Okay, thank you! I am about to be a senior in high school (first day is literly tomorrow) and I just feel so anxious because I feel like I need to have my life figured out and I have no idea what I want to do as a major/what my intelligence can allow me to do. I have always figured that I would go into a science field, but that's the extent of what I have planned and that isn't even something I'm really set for. I'm just trying to say thank you, I honestly needed that to calm my nerves.
HOO, friendo. A) no one told me you can go into college undeclared. BUT YOU CAN GO INTO COLLEGE WITH NO SET MAJOR. You can be undeclared and take classes your first semester or two and find out what you like.
B) I think that most things are just about what you want to do day to day.
When I realized I didn’t want to be an English major, it wasn’t because I didn’t like writing–it was because I didn’t want to write things that other people told me to every day. I wanted my writing to be because I wanted to do it, and I needed a job that wouldn’t ruin something that I loved so much.
So I chose science, because I had always wanted to be a doctor but decided that I didn’t want to do THAT day to day either (and good thing because when I had my spinal tap in my senior year of college I realized that there was no way I could have ever done that to another human). But I fell in LOVE with research. I love going to work every day. I get excited about it. I care so much about what I’m trying to figure out, and I’m so invested in the answers. I love the people I work with and I love the feeling it gives me when I take a guess that someone tells me isn’t totally crazy, or maybe a guess that people tell me is totally crazy but that I should look into it.
You don’t need to find your passion, because you’re a complicated person with a lot of interests and passions and things you like to do. There isn’t one right career and the rest of them will make you miserable. There’s a lot. and I mean a LOT. of right answers.
Lol if Molly and Lucy were identical twins they could legit be Isla Fisher and Amy Adams
Don’t even GET me started lmao, just the other day I was
looking at my DVD collection and trying to figure out which one of them was in
Definitely, Maybe and Enchanted without checking – I knew Amy Adams was in Leap
Year and has a slightly harder face, and Isla Fisher was in Confessions of a
Shopaholic and has a softer face, but … I was sat there for like ten mins
trying to figure it out … they could seriously do films under each other’s
names and I would not know lol
I just found this [x] and when that trailer came out I didn’t
even notice the film had both of them in it…
But seriously, I think this would work well lol, because Amy
Adams has the straight Weasley nose whereas Isla Fisher has the softer kinda
face that I imagine Audrey having … and Isla Fisher looks more like Percy in
the movies whereas Amy Adams looks more like my version of Audrey. So this is a
really good dreamcast! But I bet Percy and Audrey have the same problem of
telling them apart
“My English is not good. Spoken English is very difficult. But I want to study at Columbia so I am trying to improve. I decided to come to America because of Forrest Gump. I’ve watched the movie five times. I like Forrest very much. Forrest is very simple. He picks one thing, and he keeps going. When I was young, I thought Forrest was stupid. But now I have a different view. I think people are too complicated. They complain about everything. Forrest never complains. Forrest chooses one thing and he keeps going. I watched the movie last month to encourage me. My life is hard because people don’t ever know what I’m saying. But I just think of Forrest. Forrest figured everything out because he just kept going.”
listen up, kids, sky’s here to tell you something:
it’s okay to have interests that you don’t necessarily want to pursue at a higher level even if your parents think otherwise/think it isn’t ‘worth so much time’
so, you wanna write a book, but you don’t wanna get a degree in english literature? go for it! you wanna get a chemistry set and blow up some shit and learn from it, but you don’t wanna be a chemist? go the fuck ahead! you wanna figure out what the binomial theorem is at the age of thirteen, but you don’t wanna become a maths professor? by all means, knock yourself out!
you can learn from a whole range of different things, but that doesn’t mean you have to make it your life’s work or get a degree in it.
you’re young, you’re curious. try new things. dabble in different areas. it doesn’t matter if you have sixteen things you like doing, or just six. it’s all okay.
- Don’t challenge him to any video game. He will. Destroy. You. Does not matter if you’re his best friend. You’re going down, and he’ll smile the entire time.
- Animals?? Love him?? Koda low-key gets excited.
- Pretty good artist. He doesn’t do it a lot, but it’s one thing him and Bakouga have in common. Not that either know. (Thats a lie. Katsuki has seen him draw, but doesn’t comment. He’s a little impressed tbh.)
