“Oi! ____-nee, don’t wander off to far!” You heard someone yelling. Turning around, you saw your adorable baby brother, Kageyama Tobio.
“Move it or lose it, Tobio-chan!” You teased, skipping ahead a couple more paces and then waiting for your slowpoke of a brother to finally catch up. “Today is the day that I finally get to watch my brother play in a match! How come you never invited me to go?”
“Because there’s a lot of boys there…”
“Aw! My darling little brother is jealous!”
“I’m not! Now be quiet, I need to find my team.” You sighed in defeat as Kageyama looked around some and then ran off to join the others.
“Crap, I didn’t ask what team he was playing against… or which court they’re playing on.” You sighed once more and decided to try and follow the path that Kageyama took to find his team. “Ah… I’m at the crossroads of destiny.”
“Actually, sweetheart, if you look at the sign in front of you… to the left is the men’s bathroom and to the right is the women’s,” a familiar voice said. You turned around and saw Oikawa Tooru. “Yo.”
“Hey!” You smiled.
“I thought you said you weren’t going, that you had family business to attend to.”
“Yeah, I’m here with-”
“Get. Your. Hands. Off. Her.”
“Oh, great. Look who’s here,” Oikawa mumbled. Kageyama stood in front of the two of you and ripped you away from the captain.
“Did he hurt you? Where else did he touch you? That stupid…” Kageyama bit his tongue and steadied you behind him. “What did you do to her?”
“Listen, Tobio-chan, you’re too young to understand the concepts of love, so if I can just have my-”
“No! Come on, ____-nee, I shouldn’t have left you there alone.” Kageyama started to walk away, but Oikawa’s hand latched onto you yours in time.
“You can’t go dragging my girlfriend away!” Immediately both boys stopped trying to get you out of the hands of the other and froze. They looked at each other, then at you.
“You’re his sister?!”
“You’re his girlfriend?!”
“I’m a tug toy?!!” You managed to get yourself out of their grips and then turned towards the boys. “Way to kill my arms!”
“How come you never told me, ____-nee! I thought you promised that if you ever dated a guy you would tell me!”
“How come you never told me that you were related to… that?!”
“… I guess I forgot?” The two groaned and then you swore you felt sparks flying from the behavior of the two boys.
“Wanna see who the better man in ____’s life is, Tobio-chan?”
“It’s always gonna be me, there’s no question.”
“That’s not what she said-”
“Boys! Settle it on the court,” you yelled. Looks like you remembered who your lovely brother was playing against in the match today.
What if Bob tries his hand out at baking because of Bitty, and when he comes down to visit Bitty and Jack with Alicia at Bitty’s bakery, he’s just rolling up his sleeves and ignoring Bitty’s horrified protests of “No no you’re a guest what are you doing” and going behind the counter like “Shhh son-in-law I can do this I practiced at home a lot ask Alicia.” (Alicia is in the background shaking her head and laughing under her breath like Bob’s baking history didn’t only consist of three
batches of cookies and one lumpy pie).
The regulars who nearly spit out their coffee when they see Bad Bob Zimmermann in an apron, flour in his hair and both his arms laden with trays of mini pies and bread. Jack comes in after practice and goes to the counter, expecting Bitty but not really looking ahead as he says, “Hey, sweetheart. How was your day?” Bob just sticks his head from behind the counter and says, “Pretty good, son. How was yours?” and Jack just chokes on his own tongue as Bitty and Alicia try not to combust with laughter in the back.
Tsukishima + his girlfriend the morning after? Like what is he thinking, and feeling and all of that. I love love love love your blog, BTW ❤❤❤❤
Every negative calamity to ever occur in his life was destroyed the morning after a thunderstorm. To be perfectly honest he couldn’t quite remember how it happened, or any of the actions leading up to what happened, but all he knew is that it did, in fact, happen, and he was very, very happy.
