i love the fact that like… if you wanted to you could throw a chair… stool…. lamp… medium sized houseplant… even a lightweight table…. theres nothing physically stopping you from throwing furniture around, only social constructs and your own cowardice.
i miss being in a relationship and staying up late on the phone or laying in bed with one another wide awake just talking about nonsense in the middle of the night while holding each other or rubbing your thumb along their hand. i miss surprise dates and staying in for movie nights or just running errands together because that’s time spent together and getting butterflies even when you text them.
Can we just let people enjoy things, please?? Let Hamilton fans blast the songs and sing along. Let the DEH make Connor is alive AUs and draw him with flowers in his hair. Let Heathers fans ship JD and Veronica. They are literally not hurting anyone?? As long as they recognize that Hamilton/Connor/JD/whoever are all still horrible people and their flaws are not forgiven then??? Why are you so against people having fun. Let them make stupid jokes and let them ship their stuff and get over it. Just because you’re bitter and decided that you can’t like anything that other people like it doesn’t mean that you have to hate on other people’s fun. Let them enjoy things. Don’t be a prick.
Jared: I agree with Cas. Or whatever his name is. Misha: Did you just call me Cas? Jared: I did. Misha: That’s sweet, man, real sweet. Jared: What’s your real name? Misha: I feel like we’ve gotten really close.
Nobody has to agree with me on this since I understand everyone has their own opinion and such, but assuming that all Western artists have ulterior motives when it comes to their interactions with BTS at/after the BBMAs is kind of … unnecessary?
Sure, I get that is how the industry works and making connections is the way to gain a bigger audience worldwide. But literally claiming every snapchat or collaboration or mention of BTS by another Western artist as the artist being obsequious in order to weasel their way into Eastern culture and reach a wider following makes it come across that you only think BTS are worth the interactions for their money and status. Remember that these Western artists are musicians too, and so, of course, they are going to pay their respects and perhaps try to learn more about BTS, the first Korean pop group in history to make it as nominees, nonetheless win an award on the Billboard Music Awards. That does not mean that they are prying for an opportunity to take advantage of the boys’ fame for their own sake.
Let BTS have their moment. Let them be respected by the artists that we all know they respect without having to assume every little detail. They deserve this time to shine and make an even greater name for themselves in the Western world!