- As they get older, and he gets more stable with his quirk he just. Picks people up. Randomly. Todoroki in his way? Dat boi in the air and set down before he can blink. Iida ranting too early in the morning? Tossed over the shoulder and thrown on the couch with a very drawn out “shhhhhh”. Shoji cries the first time Izuku does it to him cuz he thought nobody could pick him up anymore. Piggy back rides are a regular thing by third year. Even Momo gets in on it. (They’re all low-key attracted by it, but no one saying shit.)
- Good artist. doodles mostly and doesn’t talk about it.
- very big dog person. Cats are okay- he’d own one, yeah, but dogs are where its at. When he gets one later in life, people are shook by how well trained and affectionate the pupper is.
- Tone deaf. No one takes him to karaoke after the incident.
- He likes?? Kids?? No one was expecting this when they went on a field trip to the elementary school. Kirishima kinda thinks its cuz he regrets what he did to Izuku, and is sorta trying to make up for it.
- When no one is around, he listens to really soft music.
- By third year he is known as The Prankster. He’s gotten too comfortable. Everyone fears the 1st of April. Even Bakouga locks himself in his dorm. (The only ones safe are Izuku and Momo- but they help him in secret.)
- The sass master by second year. “Did you run all the way here?” “No, just briskly walking throws me into cardiac arrest.”
- Really likes small animals. Hamsters? Heck ye. Chinchilla? STOP HIS HEART WILL BURST. (But hes also scared he’ll accidentally hurt them. Sweet boi.)
- Ride or die friend. Will drive at two in the morning to wherever they hell u managed to land yourself at. Probably would help you hide a body too.
- This boy can’t figure out video games to save his life. Prefers chess and crosswords. (But will try to play for Izuku.)
- Surprisingly, he’s that one person always taking pictures. His phone is loaded with selfies of him and and his friends. The only physical evidence that he smiles. He carries a selfie stick around and no one lets him forget it (but he doesn’t understand why its so funny?? he likes taking selfies with his friends. :( )
- Unhealthy obsession with flower crowns. He has like 10 at his dorm that he wears around when they aren’t training. (He made them himself.)
- Rly good at comforting. best hugs. Well, after Shoji. Good listener. 11/10 would have as best friend.
- Really likes fictional books. Especially action filled ones. Bakugou was v surprised when he was laying on his friend’s floor and looked under the bed to find. like. fifty books. They all have rlly colorful covers and outrageous plots, but Kiri will defend them to the ends of the earth.
- fav pass time is to just.. walk. Where is he? probs just walking around the school grounds. Has accidentally stayed out after curfew. Got an earful from Aizawa.
- Makes some bomb ass tea. However, he prefers coffee or cocoa. Midnight regularly makes him brew the staff tea tho.
- Regularly daydreams about being a cat
- His apartment has one (1) picture hanging on the wall. Its of his cat. Mic gave it to him one year as a joke. The blond still cries a little whenever he sees it.
- he writes down and saves weird things his students say. He has enough material to make roughly 3 books filled with quotes. He’s planning to publish them when he retires.
- Regularly gets attacked by birds. No. Really. It’s an actual problem. Birds are assholes.
- Both of his parents have regular human heads. His birth was very odd. And his dad couldn’t exactly accuse his mom of cheating, ya know? That would just raise so many strange questions.
- He’s not much of an animal person. The irony is not lost to him.
- Prefers hand-held games. He also joins Todo for chess usually. They are pretty evenly matched.
Here are some tips that help me draw people that look like actual people
References from the internet are good, but references you make yourself are better
Why tho? Because we know what we look like. How we move, what our body does when it twists and turns - we know our own bodies far better than any stranger’s. Taking pictures of yourself in crazy poses helps not only put your own personality into the characters you draw, it gives you a better understanding of anatomy and pose dynamics. Even if you aren’t a model, every human is expressive in their own way, and chances are the fact that you aren’t a model is going to put a lot more realistic depth and likability into your drawings. Why do you think folks at Disney, Laika and more depend on their own footage other than one’s handed to them?
Here are some of mine. I will embarrass myself for education.
Draw the human figure every chance you get
I know we don’t all have access to top notch figure drawing classes, but I’m assuming we all have friends (?) that would love to jump in and pose for us every so often. I try and do a session of 1 min poses daily before I start work on my comic. It helps my mind think three dimensional and it’s fun to see yourself improve as time goes on. PLUS you can always go back to a drawing you like and reference that in another drawing too! There are websites all over that have free image drawing sessions you can choose from. Or you can be a creep like I am and go sit in public places and sketch people from afar (or even just go up to them and ask to draw them, I find most people are flattered and don’t mind at all). A good idea is to switch every now and then between pencil and pen. I know, pen is scary, but so is growth. Go nuts.
