kingdom of god within you

To Explore Inner Space, Look Within via Meditation

“Those who have walked the mystic way tell us that there are worlds within as there are worlds without. It is only recently that we have crossed the ultimate frontier of outer space. But the saints and mystics throughout the ages have been inviting us to explore the wonders of Inner Space. They have been telling us that there is only one way to achieve peace and lasting happiness – to go within.” (The Wonders of Inner Space, Darshan Singh)

Among the stars you and I
Suspended here in time and space
Inner-space is where we find Ourselves
within all worlds

Okay these are the ones that made me die a little

when divinity looks down on men, and they open their mouths — their tongues slithering down: from mouth, to throat, to lungs and hearts and ribs ——

black, swollen things that lick the insides; yearning for a taste of mortality, because when you are eternal and immortal and omniscient all you want is to breathe time in and feel it corrode your bones. decay swinging to the ticking of the clock and men——

humanity looks up at divinity, and searches for eternity; prophets with eyes like glass, skeletal and fearless as they stare back. languidly ingested alive by the Gods they yearn to touch.

until they are people-shaped shells and monsters lurk behind the expanse of those washed out eyes.

— Behind his eyes a monster lurked. ||  Eliot C. ©

All messengers of the Light reveal to us that the human being carries a spark of the eternal Light within him. Jesus called it the kingdom of God within you; oriental philosophy speaks of the jewel in the lotus; the Rosicrucians speak of the spirit-spark atom, the primordial atom or the rose of the heart. The theosophists characteristically call it the last remnant of the once divine human being.

The Third Eye is the Portal to the World of “Within” (Third Eye Sky)

Those interested in the health benefits of the relaxation response are learning to use meditation to reduce stress. Christians searching for a deeper spirituality are finding, through the meditative practice of centering prayer, a way to reconnect with their lost contemplative heritage. In recent decades, spiritual Masters from Asia have introduced techniques to Westerners who have been yearning to find spiritual fulfillment. Many are discovering the wonders of inner space.

There is much more to meditation than stress reduction. It can also serve as a tool for inner exploration or enlightenment. For the mystically inclined, meditation can even be a “Portal” to the Divine, or, as Rumi would say: “a Window to God”. This inward journey, the mystery of “the Kingdom of God within”, has motivated millions to practice meditation for much of recorded history.

Meditate! “It’s Bigger on the Inside!”

Quantum reality reveals that the inner space within each person is infinitely more vast than all of the billions of light-years of the known universe on the outside. According to mystics and gnostics, East and West, the human body is the true temple of the Spirit, and looking within is going through the “Door” of this temple.

The poet-mystic Kabir: “Within this earthen vessel are bowers and groves, and within it is the Creator. Within this body are the seven oceans and the unnumbered stars…. Says Kabir: ‘Listen to me, my Friend! My Beloved Lord is within.’… (Songs of Kabir, Rabindranath Tagore translation)

Awakening to Your Own Soul, the Higher Self

It says in the ancient Hindu scriptures known as the Upanishads: "Who is the Self? The Master replied, 'The Self-luminous being who dwells within the lotus of the heart, surrounded by the senses and sense organs, and who is the light of the intellect, is that Self. Know the Self as lord of the chariot, the body as the chariot itself, the discriminating intellect as the charioteer, and the mind as reins. Seek the Self through meditation.’” (The Upanishads, Eknath Easwaran translation) The soul is the spark of life residing within this body – this is our true identity. We are “spirits living in the material world.” (Sting)

“Love is the highest form of prayer. If prayer is the Empress of virtue, then the Christian loves God, because God is Love … Watch the world only through the prism of love so that all your problems disappear. Then you will see that the Kingdom of God is within you, that man is an icon, and earthly beauty is only a shadow of heavenly life. You might think that it is impossible to love your enemies, but remember that Christ said, ‘Whatever you did to the people you did it to Me’. Keep these words written in gold letters in your heart, keep it next to an icon and read it every day.”

Nor will they say, ‘Look here!’ or, ‘Look over there!’ For behold, the kingdom of God and heaven is within you and around you.”1 [The Kingdom of God, which is within you and around you, is a parallel dimension that occupies the same physical space in which we live. To enter the Kingdom of God within and around us, is to be dramatically translated to the spiritual dimension of consciousness and sight, in union with Christ and God, but walking on earth by the light of God. The world passes away from our sight when the Kingdom is entered.”
— Luke 17:20-21

“Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.”

- Leo Tolstoy: The Kingdom of God is Within You

SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:31–33

As a child of God, know that it is your Father’s pleasure to meet all your needs. Jesus Himself tells us, “For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” But God does not want you to seek after things. He wants you to seek first His kingdom. And when you do that, all the things that you need will be added to you!

So your first priority every day is to seek His kingdom. The word “first” in verse 33 is the Greek word proton, which means “first in order or importance, holding the highest place in all our affections”. My friend, God wants us to seek first His kingdom, and all things will fall gloriously in place.

