just trying a thing

I hate this phrase..

“But you promised…”

This has to be my most hated phrase ever as of late next to ‘get over it already’.

Guys, please understand that promises can be broken for a variety of reasons. I mean, seriously, do I have to list the reasons why they can be or can some people not see past their own nose as to what’s going on in someone else’s world?

Unless you pay for something, nobody is obligated to fulfill a promise.

I’ve made some promises to people that I could do a RP for them, and when I tell them ‘no, I can’t anymore’, they still hound me about it keeping that phrase above my head like it’ll randomly change my mind.

People can and will change their minds about stuff all the time for (again) a variety of reasons. Also, guess what? People are actually not obligated to give you a reason as to why they cannot fulfill the promises they made.

Do understand that for me, personally, I try with all my heart and soul to fulfill every promise I make to people, but sometimes I just cannot give it all for everyone for personal reasons. There is no reason that people should hold that above my head. Understand that I am human, and I make mistakes when I don’t mean to and I make promises I cannot keep.

There is no binding contract with these words of ‘I promise’, and people need to understand this and just let it go.

Stuff piles up on my plate at a rapid speed, and I am doing everything I can to write and draw for myself and for others to keep them happy and content. However, everything sent my way, I am not obligated to do or respond to, but I will do my best. Just do not guilt me about it…ever!

As a gentle reminder: I think of you guys sometimes more than I do myself. Seeing others happy makes me happy, but again…there’s only so much of me I can push around the table.

Hi! I have a question I've been dying to ask you for a while now. I've been seeing all of these animatics on YouTube, and I've been wanting to make my own so badly. However, I don't know what programs to use, or how to fool around with them to get the frames right. I was wondering since you are so talented in digital art and animation, if you could maybe upload a tutorial to your YouTube account, or maybe just on tumblr to help ppl like me? It would help more than u can believe! Tysm!!!

First of all you don’t need a particolar program to do animatics, I use manga studio/clip studio paint to make the drawings and then sony vegas to put it all toghether with the music but heck you can do it even with paint and movie maker, it’s not the tool that make the artist.

There’s not really a tutorial I can do because it’s just animation with less frames and colors. When it comes to animatic, since you’re limited by less frames everything that count is the fluidity and how compatibles your drawings are with the music. If you have a loud bang and your character is falling down you want the momentum of the fall (the moment they hit the ground) timed perfectly with the loud bang in your music. It’s all about having a good sense of time and knowing how to use the music at your advantage. I’ve seen so many animatics that compleately ignored the music and just limited the characters opening they mouths when talking and that would be ok for a simple video but you need to make a music video. The video has to follow the music.

Taking as example my animatics you got helpless, story of tonight rep. and congratulation. they are respectively a upbeat song, a very goofy and comic song and a more drammatic/serious one. You have to learn how to time your frame accordingly to the kind of music you’re animating. For the upbeat music everything is constantily moving, for the goofy music times are comedic times focussed on the silly movments of the characters and the drammatic one needs drammatic camera movments and right timing for the rack up of a lot of tension and then at the right time release that tension.

Movment is extremely important, a blink of a eye, a boucy hair or dress, a little squatch/strech inbetween frames can make a huge difference. I suggest you watch this and if you want also the rest of the videos I consider them the bible of animation.

There’s so much things I could talk about but everything is just shades and shades of you needing to speriment with it but all the important things are 1 follow the beats and the song 2 try to make the characters match their voices feelings 3 add movments whenever you can

Just try to study the animatic you like more, pause them frame by frame if you need it, figure out what they did and how you can do it too

Ravenclaw Headcanon

Ravenclaws are known for their extremely dry humor, and they are almost always the ones that crack the extremely sarcastic jokes and everyone around them stops and stares at them for a moment to try and figure out if they were serious or not.

thanks for inviting me to the party. if you need me, i’ll be in the corner, drinking & trying not to make eye contact

You wanna know what I find real cute?

I find it reeeeaaal cute that all of these aphobic exclusionists (especially the ones that aren’t actually ace themselves, pfsshh) like to spout that, “If you are Ace and are ‘Actually Lgbt+’ then we’re not talking about you, hon. You are Lgbt+ but only for your same gender attraction/non assigned by birth gender identity. The lack of sexual attraction isn’t a true orientation worth protecting. It’s a TMI modifier, you’ll see in time, you experience no real discrimination for being ace. Only for your real Lgbt+ identity! ”, thinking it’s a flawless, righteous thing to say to the “actual Lgbt+” people who are Asexual that they claim to care about and want to protect.

