I think, if you pretend to be something long enough, it ain’t pretendin’.

i’ve been doing this subconsciously, but i just realized that when i get really anxious about stranger things and can’t wait for season 2 i literally just go watch episodes of parks and rec that have jean-ralphio in them because, like, close enough

I feel kinda middle of the road with TJLC tbh - like, I want to believe that SOMETHING justifies this season being meh in terms of dropping set-ups / plots / the glaring plot holes and lack of resolution on certain issues (shipping aside), but .... I guess what I'm asking is, if TJLC were less rude / disparaging of other ships and points of view, would you be less against them? I feel that I would be ... I like some of the ideas, but I HATE the dogpiling on opposing views.

To start with, I think BBC Sherlock was meh since s2. People liked s3 only because “omg it’s so gay XDXDXD tsot is the johnlock marriage episode and then in hlv sherlock is a girl name = i love you” but like… plotwise it was pretty terrible, so it’s not like BBC Sherlock being perfect is something news.

I would be less against them but still I wouldn’t like them. And not because of Johnlock, but because the writers don’t owe you shit. gatiss isn’t homophobic because he didn’t make your ship canon. you can ship whatever the fuck you want but something isn’t trash because a fanon ship wasn’t canon.

i’ve read so many posts like “gay or shit” in the tjlc tag and this prove something

tjlc doesn’t give a shit about the quality of the show. they only care about their stupid ship. if john and sherlock kissed people would have said “OMG S4 BEST SEASON” ignoring all the shit decisions they are hating now.

i’m against that and tbh i cant wait for tjlc to just… calm down and slowly become a dead tag.

looking for investors - a quick return is almost guarenteed

The censorship of Willow and Tara’s relationship in season 4 goes to show how sheltered Willow and girls of her time would have been to lesbian experiences or romance between women. This is still the case now for so many young lesbians including myself. (I accepted my sexuality around the same age as Willow. I had dated boys like Willow did. I had actually dated more boys than Willow did. You see where this is going?)

Saying Willow is bi rather than could have been (definitely not “should have been”) is a microaggression against lesbians. It is lesbophobic. Stop it.

Yes, there are issues with bierasure in it now (read: Buffy) but you can’t just point at a lesbian who went through compulsory heterosexuality in high school over 15 years ago and label her bisexual when she’s been out and proud for years.

I firmly believe the decision to not fully explain this on the show came from not wanting to turn their relationship into a gimmick. I believe it was done out of respect but also due to their limitations on what they could say. Willow herself says on countless occasions, however, that she is a lesbian and clearly has no interest in being with men ever again once she accepts her own orientation.

Respect this. Respect lesbians. Respect our experiences and our stories. Actively seeking to erase us is wrong.
