This was super easy to make. I made my regular cheese sauce (I’ll also include that recipe here) and did something a little bit different other than just pasta.

The Mince:

1kg of beef mince

1 cup of Masterfoods BBQ sauce

1 diced red onion

Heat up oil in a fry pan and add your diced onion. Once the onion becomes translucent add your beef mince. After browning all your mince add some pepper to season (there is already salt in the cheese sauce and your pasta so it’s really not necessary) and add your BBQ sauce. After you’ve stirred the sauce through, coating the mince thoroughly just leave it on a low heat and stir occasionally.

The Cheese Sauce:

2 tbsp of butter

2 tbsp of flour

1 cup of milk

1 tsp of salt

2 handfuls of grated cheese.

(If you have access to velveeta cheese then use that. If you can’t, like me, then I suggest using red leicester cheese and australian tasty cheese - 1 handful of each)

And for this dish only, a touch of tobasco sauce.

Melt your butter in a small saucepan, once it’s melted add your flour and combine. Once combined add your milk and stir until it reaches a rue like consistency. Add your cheese and your salt and stir until completely melted. Then add a dash of tobasco, or however much you’d prefer.

If the cheese sauce isn’t quite runny enough keep adding splashes of milk until you’re happy with it’s consistence.

So now that those two steps are done it’s time to combine them! You know how to cook pasta so just add that to your mince. Once that’s done add your cheese sauce and stir it all through. If you want as a finishing touch add some chopped spring onions.

There you have it, BBQ beef mac and cheese.
