just ranting and stuff

I kinda want to leave the animation meme community without leaving my channel and fans
but animation memes are fun

why is a community that is about making a video where a character dances to music so destructive and full of rants n stuff???? can’t we just take time to appreciate that people spend time (some don’t take a lot, but that’s ok!) doing something for fun? And practice?
But all I can see is people complaining about others and trying to let them down and probably stop animating, this is the exact opposite of fun and practice
it’s kinda sad

Les Chevaliers…

It astounds me how often we fail at being able to comprehend two complex concepts at the same time.

I’ve been seeing this post going around in two forms, about how Rogue One (which I have yet to see, so please NO SPOILERS) has an extreme lack of women (including background characters). That’s a really good, important point to discuss. And then there’s a post bashing that same article, pointing to the fact that the film highlights many non-white men and dismissing the article as white feminism.

Both of these may be correct.

The ability of a film to have great representation for men of different races, creeds, abilities and backgrounds does not for a moment contradict the inability of the film to have adequate representation for women of any race, creed, ability or background.

This is why I hate the “trash fire” all-or-nothing mentality. It cannot cope with the notion that something can be good and bad at the same time, in different corners and contexts. For example: something can be great for racial representation and terrible for LGBTQ+ representation. The former does not automatically make the thing great; the latter does not automatically make the thing terrible. (Key word: automatically.)

Not only that, things can have different meanings to different people based on their different experiences. For someone mixed race Asian-white, a main character like Chloe Bennet’s on Agents of SHIELD may be hugely important. For someone black, the show’s troubling history of killing off most of its black characters may be deeply problematic. Neither is wrong.

Personal experiences shape our interpretations of things. Experiences are not universal. The world is not comprised of absolutes. The stunning lack of women in film (at every layer) intersects, of course, with the stunning lack of non-white people in film (at every layer), but neither is more or less important than the other. (Especially since the doubly stunning lack of non-white women in film is something we should talk about more.) It is not “white feminism” to point out that a film with ten character posters had only one devoted to a (white) woman (even if she is the lead), just because the remaining men are non-white. Nor is it misogynistic to appreciate the film’s focus on (male) non-white heroes.

Complex concepts can coexist.

An entire city in the Philippines is being controlled by ISIS-linked group. Please pray, like seriously pray for the city of Marawi and its people being held hostage.

me @ those haters who’re trying to smear super junior members

some realistic and in-character father/son conflicts boruto could have

- naruto is an overbearing parent who wants to be involved with Everything they do and doesn’t know how to give his kids space

- naruto is over-protective of his loved ones to the extreme

- naruto has no idea what ‘normal’ father-son relationships are like thanks to his childhood, as a result he can make a lot of mistakes due to wanting his children to like him more than doing what’s best for them

- naruto is the entire village’s dad and boruto wishes he could have more one-on-one time rather than ‘nart is babysitting Everyone’ time

- naruto is the Most Embarrassing of all dads

- boruto is terrified by the prospect of ever living up to his father’s legacy

- boruto expects that his dad/the ninja world would hate him for not becoming a ninja and following in naruto’s footsteps

- boruto expects that his ninja skills will be handed to him on a silver platter due to his parentage

- boruto doesn’t take in naruto’s many lessons on hard work because his skills were handed to him on a silver platter

- literally anything but what we got

being @gayradwhitedad ‘s friend means u automatically sign up for vore jokes and i still dont know how to deal w/ this information em im love u i promise

I’m close friend with my teacher of history. He’s like between 49-55 I don’t really know, so anyways yesterday I went to his office while he checked some of his exams and I was sitting on his desk (literally the desk not a chair)

So he was asking about my life, and I came out of the closet and told him about my amazing girlfriend.

So, when he asked me where do I met her I told him about Thomas Sanders, and he was:

Teacher: Oh, he’s a guy from YouTube isn’t he? I have watched some of his videos where he pranks people.
Me: Yeah. He also have this videos where he explains things (I can believe I never knew).