He could still feel the heat lingering on his bare chest. He was sure everywhere from the tips of his toes to his cheeks were still a healthy red. Raindrops still hammered against the window panes and the old furnace growled, belligerently so, but Kei felt nothing but comforting warmth. With bleary eyes he glanced over at the body next to him, curled up and facing him with obstreperous bangs falling into her eyes. A smile of sincerity evaded his face, and he was honest that he’d never been more jubilant in his life. He fell in love, drastically so and if you asked him about it three months ago, he would’ve denied it. Although right now, in this very moment, he wouldn’t mind stepping out onto the balcony and yelling “I love __ __!” at the top of his lungs for the entirety of the bustling street below to hear. In reality, he would never do that, social anxiety would creep up on him like a bitch, but metaphorically he was willing to go to that extent. He then reached out to touch her, his fingertips soft against her skin. They brushed away the bangs that fell into her face and with a smile, he pressed a soft kiss on her forehead. She shuffled around a bit, but waking her was one of his intentions. He kissed her again on her cheek, and three times on the corner of her mouth, lingering there with closed eyes of his own and a stupid smile. Tsukishima couldn’t believe how much he was smiling, really, his face actually hurt. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her up against his body, the warmth of her chest against his was something he knew he wanted to treasure. In this moment, he was undeniably a sap, eyes lidded lovingly as he let the tresses of her hair fall between his fingers. She shuffled, suddenly, letting out a small groan of displeasure and knocking her head on his chest. He laughed at her absent state of mind, but it was completely and utterly out of sincerity. She was adorable, an absolute gem in his eyes, but gems still had flaws but it was the flaws that made her seem rarer, more genuine. She was adorable, and that was the first thing he told her when she opened her eyes. She giggled, short and sweet, and let her head rest against his chest, looking up at him with the same, stupid smile he knew was mirrored on his face. “Kids in love” was not a position he ever thought he’d be in, but when she scooted up to kiss his collarbone and his heart started racing a mile a minute and the stupid smile remained put on his face, and the stupid need to want to be with this girl forever indefinitely made him a stupid kid in love. He wouldn’t have it any other way, though.
“G’morning.” She muttered, suddenly. Her lips still lingered against his collarbone, which was every indication that she was still exhausted, but the soft glint in her eye was every indication that she’d rather be awake.
“Good morning.” He replied. “Did you sleep well?”
“Well, it felt like there were seventy two bees belligerently attacking my vaginal entrance all night, so no.” Tsukishima chuckled, gently running his hands down the length of her back.
“Sorry that I hurt you.” He whispered, planting a kiss against her forehead. “But why seventy two bees?”
“I dunno, for dramatic effect? It won’t always hurt like this, right?”
“Doubt it. It might just be one bee next time.” He shrugged. She cuddled up close to him, subliminally slipping her leg between his. In between another kiss to his lips, she paused and muttered, “I’m glad I did this with you.”
He nodded in response, closing the kiss back up and breaking it. His heart was still pounding, and he felt like an idiot who just made eye contact with his crush for the first time. He had just shared his body with this girl yet for some reason, he was nervous. The soft pads of her fingers against his chest were intimidating, he was intimidated by the sincerity of this moment. He was growing soft, he had grown soft, and if she wanted she could destroy him, but she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t because she was another stupid kid in love, in love with him.
“I love you.” Is what he replied with. “I always will.”
She smiled, the apples of her cheeks practically glowing.
“I love you too, Kei.”
The rain outside only grew more atrocious, and everything around him seemed to be a mess. The man next door was yelling in incoherent Swedish, the bustling and shuffling of pedestrians and cars was an awful background noise, but the girl in between his arms, the love of his life, made everything seem beautiful. Being a stupid kid in love was everything beautiful.
Bitty cooks all the time to
procrastinate, so of course Jack has gotten used to the “Here, taste this”
and the proffered spoon of whatever Bitty had decided to whip up for the day.
Jack doesn’t even look up anymore when he’s helping Bitty chop up the vegetables,
or if he’s watching a documentary on his laptop in the kitchen so he can keep
Bitty company. He just opens his mouth as he continues to do whatever he’d been
doing, and gives comments like, “Mmm,” “Good. I like this,” “Is
there chicken in here,” and the “Hm. It’s okay,” which Bitty has learned
to interpret as a ‘No, don’t feed me this anymore.’
They start unconsciously doing it everywhere. At the Haus, when Bitty scoops up
the chicken salad he’d been mixing and shoves it towards Jack, who’s already
leaning in, Holster complains to Ransom, “Why don’t you feed me like that? It’s
like you don’t love me anymore, bro.” (Ransom responds, “Bro I used to and then you betrayed me and ate more than half of your share of the sundae.”) When Bob and Alicia visit Providence,
they witness Bitty in the process of feeding Jack a spoonful of something that looks like casserole, and Alicia didn’t even have time to comment, “Jack, I
thought you didn’t like casserole” when Jack says, “It’s good. Is there more?”
They go to a fair when they visit Georgia and Bitty doesn’t even think twice
before spooning the slush from his snow cone and offering it to Jack, who
nearly swallows the entire spoon because he hadn’t been paying attention.
Jack finally returns the favor at their wedding, when he offers Bitty his
forkful of cake and kisses the icing off the corner of Bitty’s face.
