kaisers chiefs

some of the pranks green day has pulled on other bands
  • kaiser chiefs: green day brings an entire jazz band onto the stage during their set.
  • prima donna: crashes their set with toilet paper, confetti, booze, and costumes. also filled their dressing with smoke and confetti.
  • franz ferdiand: gets a bunch of random guys to play bagpipes onstage to while wearing kilts. also toilet paper flies everywhere.
  • jet: green day goes onstage dressed up as animals with a bunch of male strippers. the male strippers start taking their clothes off onstage.
  • the bravery: popcorn, mascots, male strippers, and toilet paper everywhere. the bravery actually got revenge on green day by “recreating” woodstock 94 and having mud flying around during their set.
  • rise against: tre cool brings a foosball table onstage and starts playing it with the band members during their show.
  • billy talent: tre cool gets the sound people to create a loud bang during the song “rusted from the rain”. the entire band gets really scared but then laugh after realizing it was tre pranking them.
  • paramore: same thing as billy talent. tre cool creates an unexpected explosion.
  • 30 seconds to mars: this was at a music festival so they weren’t even technically playing with green day but tre (obviously) decided to prank them anyways. he goes onstage dressed up as jared leto and starts banging cymbals while dancing around the stage.
  • afi: green day comes onstage in the middle of their set dressed in animal mascot costumes.
  • my chemical romance: had a huge garbage bag full of popcorn above the stage that opened during mcr’s set, covering everything with popcorn. every time gerard way tried to say something into his microphone, a loud explosion would interrupt him. green day then proceeds to come onstage, fighting each other with light sabers.
  • jimmy eat world: green day would randomly set off concussion light blasts in the middle of songs.
  • the interrupters: green day crashed their set while in costume and tried blindfolding all the band members and putting tape over their mouths while the interrupters were trying to sing.

there are more but these are some of my favourite ones. this band is honestly out of control.

What do other musicians think of Brandon Flowers?
  • Rufus Wainwright: I spent one night with him at a bar, swooning over him along with everybody else. He is so sexy yet so unhappy and also somewhat sane and crazy at the same time. I haven’t met anyone who quite fits the Brando (Marlon) mould as much as he does. There’s this dark, moody, restless . . . figure that’s sucking up all the energy out of the room. Thanks a lot, thanks a lot for not sleeping with me so I can write a song about you.
  • Calvin Harris: Brandon Flowers is hot.
  • Elton John: They’re (The Killers) absolutely brilliant, and their lead singer is one of the sexiest men on the planet.(...) I befriended Brandon very early in The Killers’ career. He has three beautiful children that my kids play with whenever I go to Vegas. Five boys playing together. And I just love Brandon, he loves all different sorts of music.
  • Brendon Urie - Panic! at the Disco: We got thrown into the beef with the Killers’ Brandon Flowers out of nowhere. We had no beef with them. Pete (Wentz)and Brandon threw us into that, man! That was unfair, I love both of them. I love The Killers. Any time I listen to The Killers I hear a bit of Bruce Springsteen, especially now, I think they've gotten more and more Americana rock, which I love. Their take on Vegas is totally unique as well, they've got the desert and it's almost like a pure, pure take on it.
  • Dallon Weekes - Panic! at the Disco: Brother Flowers is a great singer and a songwriter. I'm a fan.
  • Kenneth Harris - Panic! at the Disco: I love Brandon Flowers. His new solo album (The Desired Effect) is unbelievable.
  • Ricky Wilson - Kaiser Chiefs: I love that you know the album by what Brandon’s wearing. ‘Oh, it’s the moustache album, it’s the feathers album’. He’s quite Elton John about it. How can one man who’s so recognisable look so different?
  • Isaac Slade - The Fray: Whatever faith he holds, its just embodied in his songs … we try to do that. (Isaac referenced Brandon, who is Mormon but does not directly express his beliefs in his music).
  • Kylie Minogue: Oh Brandon Flowers!(who she would most like to work with). It's not on the cards but I just think he's amazing. It could work well. I don't think he knows I've even said that, but I'd really love to.
  • Ryan Tedder - OneRepublic: Brandon Flowers is a very pensive, interesting man and we’re very opposite in the way we communicate. With The Killers, we’re still in the process [of making the album] and I can’t speak as to their timing or anything. But I love what we’ve started immensely, obsessively even. It sounds 100% like them and nothing like me. The Killers self-produce, by the way.

Jeep Does It Again:

Sticking with Jeep tradition, they’ve just announced 6 new concepts for the Moab Easter Jeep Safari.

Concepts are as follows in descending order, left to right; the Kaiser M715 inspired ’Crew Chief 715′, a lifted Wrangler with digi-camo wrap called the ’Trailstorm’, the shortened CJ5-inspired ‘Shortcut’, the Fiat soft roader ‘Renegade Commander, another Fiat soft roader called the ‘Comanche’, and last but not least the super-green ‘Trailcat’ that is basically a wider, stockier Wrangler with a 707-hp supercharged Hellcat V8, a chopped windshield, and Dodge Viper seats.

It’s pretty obvious which ones are the most exciting and which are the Fiat least exciting.

I wouldn’t hold your breathe waiting for these to come out in the near future. Jeep has yet to go into production with any concepts shown at these events.

Boohoo. We want the Trailcat and Kaiser!