Honestly, not only does that type of answer sound condescending and doesn’t make any of their aphobia hurt less but do you know what it sounds like to me? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT SOUND LIKE TO ME, A DEMI-PANROMANTIC ASEXUAL WOC?!

IT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN WHITE FEMINISTS WHO IGNORE INTERSECTIONALITY SAY, “WE’RE ALL WOMEN AT THE END OF THE DAY AND OPPRESSED HARDER FOR BEING WOMAN SO TO TRULY FIGHT FOR FEMINISM YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR WOMANHOOD BEFORE YOUR ETHNICITY AND LEAVE RACE OUT OF IT”, AND JUST LIKE WHEN BLACK MEN WHO CONTRIBUTE TO MISOGYNOIR SAY, WE’RE ALL BLACK AT THE END OF THE DAY AND OPPRESSED HARDER FOR BEING BLACK SO TO TRULY FIGHT FOR BLACK EQUALITY, YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR GENDER AND YOUR FEMINISM AT THE DOOR.” THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THE FUCK THE WHOLE, “YOUR LBGT+ IDENTITY AND ASEXUAL IDENTITY ARE/HAVE TO BE EXPRESSED SEPARATE(LY)” ARGUMENT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME!

And I’m about to tell you why arguments like that are ignorant and harmful and full of shit, if you’re one not smart enough to put two and two together.

I AM A BLACK WOMAN, A WOMAN WHO IS BLACK. IF I GO INTO A FEMINIST EQUALITY SPACE, MY BLACKNESS DOESN’T DISAPPEAR. IF I GO INTO A BLACK EQUALITY SPACE, MY WOMAN-NESS DOESN’T VANISH. I’M NEVER ONE AND THEN THE OTHER, I’M BOTH AT THE SAME TIME AND THAT’S NEVER GONNA CHANGE OR NOT AFFECT HOW I’M TREATED BY SOCIETY!

Similarly…

I AM PANROMANTIC AND ASEXUAL, AN ASEXUAL WHO IS PANROMANTIC. WHEN I’M FIGHTING FOR LGBT+ ACCEPTANCE AND VISIBILITY, MY ASEXUALITY DOESN’T DISAPPEAR. WHEN I’M FIGHTING FOR ASEXUAL ACCEPTANCE AND VISIBILITY, MY PANROMANTIC-NESS DOESN’T VANISH. I’M NEVER ONE AND THEN THE OTHER, I’M BOTH AT THE SAME TIME AND THAT’S NEVER GONNA CHANGE OR NOT AFFECT HOW I’M TREATED BY SOCIETY!

Holy shit!!! Why is that so hard for so many people to get??? Oh wait, I know why. IT’S BECAUSE QUITE A FEW OF THESE APHOBES AND EXCLUSIONIST ARE NEITHER WOC NOR “REAL LGBT+” ASEXUALS. THEY DON’T HAVE EXPERIENCES BEING TOLD SHIT THAT’S BASICALLY EQUIVALENT TO, “NEGLECT AND LEAVE HALF OF YOUR IDENTITY AT HOME, YOUR EXISTENCE COMPLICATES THINGS AND MAKES PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE”. THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO EXIST AS EITHER. HOWEVER, THEY STILL THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO IGNORE INTERSECTIONALITY AND TO SPEAK DOWN TO PEOPLE WHO ARE BOTH WOC AND ASEXUAL, LIKE ME, TO MAINTAIN AND ENFORCE THEIR OWN VIEWS AND IDEAS OF WHAT THE LGBT+ COMMUNITY LOOKS LIKES AND INCLUDES.

Damn ain’t that some shit, huh? In other news, I can’t wait for my point of view to be ignored and to be dismissed as just another “Angry Black Woman™” for bringing to light of how aphobes and exclusionists treat Asexual WOC like trash, regardless of their romantic orientation or gender identity. (Seriously, don’t even get me started on the amount of non-black exclusionists I’ve seen pull the, “Headcanonning Black female characters as Asexual desexualizes/oversexualizes them!!1!” card. They aren’t Black and they don’t know shit about the inner workings of Black politics or how misogynoir affects how Black women are view in relation to sexuality but they still act like they understand all and are helping, get the fuck out of here). So yeah, sorry not sorry for this long ass post but at first I was just tilted and now I’m hot about it. Aphobes and exclusionists are so fucking ignorant and counterproductive. Yikes.