So since we’re both historical nerds we watch the pacific one, at some point I told him the drama because I can’t believe they’re actually calling him a pedo because of the fact that he has younger friends, the videos of highschool, everything pretty much

And he told me this

Teacher: Yeah the highschool stuff is weird, but he’s an actor. I mean I can believe that a lot of older people can act as young people. But I kinda see their point to the young friends.
Me: *opens mounts ready to fight*
Teacher: That is what happens when you’re a male adult with young friends. We’re stereotyped as pedos lots of times. They believe that we’re machines with sexual drive that we can’t control. People actually believe we can’t have young friends, and while a part of me understand it, other part os deeply sad. That’s the reason whenever you came to the office I leave the door open. Or when we go to eat, I don’t sit next to you or I don’t pay the your meal, because people can believe I’m being mean to you… it’s sad but that’s how society work.

  • Me: *puts my hand in my hair to itch my scalp*
  • Me: ho don't do it
  • Me: *starts pulling out hair instead*
  • Me: oh my god
A Change of Habit

(Man, I’m just noticing things everywhere and it’s a little concerning that I’m becoming to unnecessarily vigilant)

But Guys … since when does Natsu not except a compliment on a battle?! All he’s ever really opening strived for was to be acknowledged as strong and powerful (And to beat Erza, but that’s a different goal)

So when Arcadios compliments him on his battle with Sting and Rogue

“He couldn’t care less.”

And in addition to Natsu change in behavior:

I’m thinking back to when Day Break came about and how he didn’t want to sneak around.

But when he and the others go to save Lucy from prison …

He shushes her

Since when does Natsu care about sneaking around? He’s never been afraid to go and “Take ‘em by storm”.

And what about him being such a firm believer in the whole, “You don’t die for your friends, you live for them.” thing? That seemed to have slipped his mind when he was fighting f!Rogue.

All I’m saying is that it seems that when Lucy is involved, Natsu goes against his own habits and beliefs .

And I’m pretty sure that’s significant.

Hak is not a Nice Guy™: A rant by me

**Note: I apologize in advance if this comes across as angry and vitriolic, but I really like Hak a lot. I think he’s a wonderful leading man who genuinely cares and respects Yona in ways I so rarely see in popular media, so to see him being criticized for not being a Nice Guy™ really, really grinds my gears and I felt it necessary to say something. So… yeah.

So I go on a manga reading website to read AnY, and in one of the forum I see a great big jumble of bullshit masquerading as a forum post. I’ll spare you guys most of it, but I screenshotted the part that made me livid because, especially for the anime but also for the manga, I see the same sort of reasoning ALL THE TIME.

Not only is this just…. super gross generally, but it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Hak as character. Hak is not a Nice Guy™ who is caring for Yona with ulterior motive of “Oh, if I just stick around long enough and remain hopeful, someday she’s gonna fall for me, right??” No. NO NO NO NO. That is not Hak. That was never Hak. He is not here at Yona’s side hoping and waiting for the moment that she’ll someday love him, and it sure as  hell isn’t the reason he’s still there after all this time. Does he love her, and did he try to make such apparent to her originally? For sure. Does he believe if he just remains persistent, she’ll someday love him back? No. Nooooooo. NO.

@ everyone with intrusive thoughts

okay I’m not trying to invalidate anyone and their struggles but people really need to talk about intrusive thoughts that aren’t just stuff like “throw your cup across the room” or “eat this leaf” (even tho those must be stressful as well im sorry)

I’m talking about those gross, disgusting, violent thoughts that leave you awake at night afraid you’re going to slip up because it’s just a matter of time
Those thoughts that make you afraid to be alone in a room with anyone/anything you could possibly hurt
Those thoughts that leave you crying in the shower/puking over a toilet because they’re so disgusting and you must be a horrible person for even THINKING them
Those thoughts that make you want to kill yourself because it’s better than having to deal with them

People don’t talk about them enough and that’s why it’s so hard for people who suffer from them to realize that it’s not their fault it’s just the disorder
And to everyone who struggles with this: you’re so brave, I love you, and you’re going to get through this

To anyone who says “[Character] is [insert]sexual and everything else is wrong because I said so! uwuwu”

To anyone who says “[Character] is obviously [insert gender identity here], so if you’re viewing them differently, you’re the worst uwuwuwu”

To anyone who harrasses others and/or talks shit about them because they headcanon something differently and thus, want to invalidate these people’s opinions in any way.

