Dinner was great too, some steaks and mashed potatoes and corn on the cob (not pictured because I forgot). Then makeshift strawberry shortcake with pre-fab pound cake, fresh strawberries, and homemade whipped cream using leftover cream.
So! Adventure. I decided, with the family out of the house, to make a cake. I asked Josh what kind of cake he wanted, and he said something light and fluffy, so I went with a chiffon cake.
I read the recipe wrong /three times/, and after the third time I realised I completely forgot to add in egg yolks and I was already at the “pour batter into pan” stage so I had to scrap it and start all over.
Ah well, it’s in the oven now, just gotta wait a bit for it to bake. (:
