just making this post because of reasons

anonymous asked:

I'm lowkey getting really sick of people talking shit about BigBang and their only reason for it is the stupid mindset of "my favorite is better than yours"

I know, like just let us post about our faves in peace??? Look, everyone wants their favourite artists to succeed, that’s natural. Part of it is loving the artist and wanting to make them happy, part of it is loving the music and wanting others to experience and enjoy it. But ultimately… even if BIGBANG ever did flop, I’d still love and support them. I’m not a fan because they’re popular, I’m a fan because I love the music and I love the people making the music. It’s nice to have achievements and awards to celebrate, but the success isn’t why I like them. My love for BIGBANG runs so much deeper than bragging rights.

Have you ever just had an emotional breakdown, but a happy one? Like where you just get so happy for no reason that you just sob?

Because I have the greatest support system and some of the most amazing friends and I’m crying so damn hard right now.

Call out post for @mowedith @shimmy-sham-with-the-fam @deira-luv @alois-trancys-short-shorts @awakusukaii and Illu (because I don’t know wtf her tumblr is) for being such amazing friends and making me sob like a freaking baby over how much I love you.

I fucking hate my aunt.

For those who may not know, I am living with my aunt while studying in university because it’s just way cheaper. And it is driving me fucking mad because I fucking hate her and how she treats me. This is gonna be a vent post so you’re welcome to ignore it.

Howdy everybody! I recently made a post that was uh… ahem… “controversial”, where I told all Trump supporters, MAPS (Minor Attracted People), TERFS (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists), and Nazis to leave my blog. This post resulted in me losing several followers, and I think I received another death threat too😅. I would like to apologise for, welp, nothing really😄. That post (and this one hopefully) was designed SPECIFICALLY to upset those people and get them to unfollow/block me! My blog is a safe space, and I don’t want anyone from any hateful organizations to be able to comment on my posts (especially considering that I know many of my followers are oppressed people).

When I first lost some followers, I was really really bummed. But one of my followers reminded me via DMs that if those followers left me because of that post, then they must have been members of those organizations, so good riddance to them! Now if anything, I’m bummed that there were people following me that sympathized with terfs, nazis, etc, and I’m really glad they’re gone!

Sooooo….. if you are offended by me making this post (or gasp!! Posting something “political"😨😨) please unfollow!!!! Just leave!! The same goes if you are anti-lgbtqia+! If you have ever hated someone for something that has no effect on you, is out of their control, or you harm people for no reason, OR SUPPORT SOMEONE WHO DOES,,,, then you do not deserve to look at my content👋!!!!! You can come back once you have learned👏to👏be👏a👏human👏being. Thanks for reading my really long post, and have a lovely day!! Peace!

(oh and by the way, feel free to reblog this to get rid of your hateful followers, trust me it really works! Stay safe out there💛!!)

anonymous asked:

How’d you learn to draw mechas? I’ve been wanting to try that myself for a while, and I know as an artist that the only way to learn is to just Do it, but it’s so daunting! I have no idea where to begin. Do you have any advice or tips? Thank you for your time!

Okay first of all, sorry to take so long to answer. I really wanted to draw some pics for this, and the last weeks have been quite busy.

1. Draw from the reference

Drawing is like learning a new language: You can’t say you wanna learn English and then just start making up your own words because you think that finding words in the dictionary is cheating - It doesn’t make sense. Find a super cool robot picture and try to copy it. These are called “studies” for a good reason. You’re studying the vocabulary of those drawings. Many times people don’t share their studies since it’s only for the practice. But don’t study just one person. You don’t want to become that person - you want to become better! And if you post your study online, don’t forget to credit the original artist!

2. Try different techniques

One of my favorite techniques is something I call color blocking - I’m not sure if it’s an actual term or just something I came up with. I kind of carve the silhouette of the robot with one color and then I add a second color and carve the details in. I do this also if I have a picture with lots of characters and I want to make sure everything reads correctly. But these are all personal matters. Try different techniques until you find a one that works for you. And remember to flip your canvas!!

3. Try different brushes

My favorite brushes vary, but these three are the ones I keep using more than the others. Kyle’s brush I got used to while I was working on my freelance work - it just feels good to draw with. The square one is really fun to work with in mecha designs, and the basic one also feels surprisingly good while drawing. Sometimes I just grab a new brush, start doodling, and end up with a decent piece.

4. Symmetry vs. asymmetry

This one I included especially because I’m talking about robots. Breaking up the machines with asymmetrical parts gives them more character BUT it’s important to keep the symmetry in mind. If I do a robot that has a one big arm and one small arm, I later make sure that most of the other parts are symmetrical. This way the asymmetry is the choice rather than a mistake.

5. Draw from the reference (!!!)

Yes, I added this the second time because I really feel it’s important! I use Pinterest all the time - I have a board with over 1000 pins of robots! There are paintings from my favorite robot artists, 3D models of super cool robot designs, and even photos of real robots all collected in one place. And for anyone who feels “wrong” doing this: Finding reference DOESN’T mean copying - it can be just an idea or inspiration: It’s finding the language you want to use. Sure you won’t need  the reference as much later on as you build your own “shape-vocabulary” - just like you won’t need your dictionary after you have learned the words you use.

6. It doesn’t have to be perfect

I’m never 100% happy with my work. But I have learned to say “oh well” and move on. Next time I’ll do better.

7. BE PROUD!

Don’t talk down your own work no matter how much you’d like to. If you’re not standing behind your drawings, who will? Sure you do see the mistakes, but it’s still a great piece of art you made!

lets talk about zarkon and quintessence

so we all now know that the whole reason for this war to exist is because of zarkon and haggars “need” for the quintessence.

this is zarkon pre and post rift. something that stuck out to me in s3e7 is that zarkon has pupils, which galras normally don’t? and like, ok, maybe zarkon just doesnt have those traditional galra features?

zarkon is talking to these people as fellow galras, however non of these people look like the galras we know today? two of them have markings and pointy ears which makes me think they’re altean or galra and altean. but i think that the family in the center is pure galra. ezor is half galra, and has the same ears as them, as well as the servant that the original blue paladin flirted with, and also the galra commander that throk talked with in s3e1 also has ears like that.

so why are they total buff furries now? quintessence! we know what the quintessence did to honerva

so, we now know that yellow eyes without pupils = quintessenced person? we also know that the alteans have been gone for 10000 years, so zarkon could have easily tried out new stuff with the quintessence, like feeding his army with it to make them stronger and more superior. basically what i’m saying is that the galra are all mutants made by the quintessence.

his test subject? laika the yupper. if you don’t know, laika was the first dog to be send out in space, so we can assume laika originally has been a dog in the show too, and judging by the looks of her, she has gotten a LOT of quintessence.

so after testing out the quintessence, he could give it to his army. the galras from the last pictures doesn’t look anything like the galras we see. the current galras have a build like laikas and (a lot) have features like laika, which makes me think that he is building an army with the quintessence.

and lotor? he obviously hasn’t gotten the quintessence treatment from his dad! but we already know that lotor is interested in getting the quintessence from alternate realities, and what is he gonna use it for? probably something like zarkon, to get stronger himself and live forever, but the quintessence is also the most energy filled substance in the whole universe, and you knwo what was also revealed in s3e7? THE LIONS WERE MADE FROM THE QUINTESSENCE OF THE COMET (which he stole in ep4!!!), and therefore lotor can LITERALLY make a set of lions to make an evil voltron. you know what he also have? 4 badass generals who probably wouldn’t mind piloting the arms and legs.

so yeah i just made an analysis of the galra empire and i have no idea what to use this information for.

bonus: the lions eyes are also yellow, but i didn’t know where to put this information ahhaha

Self-Care for Students

I am making this post because I have been demonstrating atrocious self-care. Well, I haven’t really been doing any self-care at all. So, for that reason, I am making this post to not only help myself but help other students as well—because I know I’m not the only one out there working non-stop and not taking time for myself!

Time Management

You may be wondering–how does time management fit into self-care? Time management has everything to do with self-care. If you don’t have good time management, then you are probably:

a) losing sleep to complete assignments

b) skipping meals to study

c) not taking time to just relax and de-stress

Make sure you are keeping track of your syllabuses and make sure you have enough time to complete each assignment.

Make appointments to relax whether that be alone, with friends, your s/o(s), or family.

School/College/University Counselor

If you are dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression, make sure you are taking care of your mental health!!! I can’t stress this enough!! Your mental and physical health comes first. If you are struggling with either, how can you be successful in your studies? Your well-being matters and you deserve to have some peace of mind during your school year.

Reach to out and take advantage of the resources that your school offers. Most schools should have a therapist/counselor on campus. If you don’t know how to see a counselor, ask around. This can be a good option for those who cannot afford therapy and/or do not have the time to go to a therapist outside of school!

Exercise and eat healthy

This is something that easier said than done. This is something that I am working on as well. My university has a gym, and I always try my best to get there, but the past few weeks of school have just been so busy and I haven’t had the chance to go.

This may be hard, but try your best to get exercise, even if it is only ten minutes. Even if it’s going for a short jog or running on the treadmill for a bit at the gym. Exercising has been proven to help with depression and stress. It’s also an important part of your overall health.

Many college students are familiar with the struggle to find affordable and healthy food. My university’s cafeteria in my school is ridiculously expensive and I bring a lunch every day. I commute so I am not familiar with things you could do if you are living on campus. If you have any times for dorm students, please feel free to add them!

I can make a post in the future about affordable food for college students.

Treat yo’ self!

That’s right! You heard me! Last week I went up to Chinatown and bought myself and lychee crepe—because I’m worth it (I’m working on building my poor self-esteem—I’ll make a post about that later). Celebrate your success by doing little things for yourself. It doesn’t need to be big. It could be taking a nice bath, go to a movie, hang out with a friend, etc. Going to school can be stressful and it’s important to take some time to do fun things for yourself. You work so hard! You deserve it!

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Please add anything that you feel is important for self-care for students!

the shit that still doesn’t sit well with me is when allura, hunk, pidge, and keith were all either lowkey or highkey calling lance dumb. and they were satisfied with themselves for it.

he’s already shown disappointment in himself for not being able to connect with the black lion and has expressed that he doesn’t feel like he’s good enough to be a paladin. so why would they be so quick to make fun of him when he’s feeling vulnerable? yeah, he’s a goofball but that’s only one part of his personality and they shouldn’t treat him like he’s stupid all the time.

he only wanted confirmation from allura that she wasn’t making fun of him. she had said, “i just had to get into a lance-like mindset and stop thinking so much.” a pretty back-handed compliment in contrast to all the praise she was getting for connecting with blue.

lance immediately got defensive (”are you calling me dumb?”), which is a completely reasonable reaction because it was kind of rude of her. she did say he was a natural, but the rest of the team jumped right on that dumb comment and kept going, and allura did nothing to stop them.

then keith said he was glad they were all making fun of lance… it didn’t really seem like friendly teasing to me. it was mean of them to do that after lance has proven himself to be just as smart (albeit in different ways) as the rest of them.

matt age theory?

we know that pidge was just starting middle school in the flashback at the end of episode 2 of season 4 because she says that she has to go through middle school without Matt there (because he will be on the kerberos mission)

most middle schoolers start at age 11 (turning 12 during the year) meaning that in the flashback pidge would have been about 12 years old. in the pilot we learned it takes months to get all the way out to kerberos so that would have taken some time.

in the pilot we are shown pidge a year after the failed kerberos mission which would have been a year and some months after the flashback in season 4 allowing the time for the kerberos mission to launch, fail, and have a 1 year anniversary of that failure. therefor pidge would have been about 14 at the time of the pilot.

we also know that pidge is 15 now which means that in canon from the time of the flashback to season 4 pidge would have aged 3 years and matt would have aged 3 years as well.

with the assumptions that the garrison is a high school program, said high school program wouldn’t send a student who hasn’t completed the program on a mission, and that most high schoolers start at age 14 (turning 15 during the year) and graduate when they are 18, then when matt went on the kerberos mission he would have been at least 18 years old.

this is also supported by the fact that keith, hunk and lance are all 17/18 year olds and were still part of the program and keith was the top student in the class but still wasn’t chosen to go on a mission. none of them were. they were all still being trained in the pilot which leads to the idea that the garrison wouldn’t send people to space until they completed the program/graduated. so again matt would have been at LEAST 18.

if he was at least 18 when he went on the mission and 3 years have passed in canon since the flashback scene, that would mean that in season 4 matt would be at least 21 years old.

Instagram Is A Tiny Speck In The Ginormous Oil Painting of Life

One topic I think about obsessively: Instagram. More specifically, the psychological effect it has on me.

A while ago I posted a tweet saying I felt conflicted about social media, and the responses I got were surprising. People said that Facebook gave them anxiety, only going on certain sites when their mood was stable, whilst others deleted and re-activated their accounts regularly.

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with these platforms but they have so many pros that it makes them hard to quit. They connect me to like-minded people, are informative, make me laugh and give me an instant connection to my fanbase. It’s amazing to feel a level of relation in real time. However, in the last year I’ve noticed that every time I go on Instagram I feel kind of flat + zapped afterwards, like somebody has literally sat on my brain for 5 minutes. It’s oddly deflating.

Social media apps are designed to make us addicted to them. Human behaviour is reward based and each time we get a “like” or a message, our brains release a hit of dopamine, which makes us feel rrrreeeeal good (until the dopamine level drops and we feel real bad). Instagram is basically digital meth. So, for the past year I’ve been deleting the app off my phone for large periods of time, then re-downloading it if I want to post something. Interestingly, the feeling I get upon returning is always the same: I’ve missed nothing!

I understand social media’s appeal most when in relation to constructing a fantasy world. I’ve used it as a creative tool on every album I’ve made. Tumblr was key to “Electra Heart” and Twitter was key to “FROOT”. But what at first seemed like an opportunity to communicate our thoughts in an uncensored way has become a vehicle for us to present ourselves in the way that we would like to be seen by others. And this is what makes me feel weird about posting sometimes. A review I read of the film ’Ingrid Goes West’ nailed this feeling: “We use these platforms to lie and intentionally curate our lives”. The curating part hits a chord with me. It makes me feel icky, because I’ve surely, if subconsciously, done this - the majority of us have if we’re using the platform. How do I get around that and use it in a healthier way? Do I just delete the whole thing or do I need to be aware of the reason I want to post something? i.e. Is it to share an image I love, or is to make people think of me in a certain way? The latter creeps me out. It scares me.

Recently, a friend said he had been going through a difficult period, so he hadn’t gone on Instagram for about a month. “Why would I? Everyone is having such a great time”. Ohhh, the digital illusion of happiness. OK, some people are genuinely having a great time, and they want to share that great time with you, but they’re not having a good time all the time. And that’s the key to remember when we’re embarking on a scrolling spree into the darkest depths of existential hell at 2am. Social media is a tiny speck in the ginormous oil painting of human life. We all have problems. We present the good parts of ourselves because it’s anathema to document the true nature of our lives, which inevitably consist of moments of disappointment, loneliness and embarrassment. None of these things look pretty or cool (no, not EVEN if you put the Mayfair filter on top of them), and I can totally see how it all started out innocently. We all love sharing special moments, but because these moments hold social currency online, we’re now doing only that. It’s easy to see how people can feel disappointed when their own lives don’t measure up in a similar way.

We’re still in the infancy of the internet, trying to navigate technology in a way that is beneficial to our lives, but I sense a shift towards a desire to portray our lives more realistically. I notice more people sharing an experience or story in the caption of a selfie/ photograph that provides more of a picture of their life than the actual photo ever could. But I still wonder how we can evolve online culture into a space that is less image-focused/ self-driven, because I worry about the psychological effects that an image-focused culture might have on a young person’s self-esteem. 20 years ago, posting a stream of pictures of only my face would have been considered borderline narcissistic, but now it’s normal. And I’m not judging this - I’m talking from the perspective of someone who has done this a’plenty and who has been a part of that culture, particularly at the height of an album campaign. Maybe all Instagram has done is magnify what seems to have always been true, that humans value beauty to excess.

Ok, I’ll end this post by saying this: If I never go on Instagram again, my life won’t lack anything because of it. Assuming I use it 20 minutes a day, I’ll get back 122 hours a year - for free! The reality is, I’ll probably continue to use it, but it’s important to me to see these platform for what they are, not what they appear to be. They’re addictive, comparative, take my time and give little back in return.

I’ll leave you with my fave comment which came from @FKASimon.

Quite, Simon, Quite.

Love, Marina

PSA: Writers are artists too.

People seem to think that reposting artwork or other graphics is stealing, but that doing the same for writing isn’t? Or that you can’t ‘steal’ writing, just because it’s easy to copy? Or the written word is not as important as visual works, so stealing it is okay, and this is not true.

These are two issues I’ve noticed with this that are growing increasingly common:

  • Firstly: there is this popular trend going about, particularly with roleplayers, that they use someone else’s writing, whether it be poetry or a quote or something, in the caption section of their roleplay promotions / advertisements, but they don’t credit the source. They’ll give credit (sometimes) for the image(s) they used for the promo, but not the writing – as if one deserves credit and the other doesn’t? I’ve now seen my own work used in the caption of someone’s promo – without credit. It was just two lines from a much longer poem, but it is still MY work and while my rules state on my poetry blog people can use my writing for various things, I require credit for anything. Not doing so is STEALING and REPOSTING someone’s work. It doesn’t take much effort to put in a credit, either. If a writer doesn’t even want you to use their writing, regardless of credit, and you do so anyway, that is also stealing.

  • Secondly, and this is even more predominant: Musing blogs ( a couple in particular ) seem to think it is okay to REPOST someone else’s poetry, writing, etc. into a musing post; again, without credit, without question or permission. THIS IS NOT OKAY. Just because it’s THERE and it’s writing doesn’t mean you can do whatever you like to or with it. Musing blogs who take writing from other sources and just repost it as a musing post for others to reblog are illegitimately using other people’s work. This is theft. I have also had to deal with someone making a musing out of my writing, without credit or permission, and they just thought it was?? okay?? to take?? someone else’s writing?? and post it?? as your own???

WRITING IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AND ORIGINAL AS ARTWORK AND GRAPHICS! IT IS NOT ANY MORE ‘OKAY’ TO COPY-PASTE SOMEONE ELSE’S WRITING THAN IT IS TO UPLOAD A PICTURE SOMEONE ELSE DREW ON YOUR BLOG WITHOUT PERMISSION OR CREDIT.

Please stop thinking you can do whatever you want with whatever you find.

reasons to reply to fic comments
  • readers can be shy, too. They worry about commenting the same way that writers worry about posting fic. Replying lets them know they “did it right”
  • readers feel as overjoyed when they get replies as writers feel when they get comments
  • you can have a lot of fun and maybe even make a new friend
  • you can’t give kudos to comments, and there are some comments that really deserve it
  • just to say “thanks” - because not all readers comment and you appreciate the ones who do
Advice For People Making Positivity Posts About Trans Guys

cw: mention of biological sex characteristics

Don’t:
Use the word “period” for the love of god… we have dysphoria for a reason? Mentioning the thing that women do is triggering as fuck because it makes us remember what’s going on down there and what our bodies do and we don’t want to remember this, at all. We’re not meant to be doing that, so just stop.

Do:
Use “monthly”/“sharkweek”

Don’t:
Refer to our CHEST as “breasts”. Again, this is triggering as fuck. None of us want to be reminded of the fact that we have breasts. Stop using female terms to refer to our body, please. Yes, our body is what it is and we do have a female body we know this, we’re not indenial, but using terms that are commonly associated with women when we are not women is not okay. Just stop.

Do:
Use the word “chest”

Don’t:
Call our private parts “vagina”… oh my god. Why does this need to be said, really like, why would you even say that at all. I honestly can’t say anything that I haven’t already said.

Do:
Use “down below”/“privates/private parts”/“penis”/“bottom area”

Don’t:
PUT ATTENTION ON OUR BODY PARTS. We don’t want to hear things like “to the guys with big hips”, “to the guys with feminine/high voices” and “to the guys with curves" etc. It is just focusing on the fact that our body is this way and we’re trying as much as possible to make our body what it should be.

These things are all examples of social dysphoria that can trigger sex dysphoria. Please. I’m on T and this shit still annoys me because I remember seeing this all pre-T and it made me so dysphoric. You’re just hurting other guys. Words are words, true, but they still hurt especially when we have dysphoria about these parts. Guys don’t want to come across a post that’s meant to make them feel good, read the first line and it says “To the guys with large breasts you are valid!” get that out of here! You are being so inconsiderate to what we suffer with and if you are trans, maybe tone it down and think about other people?

Reminder: we are not women, so stop talking about our parts in female terms.

Before I get that one person, obviously if you are speaking medically/giving medical advice then yes, there is no way around this but any other time, work around it. I’m sorry if this post has come across harsh but legit, it needs to be said.

Headcanon time: Keith eats nothing but garbage food on Earth.

  • You might be thinking “oh, he eats tons of fast food then?” or maybe, depending on your tastes “I bet he likes pineapple on his pizza haha.” No.
    • Keith was making chicken noodle soup once, and he put mashed avocado in it “for flavour”.
    • Keith takes tortilla chips, but instead of dipping them in salsa or ranch like a normal and functional human being, he dips them in fish gravy.
    • Making lime jello? Reasonable. But you bet your sweet left cheek that there’s going to be sliced up sausage somewhere in there.
    • Keith makes a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and onions, grills it, then pours goddamn maple syrup right on top of it.
  •  So needless to say, when Keith offers to make dinner for team voltron as celebration for their latest mission, Shiro is absolutely mortified. But the rest of them are none the wiser, and he doesn’t want to be rude, so he lets Keith do it.
  • Turns out, the reason for Keith’s strange tastes is because his galra genes modify his pallet for non-earth food, so with “alien ingredients” the food Keith makes tastes just fine. Delicious even.
  • Even Lance, who is a reasonably good cook, swallows his pride and gives Keith a genuine complement.
  • Shiro is shook.
TERFs/TWERFs rarely talk to trans people ages 18-20+ because it’s harder to tell someone who’s been living as a trans person for most of their adult life that they’re faking it or will “regret their decision”

TERFs/TWERFs target people around my age because they like to manipulate with bloated statistics, scare tactics, and overall gross word-twisting to scare questioning/trans kids into identifying a certain way. I encourage teenagers to just flat-out avoid TERFs/TWERFs //especially if you’re a trans girl, they fucking hate trans girls// because they will try to gaslight you by telling you that you’ll end up depressed or kill yourself if you transition

these people are legitimately toxic and hateful, they’ve only ever come after me on my positivity posts and do not care if you talk to them first, they will try to drag you into a fight about how “biologically you’ll never change your sex”

they have no purpose, they have no goal other than to bring trans positivity down and essentially remove trans people from feminism and to make sure that trans girl lesbians are just completely shut out. So, I say this genuinely, do not fucking talk to TERFs/TWERFs if you’re under 18, because they will use your inexperience as a reason to scare you. They’ll say that they care and it’s because they don’t want you to kill yourself //which is fucking manipulative on its own// but all they will do behind your back is talk shit about trans people. They do not actually care about YOUR well-being, they just want less trans people in the community.

I didn’t really except this comic to be so much loved, i really appreciate all your support ♥

Let’s call this the “jealousy comic” because i’m not original for title

I didn’t really follow your asks because of some reasons. To know which one, I advice you to read this information post

BY THE WAY !

The Slug’s design is highly inspired by amazing artists ! I hope you don’t mind it ;v;  ( sorry to annoying you with the tag -v-”)

Unfortunately I’ve just found two of them.. I will make my research later

• The pull-over is inspired by @theinsanefruitloop-chan ‘s big brother Slug

• The coat is also inspired by  @rincat21  Slug’s design

• The scratch on the paper bag too (artist : In research)
