Part 2 witch!au!!! I wanna know more about their deal and why Neil's not Andrews familiar!

Neil is not Andrew’s familiar because he is not a spirit. Familiars are essentially the essence of a witch’s spirit and inner self taking the form of an animal. Gaining a familiar is a complicated process and requires blood magic, and Neil wasn’t summoned to Andrew’s side. It’s kind of hard to explain, but you know *jazz hands* magic.

As for the deal, it went something like this:

  • it’s the beginning of summer and andrew is tired
  • being around annoyances for nine months was exhausting and the only reason andrew is letting kevin inside his car is because of their promise
  • kevin stays in the car when andrew goes out
  • not too far but far enough that andrew can pretend to be alone
  • except there’s a cat in the tree above him that’s practically suffocating in binding magic
  • really, it’s a surprise that the cat’s even keeping himself upright
  • andrew… well, he’s not about to let a cat suffer so he takes the cat and does some magic to dispel the bind
    • side note: binding magic isn’t bad in any way
    • it’s usually used to make teammates/partners stronger
    • it can also be used as a sort of marriage ceremony
    • typically, binding magic isn’t permanent and requires the consent of all parties
    • however, the deal with the cat was that a taboo sort of binding spell was used so that he wouldn’t be able to escape his master without causing pain unto himself
    • that spell is not public knowledge–only the influential are meant to know about it
    • back to the story

Photographer!Andrew & Model!Neil AU

(part one) (part two)

  • Neil Abram Josten, is an on the rise model. Son of a former actor (granted a douchebag of one) and a make-up artist, Neil is a stunner. He was pressured to model by his father and has slowly come to hate the world he was forced into.
  • Riko Moriyama is the son of several very successful models and the brother of Ichirou Moriyama- the current face of Calvin Klein. However, it’s clear he has no actual talent and keeps stealing jobs from his “best friend” Kevin Day, much to the disgust of Day’s agent David Wymack.
  • Anyway, so Neil is still famous for his sass, especially at Riko. His social media accounts are just clapbacks left and right. Almost too many for everyone to keep up with.
    • “Shout out to Riko Moriyama for proving to us that names can get you jobs but not talent.”
    • “Hey @Riko_Moriyama - have you learned how much it costs to pull your head out of your ass? If you can’t cover it all, maybe some of us can help you out. Our contracts probably give us more wiggle room than yours.”
  • Neil’s mother dies near the end of his contract, a fatal car accident that Neil is also involved it. He disappears for several years, during which Riko tells lies about Kevin to get him fired and steal his spotlight.
  • Andrew Minyard is an on the rise photographer, slowly becoming famous for his photographs which shed light on tougher subjects within celebrities. He was still in juvie for three years, though no one is entirely sure why.
  • When he decided to return to the public eye, Neil goes to find Andrew, interrupts him in the middle of a photo shoot and hires him to help expose the Hollywood world for what it is.
    •  Andrew thinks that Neil is a bit of a demanding ass, is annoyed with his quick temper and doesn’t want to do the job. Neil thinks Andrew is just another pretentious photographer. They don’t get along really, but finally Andrew is convinced to join.

Joavin fanfic

“I’m just a thrill to you, arent I?” he asked, his eyes moving between the other’s dark eyes. “A passing craze."

A long drag from the smoke. Joaquin flicked the cigarette, the ash dropping to the floor by his feet, scattering in the air.

"Answer me.” Kevin demanded, the joyful edge that usually accompanied his voice replaced by something else.  "Answer me.“ he said again, perhaps this time a little less demanding, and a little more desperate.

Joaquin’s head titled down, refusing to look at the other’s face. He took another drag, chest heaving, and released the smoke slowly, still silent.

"You can’t just leave me hanging. I’m not some toy, you know? You used me, and I’m worthy of answers.” he said, stern. Serious. Hurt.

