Contrasts of Life 人生の対比 by Patrick Vierthaler Via Flickr: Sunlight illuminating parts of Kennin-ji temple in Kyoto. Same picture as the one uploaded yesterday, turned into a monochrome photography. This lights of black and white remind me of the ups and downs of human life.
Beauty Within, Beauty Without. Kennin-ji is the oldest Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto and has beautiful art and incredible gardens. It is also possible to have a cup of matcha (green tea) in one of the garden tea houses. Photography and text by Rekishi no Tabi on Flickr. Image taken April 30, 2014
Kennin-ji, a historic Zen Buddhist temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto, Japan, near Gion, at the end of Hanami Lane. Founded in 1202 CE and claimed to be the oldest Zen temple in Kyoto, it is considered to be one of the so-called Kyoto Gozan or “five most important Zen temples of Kyoto”.
This pic is from my first full day in Japan. Ah, what fond fond memories.