post reveal, adrien just buys mari alllllllll the chat noir stuff. all of it. all of her gifts are chat noir themed. if they’re using special edition chat noir cups in some random restaurant three hours away, he will get one for her. it will end up in a chat noir gift bag wrapped in chat noir wrapping paper. mari has chat noir themed clothing and pencil cases and notebooks and kitchenware and accessories and her room is slowly becoming more black and green than pink

and marinette does the exact same thing. she goes out of her way so that everything she makes for adrien is subtly ladybug themed in some way. she gets him ladybug pjs and posters and headphones with antenna on them. she plasters his room in red and black spots. she sets his lockscreen as ladybug and it stays that way for almost two months

for their first anniversary, they swap superhero themed bags and pull out superhero themed gifts

alya and nino joke that they’re more in love with the superheroes than each other and adrien just pulls on the ears of mari’s chat noir sweatshirt

but at the same time, they spend so much time together that they just…swap stuff? like adrien will notice that he’s somehow ended up using mari’s cat headphones for the past week and a half. marinette will be wearing adrien’s ladybug hoodie and when he mentions it she claims it’s hers because she’s the one who wears the spots in this relationship. mari’s chat noir sketchbook is in adrien’s bookshelf and adrien’s ladybug backpack is hanging on mari’s doorknob

the only thing they don’t swap is this giant ladybug and chat noir blanket that is perfect for rooftop cuddling. even if adrien steals it from mari when they accidentally fall asleep up there

You know what I dont get?

People who hate on those who are genderqueer, genderfluid, nonbinary, trans, etc etc.

Like…. How exactly is it affecting you and your life so much that you just HAVE to take out your frustrations on us and invalidate us?
Are you really that sad and insecure?

“muhh nonbinary isn’t real only 2 genders”
So what. So fucking what.
My identity is none of your god damn concern, fucking rando bigot on the internet.

“its fun to trigger u sensitive snowflakes”
If thats the only way you can bring yourself joy, is by harassing, berating and degrading kids on the internet like spineless vermin;
I honestly feel sorry for you.

Some of us identify how we do for our own comfort. Some of us identify the way we do because it helps us function.

Me personally; its become significantly easier for me to be confident and to make it through every day being able to call myself nonbinary and know exactly who I am.
To others, their identity might be significantly more or less important to them.
Who are YOU to judge?

And honestly, at the end of the day; we’re all human.
So really:
Why do you spend so much time trying to bring those down who might have spent their entire lives trying to bring themselves up.

Thats just fucking pathetic.

everything is just a dream

do you feel that too?

A message to you fake ToppKlass

Don’t pretend to suddenly be sad now that 4 (possibly 5) members of Topp Dogg have left the group. Don’t try to act concerned over if they will disband or not when you hardly even know the members. Stop acting as if you’ve been here to support them since day 1 when you’ve barely gave any them support at all. Don’t claim to love this group when you can’t even do as little as stream their MV’s on youtube or give them a few hearts on VLive. Your fake support isn’t wanted by anyone, seriously.

The only time you’re every truly around for Topp Dogg is when one of the members are having some controversy and you need some of that kpop tea to sip on to fill your pathetic void of needing drama in your life. I’m tired of yall saying stuff like “omg they’re so underrated11!!1  😭😳 dont let them flop!1!”  but you’re one of the very reasons they’re underappreciated anyway….

Yes, the company has to play their part in promotion but as fans, it’s our job as well. A kpop group can’t be successful no matter what contract or label they're under if they don’t have supportive and dedicated fans. There are soo many ways for you to show your support and most of it is free. It’s not always about buying their merch and albums. You can simply watch their MV’s a few times to bring views up and leave positive comments as well. Follow them on the V App and send hearts. Follow their social media, draw fanart, tell others about the group to raise interest… it’s not hard at all. If you have’t done any of that, don’t you dare even call yourself a fan, a Topp Klass.

They don’t have to be your favorite group and I’m not saying that you have to talk about them 24/7 to prove yourself a fan. But if you’re one of those people who only like them for certain members or has only watched an MV once and had forgotten about them… you can gladly stay away from my boys.