Joaquin wanted to say that no, he wasnt. He was worthy of so much more than answers. That he was worthy of nothing but honesty and genuine love. But he didn’t.  Instead, he tossed the smoke aside. It hit the wall and fell, slowly dying out on the ground.

“I-” he started, unsure of how to continue. It was true. He used Kevin for his dad. But he didn’t really have a choice, did he? He was part of a machine. He wasnt just himself. He wasnt just Joaquin, who would’ve given Kevin all his heart and more. He was a Serpent, whose hands are rough and his heart isn’t owned by him. Who is not a human being.

“You should go.” he finally said, lifting his conflicted eyes from his worn out boots and to Kevin’s soft eyes. What else was he supposed to say? The truth? His feelings? These privileges were left for other people.

Kevin stared at him for a moment, and then laughed. Joaquin wanted to cover his ears. “Youre joking.” Kevin said, taking a step forward, a bewildered, angry smile still on his face.

Joaquin wanted to punch him. To knock sense into this gorgeous boy who should have never gotten into this mess of a life in the first place. “Go. Find yourself some straight As quarterback and live a normal life. I was just using you. Theres nothing for you here.” he said, taking a step back, and felt like he wanted to break his own teeth saying things like that to Kevin. Here he was again, just giving Kevin more lies. He really couldn’t be who Kevin wanted.

“I-” Kevin tried to speak. This time, it was his turn to find no words. “I don’t believe you.” he decided, pulling that determined face Joaquin liked so much. “You can’t fake that.” he said, taking another step forward and motioning at the space between them with his hand. “And I don’t want a straight As quarterback. I want you.” he added, as if it made all the difference.

Joaquin took a step back, unable being this close to Kevin.  "Well, we can’t get what we want, Kev, can we?!“ he finally said, his temper rising, his brows knitting over his narrowed eyes. "Not all of us get to do and feel what we want to do all the time.” he said, glaring up at the taller teen. He hoped Kevin would leave. That he’d go and get over Joaquin and be happy and safe. Because the word is harsh and cold and people don’t always do good things.

Kevin seemed to understand something. His eyes searched for something in the Serpent’s eyes. Something Joaquin didn’t know, but Kevin seemed to find.

The silence between them was suddenly filled with a new feel. Kevin’s face hardened with a decision he made in his mind.

Joaquin didn’t have time to think what could it possibly be, before the taller one closed the distance. His large hands gripped Joaquin’s face with a new force, and his own nose stopped an inch from Joaquin’s. His intense stare moved from one brown eye to the other and Joaquin found himself not wanting Kevin to go. His cold fingers somehow snuck to wrap around Kevin’s torso, and he didn’t know who moved first, but suddenly their mouths crushed together, their chests pressed, their eyes closed.

Their lips moved hungrily, expressing everything they wanted to say but couldn’t. Their tongues fought a battle between them and their breaths passed between their open mouths, mingled. Together.

Kevin pushed them back, against the wall. Joaquin took control again, turning them over and pressing Kevin’s back to the stone. He kissed and sucked and bit, trying to convey to Kevin everything. Trying to explain. To apologize. To beg. To get closer.

Maybe, Joaquin would think later, maybe their story wasnt doomed to end. Maybe love was enough to hold them together like that, after all.

Kris : Should've Done It A Long Time Ago [Scenario]

“Baobei, that doesn’t make any sense.” He laughed, shaking his head at your remark towards the lady on the television screen. What night was that again? Yeah, that’s right. It was movie night – a night where you and Kris would just laze around in the sofa of the living room with dim lights, closed curtains, air conditioner on the regular temperature with this blanket covering both of your bodies to keep you warm. Not to mention, he had his arms around you, cradling you in with your head resting on his chest comfortably – he was always this comfortable.

“Yes it does,” You huffed, using a hand to point at the screen, “Look at that! Those are fake tears!”