These are from when I first started figure drawing. Don’t do what I did and leave out the hands/feet just because they’re hard.
Capture the pose now, add your own style later
I don’t want to start an art student fight on Tumblr, so I’ll just say this: Ya can’t add the pzazz if you don’t have the pza. If your foundations aren’t strong, guess what, you’re drawing is going to suffer. You can try and hide it with your own stylistic choices, sure, but anyone artist or not can look at a drawing and tell that something is “off” when you don’t have your fundamentals down. Take - your life drawing - seriously. I understand that not everyone LOVES to draw bottles and bowls for three hours, I get it. But if you can’t draw bottles and bowls in front of you correctly, how can you expect to draw bottles and bowls from your noggin correctly? Remember this equation: (Fundamentals)pza + (Your own thang)zz = pzazz.
Cute drawing, right? Wrong. This doesn’t even make sense. Let’s play a game called “how many mistakes can you see in this old drawing” of mine?
Accept that drawing people is the hardest thing to draw and take the time you need to make a good drawing
Whoever says that drawing people is easy is lying.
Ask all the professionals out there, drawing the human figure takes practice, practice, practice.
Folks who have been working at Disney for years are still required to enroll in company exclusive figure drawing classes daily. There are days I can whip out a model sheet in thirty minutes, then there are some days it takes me a good two hours to get a face to look right. You WILL learn the more you do it, but that’s assuming that you are dedicated and will set time aside every day to challenge yourself and take your work seriously. If you desire to go into the animation industry, or any art occupation for that matter, expect the people hiring you to ask you for figure drawings in your portfolio.
Imagine there’s billion of people sitting around thinking that life shouldn’t happen this way. Holding their own worlds inside their minds. Creating an imagination of how good life must be.
And then there’s another billion walking throughout the day—working hard just to survive and sleep their exhaustion at night. People who did a cycle they love—and secretly hate at the same time.
But I know you’re thinking that there’s still another billion of people looking for love. Who never surrender on finding and hoping for a romantic relationship that would lasts. People who keep on pushing themselves up just to reach a dream they always wanted from the very start.
There’s also billion of people who are still wondering what they want in life. People who are still trying to figure out which way should they cross. And which place they are going to call home.
Billion of people are loving each other. Sharing moments and making memories they want to remember later on. People who already found someone who they can share their secrets forever.
You see, I am not sure what another billion of people is doing now. Maybe they are asleep and dreaming their hearts out. Maybe they are awake—wondering why happiness doesn’t come at their doors. Maybe they are out there, confused of what they should really do.
And so the last billion—the people who will tell you a lot of things about their experiences. People who can tell you what truly it feels to live, and to die even if you’re still breathing. People who never get tired of telling their stories even if other people think nobody are listening. People who will tell you the wrong things you shouldn’t do, and remind you of the right things you should do. Yet in the end they will end up telling you that you make your own story, so do whatever it is that feels right for you.
I don’t know exactly how many people are here. But I am sure that each— billion—has different stories—to tell , and has the same lessons for them—to share.
ma.c.a // I counted all the feelings, And it was not accurate
Aries: When you feel like you’ve achieved nothing in your life. Taurus: When you become so stressed out that you feel like you want to scream and cry at the same time. Gemini: When you lose a really close friend and you have no idea how so you just rack your brain trying to figure put where you screwed up; even if it wasn’t your fault. Cancer: When you blame yourself for everything and feel as if you’re a terrible person. Leo: When you feel like no one listens to you or cares about you. Virgo: When your heart gets broken over and over again. Libra: When someone takes advantage of you, yet you still stay their friend because you don’t want to be alone. Scorpio: When you worry about being forgotten by everyone you know/knew. Sagittarius: When you’re happy for a long period of time, but then you just become sad for no apparent reason. Capricorn: When you feel like life is no longer a blessing, but now a curse.
Aquarius: When you lock yourself away and begin to normalize it. Pisces: Feeling alone, even when you’re not alone.
