Ansbach-Katterbach, Bayern (Bavaria), Southern Germany. Ansbach is a city in Bayern (Bavaria), Southern Germany. It’s the capital of the Middle Franconia region, 40 km from Nürnberg and 140 from München. The city was not as badly damaged in WW2 as many others, so it retains much of its original historical baroque sheen. 

CURRENT NEWS: Ansbach explosion - Syrian asylum seeker killed by own bomb. A failed Syrian asylum seeker has blown himself up and injured 12 other people with a backpack bomb near a festival in the south German town of Ansbach. The state of Bavaria’s interior minister said the 27-year-old man had detonated the device after being refused entry to the music festival.

Caroline: How did you end up in Paris?

Sidney: I went there a few times.  We lived right on the airfield. 

Caroline: So, what, you would just jet off to Paris for fun?

Sidney: Well there were a couple of guys who, when they got tired of wine, would just fly over to France to pick up champagne.  So I would hitch a ride with them.  I wasn’t going to turn down a chance to go to Paris.

Caroline: Wait, what?

Sidney: Well after the war we didn’t have all that much to do.  We were just waiting to finally go home.  So we went to Paris.
