fall months making weekly trips to the coast foraging for Seaweed, ocean grasses, Gooseneck Barnacles and whatever else sounds appetizing at the time.
