Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was christened at the St. Mary Magdalene’s Church in Sandringham. The service was very small and private, with only close family members, the godparents and their partners among the guests. As is tradition, Princess Charlotte wore a replica of the lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter Victoria in 1841, which has been worn by royal children during their christening since. Shortly before the service, her godparents were announced:  Sophie Carter, James Meade, Adam Middleton, The Hon. Laura Fellowes and Thomas van Straubenzee. The chosen hymns were Praise to the Lord, The Almighty and Come Down, O Love Divine. The lesson was from Matthew 18, verses 1-5, read by James Meade. The anthems are I Will Sing With The Spirit and God Be In My Head, both by John Rutter.
