Perfect Catch by Cheryl Strahl
Via Flickr:
A Brown Bear catches a Sockeye Salmon in Funnel Creek in northern Katmai N. P., AK. But, it wasn’t long after this that it’s prize catch was stolen by another bear in an interesting fight over the salmon. This aggressive behavior happened twice while we were watching. I’ll post an image of their interaction later. (Close crop)

The Clingy Cub by Cheryl Strahl
Via Flickr:
This sow with her single cub were such a pleasure and a wonder to watch! The cub seemed to be very clingy - much to it’s mother’s continued patience while fishing for sockeye salmon. Each time another bear would come by, the one year old cub would hide behind mother and peek anxiously over her body. I wondered if maybe it had a twin which had been killed by another bear. Funnel Creek, Katmai N.P. and Preserve, AK.

The spectacle of Bears fishing in Katmai National Park. There’s a ton of live webcams of them in rivers; take a look at these links. If one isn’t up, check the next one, some of them should be working.

Coming over after picking up the scent I presume of the female in my “Sleepy Bear” image, this guy proceeded to do the “John Wayne” walk as the other male confronted him before backing down without any real interaction between them, love the way he is appearing over the long grasses.
