The Obscene Interiors series is a collection of online, male personal-ad photos, with the figures obscured in shades of gray.

In the early 2000’s a confluence of new technologies (the internet, cheap digital cameras, and dating websites) allowed (or exposed) the raw state of contemporary home decor on a scale never before possible. The spaces men chose to feature themselves in, in ads usually seeking sex, (consciously or not) reveal interesting and often humorous attempts to resolve conflicting notions of masculinity and decoration.

A related book, Obscene Interiors: Hardcore Amateur Decor, was published in 2004 by Baby Tattoo Press, with a foreword by Todd Oldham.
