kids in tech

Me: gosh I’m so stressed I–

AP student: don’t talk to me about stress😩😫. I have to study for five AP–

Student athlete: you don’t know the grind 😤😤 keep it 💯we work for everything we–

Musical theater kid: work?? Try having tech week 🎭🎭the same time as midterms🙀🙀–

Horse girl: Huh? What? I could hear you I was too busy riding HORSES

I saw a “shoutout to the theatre kids” post that was only about actors and I felt left out so this is for everyone else (please add to this if you feel you haven’t been represented!!):

shoutout to the theatre kids that aren’t actors

  • to the stage managers who manage to balance friendships and being authoritative in rehearsals
  • to the technicians that do extra training in welding and access equipment and so many other things to make themselves more hireable
  • to the techs and stage management who just sometimes want to wear colour but are instead in show blacks all the time
  • to the stage managers who get stuck mediating the tension between directors and designers who are older and supposed to be more mature than you
  • to the techs who injure themselves, deal with it, and keep working (or are told they aren’t allowed and are so annoyed about it)
  • to the designers that have to compromise what they want because the director doesn’t like it or there isn’t enough time/budget/equipment
  • to the casual crew members who just like theatre and want to be involved but aren’t trying to make a career of it
  • to everyone who tries (and sometimes fails) to fit in friends and healthy eating during tech week
  • to everyone who has ever done a year-long unpaid (or barely paid) internship in the hopes that it will lead to a job opportunity
  • to everyone who has ever worked really hard on making/finding a prop only to have it cut in tech or dress
  • to the design assistants that have to figure out when and how to become designers in their own right
  • to anyone who has ever managed to avert a crisis backstage where there’s barely any light and you can’t talk
  • to anyone who has ever had to make the decision to stop the show because some crises just can’t be averted
  • to everyone who struggles to understand unions

and the list goes on and on

you’re all fucking amazing

the legacy of b. knight

“It’s Ford’s first meal at the Haus, so everyone be on your best behaviors, alright?” Bitty bustled around the kitchen, a bowl of biscuit dough tucked under one arm as he gave the gravy on the stove a stir. Though it wasn’t an official Team Brunch, Bitty was pulling out all the stops for Ford: biscuits and gravy, fruit salad, hash browns, Canadian and normal bacon, as much coffee as could be brewed at one time…

“We’re always on our best behavior,” Holster said with a yawn. He and Ransom were slumped together at the counter, lethargically slicing fruit at Bitty’s command.

“Yeah, Bits, we’re upstanding gentlemen,” Ransom said, grabbing Holster’s hand before he sliced his own finger. Holster gave him a sheepish grin and reluctantly put his glasses on.

okay so I may have been listening to multiple snail house music in a row,,,

Haha Palette belongs to @angexci

Who do rappers REALLY make their music for?

Drake makes music for black guys who act hard but are actually soft and they still go to their grandmas house on Sundays and mow their yard for free.

Joey Bada$$ makes music for teenagers now who wish they were teenagers in the 90’s but they’re pissed off because they have to deal Macklemore instead.

Iggy Azalea makes music for white girls who like black guys but are afraid to tell their dad because they would get disowned.

Yelawolf makes music for white people who wear camo and live in the country but are ashamed to say they like hip hop because their parents are racists.

Gucci Mane makes music for full grown men with learning disabilities and have 9 children with 3 baby mamas and owe outrageous amounts of child support.

Childish Gambino makes music for teens who don’t like hip hop but say they do when they’re at high school party’s just to sound cool.

Tech N9ne makes music for weird black and white kids who wear skinny jeans but are afraid to say they like ICP because they’re just too weird.

Tyler, the Creator makes music for 11-15 year olds who are shithead delinquents that are overly obnoxious and troll YouTube comments.

Kanye West makes music for himself and doesn’t give a shit if you like it or not because he knows you’ll buy it anyway.

Wiz Khalifa makes music for dudes who get stoned and starts freestylin’ at McDonalds at 2 AM and they think they can legit rap but really they’re just super high.

2 Chainz makes music for black guys who think he’s smart because he went to college and white guys who think he’s funny because he acts dumb on purpose.

Kid Cudi makes music for 24 year olds who haven’t figured out their life, overthink everything and can’t make decisions so they smoke weed to ease their mind but it just makes them lazy.

Pitbull makes music for people who were born in the early 2000’s that think hip hop started in 2007 and they only listen to the radio and don’t know what the internet is.

Lil Jon makes music for black people who hate dubstep but since he says 8 words in all of his songs, they’ll let it slide and say he’s a rapper.

Hopsin makes music for people who think mainstream hip hop is wack but they try to be deep and talk about it too much and force it down our throats so we end up hating it instead.
