Tampereen yliopisto - University of Tampere

The University of Tampere has a unique history in that it was founded in 1925 in Helsinki and considered as a “Civic College” (kansalaiskorkeakoulu), a concept focusing on sharing education and enlightenment with younger generations for the purpose of enhancing a peaceful, well-informed society. Officially relocated to Tampere in 1960, it now has nine distinct schools of study and hosts over 15,000 students in Finland’s third-most populous city and the most populous in-land city in the Nordic region.