“Well-oh…“ He couldn’t finish his sentence properly when suddenly the lights flickered once or twice before they went out. Your quiet gasp and the way your body trembled out of shock had made him pull you closer against him as he tightened his grip around you as he was too, alarmed by the fact that the lights went off all of the sudden. However, that wasn’t the only thing that went out as the television was now switched off, the lights by the kitchen were also off – practically, the electricity in here now was gone.

You blinked abruptly, lifting your chin to meet with Kris’s gaze. The way you looked at him worriedly had made him kiss your forehead lovingly, “It’s probably just a blackout, baobei.”

You gulped and nodded once, deciding that it wouldn’t be so bad to just laze around with Kris to have nonchalant talks before you two would sleep but the moment you heard a few clicks outside the window by the kitchen, you flinched and snapped your head over your shoulder to see what that was. Of course, Kris being the rational one decided that it was probably the wind, but you being the one who watched way too many horror movies with a billion assumptions in your mind had got up from his embrace, standing on your feet where you tiptoed to get a better view. Kris bit his lower lip, hiding his grin as he thought you looked so cute when you were careful – he couldn’t hide it when he released the bite on his lip, “Baobei, what are you doing?”

You fixed the oversized t-shirt on you before lightly patting your thighs as you took a step forward whilst still on your tippy toes, “I’m going to check…”

Before you could even walk towards the kitchen, his hand shot towards your wrist, gripping onto it tight that made you look down on him who was still on the sofa. His grin was visible to your eyes, like, how can you not see that despite the darkness enveloping around the both of you. “I’ll check, baobei. Stay here.” He spoke up, standing up where he tugged you backwards so he could stand in front of you. With that little smile he gave and how he let go of your hand like that had made you grip onto his hand where you laced your fingers together with his. His eyes widened, looking over his shoulder to you where you smiled at him this time, “I’ll come with.”

He shook his head with a wide grin, “Baobei, really?”

You huffed at him, “Shush. Just go.”

He shrugged with a hidden grin as he gripped onto your hand, giving you a small squeeze, “Alright.”

He brought you with him, taking tiny steps towards the kitchen. Straight up, here and now, you were partially amazed. Kris, being the one who is usually afraid of things like these, the one who is afraid of the horror movies and ghost movies that you loved to death… the one who had the guts to lead you two to check on what was wrong in the dark house?

This man never fails to amaze you – really.

You saw how confident he was as he stood by the kitchen doorway, his hand tightly enclosed around yours that he loosened the grip before he slipped his hand away from yours to inspect the kitchen. You wanted to pull him back to check together but based on how swift he was on his own, you blinked at him, eyes roaming around the kitchen as well in case if anything happens, you’d grab a weapon. The baseball bat beside the fridge seems like a good choice right now. That is, if anything happens.

You gaped when Kris stepped out to the mini balcony connected to the kitchen without you even knowing. Your eyes went wide as you followed behind him hurriedly to make sure there was no uninvited guest waiting for him, or you. You let out a soft scream, hands reaching for the baseball bat in a heartbeat when suddenly Kris faked a shout, his body fully out by the balcony as if someone pulled him out where you couldn’t see him unless you stepped out as well. With the baseball bat in your hands, your feet shuffling towards the door and with your heart racing, you only manage to take two steps before you froze on the spot with Kris chuckling at you when you could see he spun around with a grin on his lips. “I was just playing around, baobei. There’s nothing and no one here. It’s safe.”

You frowned at him, gaping at him where you didn’t appreciate his little ‘joke’.

He thought it was funny to see you so worried but you on the other hand, you nearly had a heart attack, for God’s sake! He knew how panicky you could get and how you could easily just pass out like that from the amount of shock that overwhelmed your body – he knew that.

His smile faded when he could see you weren’t smiling along, you weren’t even laughing as you gave him a disheartened look. He licked his lips nervously, “B-Baobei, I-“ He yet again had no chance to say what he wanted to when you shoved the baseball bat in his hands. You knew that he probably wanted to play with you, joke around but this is not the way. This can’t possibly be the way considering he knows that you’re not the type to shock like this. Not when it concerns his safety. He can joke about anything in the damn world and it wouldn’t mean anything to you but once he brings himself in and jokes about what he did a moment ago.

