Kikivuli complete! I will be posting my photo of Viraj after his debut this weekend - though I REALLY HOPE the owners of these suits send me full-body photos!

Ki and I finished these on Wednesday at about 12:30am, after working around 30 hours in a 36 hour period. I don’t know if anyone realizes how much that takes out of a person, but let me tell you that it takes A LOT. I am taking several days off to rest and recuperate. If I can manage to never work a 20-hour shift again in my lifetime, I will be a much happier person. Maybe that will be my New Year’s resolution.

A large full illustration commission for Kikivuli and Utunu! We were discussing what would be ideal for a large piece featuring their two characters, and settled on a hunting scene. The daylight helps show off their awesome markings and colors, and the scene shows off something about their character’s lives. Kikivuli uses druidic magic to summon vines to slow their gemsbok prey, while Utunu strikes a blow with his spear.

This was a bit larger than my normal full illustrations, at 11" X 17" instead of 8.5" X 11". Took quite a bit longer too! 32 hours in Photoshop with an Intuos 3 tablet.

Here’s my first WIP post, with the composition thumbnail and the refined sketch. Sorry I didn’t post WIPs as I went along for this one, it’s been a weird week!

After weeks of getting my eye hurt and then catching a weird virus thing, I was able to finish this commission for Utunu and Kikivuli of  Kikivuli’s Stripped Hyena character.

There are so many WIPs, unfortunately, I cannot post them all because, it would take me forever to put them in order x__x

Sorry guys~

Anyways, I enjoyed working in this so much, especially at the end.

Except the moments that my pc decided to lag and also each time I  had to reboot the pc to make my Intuos work xD

I feel like I am having very similar problems with the Huion, I will switch back soon to Huion to see how is the driver going

Anyways, thanks so much for commissioning me! <3

It was such a pleasure to work with Kikivuli and Utuntu, they are awesome.

A piece done for Utunu, as a gift for Kikivuli for Christmas.  We picked the phrase together, and I painted what my imagination dreamed up based on it.

This piece involved a LOT of experimenting with technique and style.  I tried a lot of things that were pretty different than how I usually do my digital work, and I have to say, I couldn’t be happier with how it played out.  This is one of my favourite works to date.

With and without words versions.