[Tyler Ford on Ariana] I wrote about this for Rookie. When I first went off hormones and didn’t know where I stood gender-wise and was trying to figure myself out, I was living with Ari and was spending everyday with her, 24/7. She was always the first person to just be like, “All right, you do you. I love you, and I still think you’re the most amazing person, no matter who you are, even if you don’t know what pronouns you’re going to settle on.” Every day, she would ask me, “How are you doing, now that you’re off hormones? Do you feel OK? What pronouns are you feeling today? What pronouns do you want me to use?” Even though I was struggling with who I was, I always felt comfortable with her, even if I didn’t feel comfortable with myself or anyone else.
All Might has mentioned that people have been trying to figure out his quirk/lineage for years. Being that he was quirkless and received One for All, he just gives interviewers the run-around until they drop the topic.
Now Todoroki’s flashback
As a little kid he was listening to an interview with All Might where All Might more or less says, “While it’s true kids inherit quirks from their parents, thats not what matters! What matters is how they define their own power! Their own person!” and this like fucking saved Todo’s life here.
And you know what? I promise you All Might was giving that answer out of pure canned on-the-fly bullshit. Because the sort of question to warrant that was probably, “So All Might, did you inherit your quirk from your mom? Your dad? How do you define it exactly?”
Like the reporter was definitely probing him for personal info. and All Might’s answer was, “yeah okay im gonna monologue for 5 minutes about something that doesnt really answer your question but sounds inspirational in hopes that you move on cuz yeah not answering that.”
Frigging. All Might’s defining words to Todoroki were in all likelihood just the result of All Might avoiding the question he was asked.
A/N: Happy Angst Appreciation Day round three, it’s a day late, but life happens. Reader is Dean’s 17 year old daughter who has a twin brother named Robby.
Dean x Daughter!Reader Sam x Sister!Reader
You stood at the counter of the diner trying to decide if you should go back to the booth where your father, uncle, and twin brother sat, or if you’d have a better time alone at the counter. You’d gone up to ask for more napkins to clean up a spill that Robby, your twin had made. However glancing back you saw that they had waved down the waitress who your dad and brother were both flirting with.
With the roll of your eyes you took a seat at the counter; knowing you’d actually enjoy your meal if you weren’t near your father or brother.
You loved them both dearly and at one point your entire family was so close knit that your absence would have been noticed right away. However as you grew older the bond you shared with your twin and father began to disappear and once you started going on hunts with your dad and uncle, it all but vanished.
At first you told yourself that you were overreacting; that your father was just constantly worried about you, but as time went on you saw how close Robby and your dad still were, yet you remained on the outside.
It was something that your dad and brother both seemed oblivious to. Whenever you’d try to involve yourself in what they were doing they would send you away with some excuse as to why you couldn’t participate with them and soon you just stopped asking.
This never seemed to effect them, but it sure effected you.
Your father and Robby might not have seen what they were doing, but your Uncle Sam sure did. At first he tried to stick up for you, pointing out to Dean all the times it seemed that Robby and him would purposefully leave you out. Dean would deny it and after countless arguments with no change Sam stopped trying. Instead he became the figure in your life you so desperately wanted.
Still, there were times that Sam got sucked into whatever fun Robby and your dad were having; leaving you to be the outsider in your family again.
It was a role you learned to accept and gave up hope that it’d change.
So you’re in a magickal funk. You haven’t done a spell in months, and let’s face it, you’re already exhausted, but the thought of not dedicating any time to your practice is stressing you out more than you’d like. There’s nothing major going on in your life right now that warrants the energy to do a spell or ritual so you’re stuck thinking “why bother?”
This has been the case with me on more than one occasion, especially lately. I’m sitting here thinking…”man, I learned all of this stuff, had a lot of success and a few failures; I want to do magick but I just…can’t.” I work too much. I’ve got a lot on my mind. Nothing about raising energy and putting it to rest sounds appealing because all I really want to do is sleep.
I’m sure some of you have read my “Passive Magick” series; if not, here is part I and part II; but what happens if you don’t even have the time or energy to do some of the most basic things I mentioned in those posts (like clean house, cook dinner, or even take a shower)?
Since this is a personal struggle that I’m sure many of you also face, I’ve had to think long and hard about how I can practice magick in a minimalistic way without giving up all together, so here is what I’ve come up with.
