The Woods (Personal Legends)

Kels Lund - 2015

Excited to present some shots of my thesis work! The show opened last Friday and it’s been a real whirlwind: one of the hardest things I have ever done, but also the most rewarding.

I am of course incredibly indebted to the many professors who advised and supported me, and the exceptional gallery staff, as well as my friends, family, and wonderful fellow art seniors.

Featured in this year’s Senior Art Thesis Exhibition at Sheehan Gallery (Whitman College).

This week I illustrated an article addressing a subject I’ve found myself grappling with a lot recently: how appropriate is it to divorce a narrative from the political agenda of the author, particularly in regards to the recent release of Ender’s Game and Orson Scott Card’s history of explicitly homophobic, racist and misogynist rhetoric. While my opinions and the columnist’s strongly diverge, it was a pleasure to create this illustration in part as a bridge between us on this topic.

back in January I art traded with @twdschaos on Paintberri and he drew me something AMAZING of my girls and its taken me till now to finish my half. So in addition to this pic of his triad I did a bonus thing of David the demon. I LOVE demons