We are not to seek after things the way Gentiles do. The word “seek” in “the Gentiles seek” (verse 32) is the Greek word epizeteo. It means “to seek with all their might with much sweat or with much stress”. However, the way God wants us to “seek” in “seek first the kingdom of God” is the Greek word zeteo, which means “to hunger, to desire to worship”. It is simply a hungering, a desiring for the kingdom of God, without any labor or toil.

But what is the kingdom of God? Romans 14:17 tells us that it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. And the kingdom of God dwells within you because the Holy Spirit indwells you. So the kingdom of God is His righteousness, peace and joy in you.

Beloved, if you want to have peace and joy in the Holy Spirit flowing inside you, then seek every day to be conscious of your righteousness in Christ, not your own righteousness, but His righteousness given to you as a gift. Pursue Jesus first. Spend time with Him and listen to His Word. And when you do these things, you are seeking His kingdom and His righteousness, and all the things that you need will be added to you!

ON EVE // megan virginia

Considering the ribs: I was not
created with them. I emerged from them,
a dim hope for a better sort of human.

I was not gracefully raised from a
bone, I came out bloody. I came out
seeking sin.

I was not born of man.
I tore man apart to exist. I swallowed his heart
for myself, arteries and loneliness alike.
Wife of Adam?
I prefer conqueror. I prefer blood.
I prefer destroyer of divinity.

(I took your holiness and burned it alive.
How does it feel to be human?)

Consider this: I did not emerge peacefully.
I rose from the dead I clawed my way out I fought
just to exist;
now tell me I am only skin and bones.
Tell me and I will show you how hot the blood in between burns –
just hot enough to burn all this to the ground.
Again, again.

Was it not enough the first time I uprooted your garden?

Considering your throne: I chopped down your tree
and turned it into a throne for myself. I used the wood for toothpicks,
I had my foot on Adam’s neck. Do you understand this,
god? How can you understand the feeling of conquering something
that tried to hold you down? What did you conquer?

As an architect I believe you have failed. I did not build walls around myself
or erect statues in your image. I built a shrine to myself, I stood tall and said
KNEELING IS NOT NECESSARY, I KNOW MYSELF
& THAT IS ENOUGH.

How many times did you ask a person to kneel?

[ Later people will still love you, and trust you, and will not see
the dark controlling part that seeks a soul to devour. What have you
conquered is not the right question, I know now. What will you try to eat
is a better one. ]

People will stand on street corners and scream of the end of times,
they will shout to the heavens as if they could pull it from the sky
with their fingertips, like they don’t understand that the only way
to survive the fire is to burn brighter.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU, they say.
 IT WILL PROTECT YOU.

Sometimes at night I climb to the top of a building, I stand on the edge,
I throw my head back – I need not worry about exposing my throat to you,
god, you don’t understand blood like women do – and I scream right back:

THERE IS NO KINGDOM OF GOD WITHIN ME
BECAUSE I BURNED IT TO THE GROUND

Because we think we are the body we imagine that Heaven exists somewhere, afar. The pure, bright world of Siva is not a place to go to. Nowhere but in your heart alone IT is… ‘For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you [Luke 17:20-21]’

Love and pray for your enemies:

By: St. Silvanus the Athonite

The soul cannot know peace unless she prays for her enemies. The soul that has learned of God’s grace to pray, feels love and compassion for every created thing, and in particular for mankind, for whom the Lord suffered on the Cross, and His soul was heavy for every one of us.

The Lord taught me to love my enemies. Without the grace of God we cannot love our enemies. Only the Holy Spirit teaches love, and then even devils arouse our pity because they have fallen from good, and lost humility in God.

I beseech you, put this to the test. When a man affronts you or brings dishonor on your head, or takes what is yours, or persecutes the Church, pray to the Lord, saying: “O Lord, we are all Thy creatures. Have pity on Thy servants and turn their hearts to repentance,” and you will be aware of grace in your soul. To begin with, constrain your heart to love enemies, and the Lord, seeing your good will, will help you in all things, and experience itself will shoe you the way. But the man who thinks with malice of his enemies has not God’s love within him, and does not know God.

If you will pray for your enemies, peace will come to you; but when you can love your enemies – know that a great measure of the grace of God dwells in you, though I do not say perfect grace as yet, but sufficient for salvation. Whereas if you revile your enemies, it means there is an evil spirit living in you and bringing evil thoughts into your heart, for, in the words of the Lord, out of the heart proceed evil thoughts – or good thoughts.

The good man thinks to himself in this wise: Every one who has strayed from the truth brings destruction on himself and is therefore to be pitied. But of course the man who has not learned the love of the Holy Spirit will not pray for his enemies. The man who has learned love from the Holy Spirit sorrows all his life over those who are not saved, and sheds abundant tears for the people, and the grace of God gives him strength to love his enemies.

Understand me. It is so simple. People who do not know God, or who go against Him, are to be pitied; the heart sorrows for them and the eye weeps. Both paradise and torment are clearly visible to us: We know this through the Holy Spirit. And did not the Lord Himself say, “The kingdom of God is within you”? Thus eternal life has its beginning here in this life; and it is here that we sow the seeds of eternal torment.

Where there is pride there cannot be grace, and if we lose grace we also lose both love of God and assurance in prayer. The soul is then tormented by evil thoughts and does not understand that she must humble herself and love her enemies, for there is no other way to please God.