Think of all the reasons why you’ve become unmotivated or uninterested in your practice, and make a list. If you don’t feel like busting out a pen and paper, use the memo pad on your phone. It’ll take 5 minutes at the very most. For me, it’s got a lot to do with work, stress from work, being tired, adulthood in general, personal relationships, and overall worry about the people I love (gotta love being an empath).
Alright, you’ve made a short and simple list of all of the stressors in your life, which might have stressed you out more than you already were, but let’s move on.
This next part sounds simple but might end up being a little more complicated than you think - it’s okay, stick with it: make some notes on your list about how to improve those situations, or simply jot down the opposite of what’s going on. For example, I might not be so tired all the time if I got a good night’s sleep - it doesn’t always help, but it might if I actually tried, who knows. I might have an easier time at work if my communication skills were up to par, and if I knew how to handle stress without getting overwhelmed. Home stress may be relieved if I was better organized as far as like, paying my bills early and trying to save money. I might worry less about my family if I visited with them more. You get the idea. Next…
So basically, by listing ideas to combat your stressors, you’ve inadvertently come up with ideas for spells to help you along the way. For me, this entails…
an anti-stress spell
a communication spell (for both work and interpersonal relationships)
a sleep spell (preferably one where I have no dreams)
an organization spell
a motivation spell
You get the picture, I’m sure.
Okay, so now…. you have to do the spells. Ugh. Even the thought of doing such a thing wears me out, but let’s entertain the idea of putting together a multipurpose spell jar. You can easily figure out the correspondences for things like better communication, better sleep, relieving stress, and staying motivated. You might even know a few correspondences off hand so you don’t have to do too much digging for information.
At this point, head over to your spice cabinet, kitchen pantry, craft drawer, or whatever and gather some supplies. Don’t even bother trying to go buy new stuff. Use what you already have, and try not to choose multiple ingredients for the same intent. Just pick one, it’ll make your life easier.
Now, anyone who has ever made a spell jar before knows the process of stating your intent as you add your ingredients to the jar. It takes little effort on your part to mumble some words like “ok lavender your job is to keep me relaxed and relieve my stress.” Do this with each ingredient and bam, done. Seal the jar and…then what?
Well, what about timing the spell? That part is up to you: you might choose to utilize a certain phase of the moon, or you might not even care to wait until a particular lunar phase because you don’t give two hoots about the moon, at all. Maybe you choose to do the spell at night because for the first time all day, you’re somewhat relaxed. Once again, that’s totally fine.
Okay…but I have to charge this stupid jar somehow. Well, you can lightly channel energy from external sources to power your spell so you don’t tire yourself out and lose motivation before you even begin. Craft a super simple sigil that states “this spell jar is charged and activated” or write that sentence on paper and set your spell jar on top of it. Draw a picture of a constellation or rune that corresponds to power or enchanting and set the jar on top of that. Stick a piece of quartz on top of the jar. Add a little sea salt water to the jar (it’s a natural conductor of electricity and energy). There are lots of easy ways to charge your jar. Done and done.
Alright, my spell jar is made and charged so…now what do I do?? Remember that mundane effort is just as important when it comes to magickal workings. Buy a planner to keep you organized, or open the calendar app on your phone and mark important dates. If you know you need at least 8 hours of sleep to feel energized, then don’t wait until 2am to lay down in bed. If communication is an issue, then actually try to talk to people and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, especially in the workplace.
These are just examples that mostly cater to my specific and personal situations, but you can easily modify these ideas to suit your needs. One good spell may be just the thing you need to kickstart your practice again, and this method is simple and straightforward enough that pretty much anyone can do it, even on your worst days.
It’s easy to feel like you’re failing at life when the only snap shots you get of other people are positive ones. But it’s so important to remember that you’re only seeing a small piece of the entire picture of a person’s life - pieces that are often filtered or embellished, or sometimes completely falsified, to paint the appearance that everything is okay. But these people you’re comparing yourself to who seem to have their life together, who are living enviable lives and have smiling photos and celebratory status updates and blog posts showcasing their adventures - their lives are not as easy or perfect as they might seem. Yes, there may be moments of happiness and laughter and accomplishment, but there are also moments of heartbreak and loss and loneliness. There are days when they feel painfully inadequate or invisible or defeated. Days when they’re drowning in shame or self-doubt or fear. They aren’t the paragons of success and happiness that you’ve built them up to be.
