kara people

The Youtube comments section for Supergirl videos featuring Superman are a hell scape of nerd boy bitterness after Clark’s loss against Kara, and I think their mindset can be summed up by this one comment:

remember that time the supergirl writers decided to change kara’s love interest from a really interesting sensitive black man (and even addressed the whole angry black man stereotype) to a white prince of a planet that owned slaves and thought that was a transition fans would support?

I love Sanvers but Kara and Alex are meant to be the most important relationship in this show?

So the propping up of Maggie’s romantic feelings for Alex, after a few months, to seem just as powerful as Kara’s for Alex- when already Alex and Kara have been separate and out of sync all season- feels like more “a drop of romantic love is more powerful than a sea of non-romantic love” cw-like nonsense that shouldn’t really be celebrated, even if it’s for a healthy lesbian relationship.

When Alex let J’onn and Mon-El traveled across universes to save Kara without her, we were like “????????”. Not just because of Mon-El, but because Alex should be the one to take care of and make the decisions for Kara when her life is in danger.

Her sister, not the romantic interest.

The fact that the romantic interest is Actually Healthy for Alex doesn’t mean that she’s on the same level as Kara. On a different show, maybe. Some shows feature sisters that aren’t this close. Some shows feature sisters that are actually bad for each other to be around.

But not Supergirl. Supergirl is about the Danvers sisters.

Well… it’s supposed to be.

I love knowing that out there are many people who ship supercorp and adore Katie Mcgrath, but also ship sanvers and respect Floriana Lima
