~Bahay Kubo, kahit munti…~

Bahay Kubo charm bracelet
by KBelleC Creations

A few months ago, my family and I vacationed in the Philippines. When we got back, I began a mini project of crafting charms from “Bahay Kubo,” a popular Filipino folk song. A “bahay kubo” is a Nipa hut that served as a type of dwelling or resting hut. The song “Bahay Kubo” mentions the bahay kubo and how it’s surrounded by various vegetables. From left to right, the charms are arranged in the order they are sung in the song (⌒.⌒)

This commission is one of my favorites so far.  Presenting a chibi Mafia Graves-inspired charm from League of Legends!  What makes it unique is that it was modeled after the commissioner.  I had a blast personalizing this charm (^-^)

My giveaway is still going on until Sept. 30, ‘12!  Click HERE for details to enter.  I accept commissions!

Earlier this week, I received a rather large order as part of an end-of-the-year occasion for a school.  I was commissioned to create 27 charms of the school’s mascot (a robot head called an Hbot).  Among the charms were necklaces, key chains (not pictured), and pins.  It was a first for me to turn charms into pins, but I like how they turned out!  The list continues, and I am working towards even more new chibis to display, so please stay tuned :]

Hi, all!
I know my chibi-posting has been as laggy as playing a fighting game online (>_<), so my apologies. A lot has happened since I reopened my shop. My original plan was tossed to the side due to various circumstances in my career. Long story short, I am excited to be starting a new teaching adventure!

Unfortunately, that means I am limiting commissions for a while. I will still be accepting requests and working on them in the order thet were received, but I will not be able to work on time-sensitive orders for now.

In the near (or far) future, I will be working on a project that involves the #chibis, a wooden birdhouse, and a #gnome from a show I used to watch as a kid. We’ll see how it turns out. In the meantime, three new chibis are on their way to being posted. Thank you for your continued support!

Have you ever had one of those days when things just aren’t going your way? This chibi is inspired by the above quote and is part of a series I call IRL (in real life), where life’s everyday events are turned into adorable charms.

KBelleC Creations commissions are back!

Greetings, all!

It’s been so long since my last update, but I am thrilled to be able to start claying again.  As was mentioned before I left (I’m pretty sure I mentioned it), I closed commissions while completing my last year of grad school.  I am now back in the classroom, so it’s also back to lesson planning :].

Anyway! KBelleC Creations is pleased to announce its reopening of commissions (new products are also on the way).  I will be updating my commission journal on deviantART within the next few days with an updated list of custom charms.  As always, and I mean it every time, thank you so much for your continued support!

Custom Charms
by KBelleC Creations

I had fun with these adorable charms.  I was commissioned to craft chibis based on the commissioner’s daughter wearing a simple blue dress.  The charm on the left is holding a piece of paper with her name on it and the charm on the right has a cute flower print on her dress

~From the very start, please be careful with my heart~

Presenting a chibi Maya charm from the show Be Careful with My Heart.  I know quite a few fans of the Philippine daytime television drama, and a friend of mine suggested I make chibis of the main characters.  I tried it out and here is the result (^-^).  I enjoyed making the ruffles on her outfit

You can see chibi Sir Chief here: Sir Chief

Synopsis from ABS-CBN’s site
:
This is a story about a simple girl MAYA DELA ROSA (Jodi Sta. Maria) who journeys to the big city to follow her dreams to become a flight stewardess to help her family.  She would allow no one to stop her, not even the handsome, wealthy widower RICHARD LIM (Richard Yap), who threatens to ruin her dreams.

Ironically, Richard is her last hope in reaching her dreams because of his influence in the Airline Industry and he will only help Maya if she agrees to become his children’s temporary nanny.

Maya succumbs to the condition.  But upon entering the Lim Mansion, she finds herself involved in the private lives of Richard and his three problematic children LUKE (Jerome Perez), NIKKI (Janella Salvador) and ABIGAIL (Mutya Orquia).

Maya sees that there are problems to be solved in the Lim family because since Richard’s wife died, the family’s joy died with her.  And so Maya took it upon herself to bridge Richard to his children.  And eventually, she succeeds in rebuilding the Lim family.

However, in repairing their broken hearts, Maya encounters bigger challenges that will test her strength and will challenge even her own heart.  Because she falls in love with the kids and with Richard himself.