Because the truth is that NO ONE has everything figured out. No one’s life is easy and without struggle. It’s human and it’s normal. And it’s OKAY. It’s okay to struggle. It’s okay to feel lost and unsure and overwhelmed. It’s okay to not have it together every minute of every day. It’s okay to be exactly where you are and feel all the things you feel. You don’t have to have all the answers or do things perfectly. You just have to show up and try. You have to trust that you can struggle and lose your way and still end up where you need and want to be. That you can not have it together and still live a meaningful and accomplished life.
Louis is a riding instructor at a summer camp, and Harry is a fellow counselor who he’s been successfully managing his crush on for the last two summers. That is, until Harry shows up this year leveled up and lethal, and all Louis’s formerly perfected veneer of nonchalance melts like a Popsicle in the sun.
After completing his prestigious dance training overseas, Harry returns to England to begin teaching in one of London’s elite ballet schools. Only, certain dancers aren’t too happy to have him suddenly on board. Or his well-fitted lycra uniform. Throw in some unusual dynamics, tense elevation demonstrations and an unlikely dance partnership, and you’ve got yourself a pretty interesting edition of Matthew Bourne’s ‘Swan Lake’.
Or the one where Harry is the new ballet teacher, despite him being younger than everyone in his class, and Louis is less than impressed by his inescapable talent. They sort themselves out eventually.
**I am in love with this fic. Listen, even if you don’t love ballet, you will love this.
“Of course, the ONE time a ridiculously attractive man shows up at Louis’ home, butt naked, he turns out to be an arrogant love god. Not only that, but he’s an arrogant love god facing a multi-million pound lawsuit, possible banishment from Mount Olympus, and a shit ton of adjustment issues.”
Alternatively: Harry is Cupid, Louis and Liam own a law firm, and they’re all getting sued.
**HARRY CRIES GLITTER!! NEED I SAY MORE?!?! But in all seriousness, this fic is gold. Go read it!!
Harry knows, objectively, that he shouldn’t try to get his ghostwriter into bed. He knows. But…he finds it hard to resist temptation when Louis waltzes into his home and his life and turns everything upside down. And, as it turns out, Louis might just need a little turning upside down too.
**This fic was a treat to read. Harry is a troubled soul and Louis helps him figure himself out.
You Won’t Believe Who Was Spotted Leaving Harry Styles’ Primrose Hill Pad!
If Harry was being completely honest, it probably wasn’t the best idea to be a world-renowned popstar and an infamous vigilante.
(Especially when all the comic books said never reveal your secret identity to keep your loved ones safe – which was all well and good, until Louis.)
Or: Harry wants a lot of things – fame, glory, Louis – but that last one is particularly hard to get when everyone thinks you’re dating your secret superhero alter-ego and suddenly you’ve become your own worst cockblock.
**This is fucking hilarious!! A very funny twist to your vigilante fics!!
Louis is the father to the most brilliant little boy in the world who is all Louis really needs, or at least that’s what he tells himself. Harry is a gorgeous boybander fresh off a two year break and a massive scandal that’s left him a little broken and more than ready to move on.
They fall in love.
**I have been following this one since it had been a WIP. It is a good read.
For as long as anyone can remember, Old Hillsbridge Manor has always been believed to be haunted. Everyone in the village agrees and keeps a respectful, fearful, distance. New in town after a bad breakup and an internship that led to disappointment rather than a permanent job, Harry Styles figures taking pictures of the decrepit building could be a great new creative project. Or at least a much-needed distraction while he searches for a job and crashes at his parents’ new house. No one warned him about the apparitions though; about the music, the laughter, the people who flicker and vanish when you call after them, the echoes of a past that should be long gone… Harry has never believed in spirits but even he can admit that there’s something weird going on. What starts as mere curiosity evolves into a full-blown investigation and soon enough, Harry finds himself making friends with an aristocrat from the 1920s and struggling with finding the best way to tell him that he’s dead.
The Ghost Hunter AU where Niall lives to prove ghosts are real, Zayn is a skeptical librarian and Harry gets caught up in a century-old mystery and catches feeling in the process.
**This fic has probably been recced everywhere in every list as it should be. It is one of the most unique fics I have read. Also, the feels are real. Get ready to cry.
The Nanny AU in which Louis is the sassy gay Nanny-by-accident taking care of the kids of movie director Harry Styles. Also there’s Liam as the butler, Niall as Louis’ best friend, Zayn as the model/actor and Nick as Harry’s partner from work that maybe wants a bit more from Harry than cooperation.