You can’t even fathom how things just went downhill from there. Although, you knew he only wanted to lighten up the atmosphere…

“You-“ You breathed out quietly, eyes focused on his that couldn’t continue focusing merely after a few seconds as you looked away with a sigh. You shook your head and shrugged, “Never mind.”

You swore you heard him gasping, even if it was a very quiet one as you turned your back on him to walk out from the kitchen. You could hear a soft clink, an indication that he had put back the baseball bat before you could hear his steps towards you. As he tried to hold onto you, you had already sat down on the sofa, on the spot earlier where you leaned your back against the softness as if you were sinking yourself in. At the corner of your eyes, despite the poor lighting, he had come over by your side where he frowned at you before crouching down in front of you. “Baobei?” He called out for you quietly while his hands reaching over for yours that were lifelessly on your lap. You gulped, lifting your chin to look at him blankly, “What?” Your voice was soft, and somehow he could sense it was cracked a little to emphasize on how worried you truly and sincerely was for him – he felt really horrible, too.

He knew that you knew he meant otherwise for doing so but, definitely he had chosen the wrong time to play a fool.

“I… I’m-“

“Sorry.” You finished his sentence as you too, felt sorry. You knew that in the first place, his intentions of just making the tensed atmosphere lighten up was clear from the beginning but you couldn’t help but take this the wrong way because of how much you cared for him. And you would never want anything to happen to him.

His eyes widened, eyebrows raised along as he stared at you in disbelief. Are his ears working properly?

“W-What?” He breathed out in shock, his eyes so wide that it made you chuckle just looking at him. Your hands gripped onto his before you laced them together with that look on your face that assured him that previously, that expression you gave him was just a mask. You weren’t mad, you weren’t angry.

You were just very, very worried.

“I said I’m sorry.” You spoke up, making him frown as he got up from his knees, gently tugging you up before he switched places with you as he took your seat on the sofa before he yanked you down delicately onto his lap where you straddled on him, your knees folded at the sides of his thighs as his long arms snaked around your waist, “Shouldn’t… I be the one apologizing here? For taking things too far?”

“Well…” You mumbled quietly, hands gingerly brushing on his shoulder before your arms went around his neck with your lips pressed together in a thin line. He laughed silently. His eyes curving up into a beautiful eye smile where he gave you such a genuine yet curious smile, “Well?”

“I knew you were joking but I guess I just got too carried away for worrying too much. That’s why I apologized…” He noticed how your voice trailed off shyly, your eyes avoiding his as he stared at you certainly. His head inched forward, his lips coming close where he brushed his lips with yours as a smile formed on both his and your lips simultaneously, “Baobei,” His deep voice echoed in your ears, making you flinch as you clung onto him. “Hmm?” A hushed hum came from you in response, making him lightly peck your lips before he pressed his forehead with yours. “You shouldn’t apologize…”

You gulped, thumbs behind his neck that were stroking his skin nervously, “W-Why not?”

He smirked, “Because you caring, worrying and loving me is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

And with those honest words he spoke from the bottom of his heart, he didn’t hesitate to just pull you closer by your waist, allowing your lips crash down on his as he kissed you fondly. He took his own time and pace because, well, he had all the time he wanted with you. What better time to just kiss you for as long as he wanted especially when there isn’t any electricity? Even if there was electricity, this was far better than doing anything else, if Kris had to choose.

“I love kissing you.” He stated shamelessly, his lips not giving you a chance to catch your breath as he couldn’t help but just continue kissing you – you were indeed, a drug to him. As much as you loved kissing him, you had to just frame his cheeks, stopping his kisses where you breathed out on his lips, “You didn’t cut off the power on purpose, right?”

He shook his head with a smirk, still focusing on kissing you as he replied to you cheekily in between his kisses, “I didn’t – but I should’ve done this a long time ago.”