What shall I render unto Thee, O Lord, for that Thou hast poured such great mercy on my soul? Grant, I beg Thee, that I may see my iniquities, and ever weep before Thee, for Thou art filled with love for humble souls, and dost give them the grace of the Holy Spirit.

O merciful God, forgive me. Thou seest how my soul is drawn to Thee, her Creator. Thou hast wounded my soul with Thy love, and she thirsts for Thee, and wearies without end, and day and night, insatiable, reaches toward Thee, and has no wish to look upon this world, though I do love it, but above all I love Thee, my Creator, and my soul longs after Thee.

O my Creator, why have I, Thy little creature, grieved Thee so often? Yet Thou hast not remembered my sins.

Glory be to the Lord God that He gave us His Only-begotten Son for the sake of our salvation. Glory be to the Only-begotten Son that He deigned to be born of the Most Holy Virgin, and suffered for our salvation, and gave us His Most Pure Body and Blood to eternal life, and sent His Holy Spirit on the earth.

O Lord, grant me tears to shed for myself, and for the whole universe, that the nations may know Thee and live eternally with Thee, O Lord, vouchsafe us the gift of Thy humble Holy Spirit, that we may apprehend Thy glory.

If your spiritual guides say to you, ‘Look, the divine Realm is in the sky,’ well then the birds will get there ahead of you. If they say, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. “No, divine Reality exists inside and all around you. Only when you have come to know your true Self will you be fully known – realizing at last that you are a child of the Living One. If, however, you never come to know who you truly are, you are a poverty-stricken being, and it is your 'self’ which lies impoverished.

The most adventurous journey to embark on; is the journey to yourself, the most exciting thing to discover; is who you really are, the most treasured pieces that you can find; are all the pieces of you, the most special portrait you can recognize; is the portrait of your soul. - C. JoyBell C.

“The Kingdom of God is Within You” art by Heather Mclean

Jesus said, “If those who lead you say to you, ‘See, the kingdom is in the sky,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty.
—  Gospel of Thomas

🔮 The 33rd time Jacob’s name is found in Biblical #scripture, he had a vision of a ladder reaching to Heaven. This is commonly referred to as “Jacob’s Ladder” which esoterically represents the 33 vertebrae-spinal collumn/Kundalini reaching upwards to the mind/brain/Kingdom of God

(Heaven- Luke 17:21 - “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you”), leading to the “god” within/Pineal Gland (Genesis 32:30 - “ And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.)

The #PinealGland looks like a pinecone, seen symbolized as such in Sumeria & the Catholic Church, & is the size of a small gemstone. The pineal gland is known as "The Throne of God”. Around the Throne of God (Pineal Gland), there are 24 cranial nerves that help the pineal function to its full capacity. This is mentioned as the “24 Elders” in Revelation 4:3-4. These Elders represent the Church, which is the body of Christ/

#ChristConsciousness, (no physical church will ever house god- Acts 17:24 - “The God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;”), in the mind.

The Pineal Gland is the main endocrine gland in the body that rests in the middle of the brain between the two Cerebral hemispheres; which is mentioned in Genesis 3:24 as the “Cherubims”, that guard the #TreeOfLife.

The Tree of Life which is coiled by the Kundalini serpent wisdom, is your spinal collumn with 33 vertebrae, as in; the 33 Degrees of #FreeMasonry. There are also 33 spinal nerves. Adding these together represents the 66 books holding hidden Wisdom of the Bible.

Gazing Within, See Visions of Light in Inner Skies

Streams of nectar are flowing through the narrow tube of Sukhmana*.
From the subtle opening of the tenth door, the fish-soul swims upstream.
The Surat-soul** rises up to the egg of the universe,
then descends lower down through the subtle opening.
And the Surat-soul** again ascends from low to high over the currents of Sound and Light.

Repeating the mantra given by the Master,
concentrate on the Master’s form.
Serve him with love and obey his commands, O dear ones!

The Master will reveal to you the location of that subtle aperture of the tenth door.
Being more subtle than the point of a needle, in the middle of the two eyes and in front of the nose,
focus on the infinitesimal point.

Your darkness will disappear and then you will joyfully soar up
into the inner resplendent sky full of Light opening up before you.
Concentrate and merge into the essential Unstruck Sound among the multiple Sounds***,
and reach the final stage, the Eternal State, that will wipe away all your earthly sufferings.

Mehi says, this is possible only when you serve at the feet of the Satguru everyday.
Nothing will be attained without loving devotion to the Master, as taught by all the Saints.

NOTES:

* Sukhmana: The Middle Path or Channel within, between Ida and Pingla, also called Shaah Rag (the Royal Vein) in Arabic; the central energy current in the subtle body, which runs from the third eye center into the higher spiritual regions.

** Surat-soul: soul-consciousness; the spirit absorbed in itself; the attention of the soul. ‘Surat’ refers to the ability of the soul to concentrate within and experience the bliss of inner regions. It refers particularly to the faculty of the soul to hear within, whereas 'nirat’ refers to the faculty of the soul to see within.