**This is hilarious, Also, Nick is a dick. So, you know, a warning…
Louis Tomlinson has just landed his dream job, coaching soccer at Augustus University. When he moves into a new house near campus, he meets his very fit new neighbor, English professor Harry Styles. Although their first meeting leads to an instant mutual dislike, the more Harry gets to know Louis, the more he likes what he sees.
Or the one where Harry’s African grey parrot spills his dirty secrets to his very hot neighbor.
**This one was so good, guys. You will fall in love with Darcy, the parrot. And it got me looking into parrots and stuff. They are awesome!! But read this fic first!!! I am also quite curious about the writer. I really liked their writing style and would love to read more of their works!!
Harry has dreamed of a world outside the tiny village of Holmes Chapel for as long as he can remember… a world full of magic and adventure and true love. It was nothing but a childhood dream, however, until an old family friend comes bearing word of a plot against Harry’s life and a very dangerous truth: Harry is the rightful heir to the crown and must embark on a perilous quest to reclaim his throne from the ruthless would-be King Simon. But in the end Harry will find himself fighting for more than a crown, and on the verge of losing something much more precious than his sovereign power. Because magic might be real, but life is not a fairy tale, and Harry is a prince up against a very big dragon.
Or: a medieval fantasy AU in which Harry is a prince in disguise and Louis is the king of the faeries.
Harry has been alive for decades, and yet he’s never been as confused and dumbfounded. He’s a witch, for God’s sake. Can’t get much weirder than all the magical things he’s experienced throughout his lifetime. Never in a million years, however, would he have expected to be mere inches away from a hybrid.
Or: Harry is a witch who’s still working on developing his powers and Louis is a werecat who falls into his life and turns it upside down.

Okay, serious talking now. What would be the worst point in each paladin to attack. We know about Lance's insecurities, but what else? What about the others? I want to read your opinion because you do awsome meta and character analysis.
???????? Wow, thank you ;A; And I’m not sure if I can answer this well for all paladins but I’ll try^^ [tl;dr at the end because this post has gotten really long]
Let’s start with Lance. Lance honestly has many points to attack, which is probably why this fandom is so focused on langst. It’s easy to create content for that because we have so much to work with:
1. his insecurities about his role on the team and in general
I already wrote a lot about it here (and also here a little), desperately trying to figure out how strong these insecurities are but there is no doubt that they exist^^ Surprisingly, they actually seem to be very strong, to the point that fandom only exaggerates them slightly. Lance is just pretty good at hiding them.
Lance is homesick. Really homesick. He’s homesick to the point that he would leave a party to hang out alone and get lost in his memories:
He is also the one that references his life on Earth the most often. “I missed 14 days for a stomachache in 3rd grade that I never really had”, “That’s the tagline of 6 of my favorite movies” - those are little things, not very important in the overall picture but they prove that he thinks back to his past.
3. fear of death/unnatural things that are dangerous
Lance isn’t afraid of aliens, that’s not what I mean with it - I’m talking about the episode Crystal Venom where the castle was trying to kill him. Here is an analysis on how deeply that episode really disturbed him. As for his fear of dying - he is the one that has been confronted with death the most of all the paladins (excluding Shiro - but Shiro has lost/repressed lots of his traumatic memories). Here’s proof:
S1E1. He thought Hunk had died in the explosion when they were trying to retrieve the yellow lion. S1E4. The explosion nearly killed him - “you would have died if Hunk and Coran hadn’t gotten a new crystal” (Pidge, S1E6). S1E9. He almost got sucked out of an airlock. S2E2. The snake monster thingy got free of the stone and Lance was in the direct line of fire.
He was the one screaming “we’re gonna die, we’re gonna die!!” in S2E5 when they had to hold the lenses for the wormhole maker. Lance is scared of death not despite but because he knows it the best of all of them. He almost died multiple times and he saw his friends almost dying multiple times (the Hunk thingy I included above, when he saved Coran from the explosion, when he thought he had to save Coran in “Crystal Venom”, when Pidge in the cube episode got shot down and didn’t reply to them). Look at his reaction vs the reaction of the other paladins when they thought Allura had died:
They are all shocked and disbelieving, meanwhile Lance:
He’s neither shocked nor disbelieving, he’s just hurt. One of his deepest fears became reality and there is nothing he could do about it.
