Fact:

The Ottawa Senators (Original Founded in 1917. Current Founded in 1992.) and Winnipeg Jets (Original Founded in 1979. Current Founded in 2011.) had to get permission to use “Ottawa Senators” and “Winnipeg Jets” as their team name as there were previous teams who used those names which either relocated or left the league.

Bart Crashley (1965-1978)

A veteran of 288 major-league games, Crashley spent time with three NHL teams, as well as the WHA’s Los Angeles Sharks. He jumped leagues after spending 1971-72 in the minor league CHL, winning the league’s Most Valuable Defenseman award. Crashley later returned to Los Angeles as a King, packaged in a blockbuster trade with Marcel Dionne. Crashley later coached Austrian professional teams for two years and spent one year as an assistant coach of the OHL’s Guelph Storm.

I had to stop watching the Lightning game

But place your bets everyone! What will the final score be? 17-1? 24-1? Maybe even Antii Niemi will score for the Sharks tonight!

Lightning, what a way for you guys to bring Marty St. Louis back, is by playing like a team worse than the expansion Kansas City Scouts. If you get this reference, than I thank you for nerding out like I have.

But seriously. Lightning, pull it together, at least make it not so embarrassing. We didn’t walk into the Shark Tank just to look like assholes.

Remember those medieval fantasy-inspired NHL sigils I made last April???

Well, I’ve finally made a new set, featuring some of the NHL teams of the past!!

From left to right we have: the Atlanta Thrashers, California Golden Seals, Colorado Rockies, Hartford Whalers, Kansas City Scouts, Minnesota North Stars, Quebec Nordiques, and the old Winnipeg Jets.

A few of these were a bit challenging, especially the Winnipeg one! I wanted to figure out something to represent the airplane jet streams, so I decided on arrows, with the roundel of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

I’m really happy with this set! If you wish to buy a printed version, They are available in my Etsy Shop.

You can also order individual banners of select current teams now, too!
